I've only seen the first couple of Mushishi episodes and it seemed like a slow-burning atmospheric kind of series. I think he goes around solving supernatural mysteries and it's quite episodic in its construction. It definitely seems like a relaxing series.
I've only seen Barakamon once but I really enjoyed it. It was a borderline 9 but I already had lots of 9 scores so I gave it an 8 in the end. It would be nice to rewatch it sometime when I'm looking for something gentler, slice of life, or with a relaxing pace.
Do you know if there's much of a chance of seeing more Sangatsu animated in the future?
Yeah, Slice of Life and Iyashikei (healing/calming feeling) anime genres are among my very favorite.
Chihayafuru is the one I'd say was most like Sangatu because of the competitive tactical gaming aspect - but heavily focused upon a game called Karuta.
What is Karuta?
Karuta is a traditional Japanese card game. This card game is unique because the cards have famous poems on them. And the Japanese have played karuta in Japan for over 400 years.
The game is about listening and being fast. To begin with, a reader is chosen to read the reading cards aloud. The reading cards have poems on them and as soon as the reader starts to read the poems, the players compete to grab the matching playing card first. You have to be the first to grab the card to win!
Today, over one million karuta players in Japan compete in clubs and they have a grand National championship every January.
Another one that I really liked myself would be Barakamon, but I see from our anime affinity/rating comparison that you've already seen it!

Hey, as someone who's big into Sangatsu, have you seen Chihayafuru yet? It definitely has a similar vibe.
