☆ choosing a favorite anime is hard and you cant make me ☆

tired anime fan screaming my opinions into the wind.

i genuinely just love anime and have been watching it for as long as i can remember. i'm a fan of all genres! i won't judge a show BECAUSE it's a titty slice of life, but i WILL judge a show if that titty slice of life is just all around badly executed and annoying to watch.

i'm also big fan of cult classics, esp shows that i can unpack! two of my favorite directors are chiaki konaka and satoshi kon. im a sucker for deconstructions and weird artsy experimental stuff. at the very least, i can appreciate most anime as long as it feels like a genuine passion project and not a shitty soulless loli cash grab about girls working at a cafe or smth. recc me some edgy weird shit pls.

i also tend to be drawn to anime with unique art styles/aesthetics, like aku no hana, ping pong the animation, or gankutsuou. also, because of nostalgia, i have a weakness for cuter than life magical girl anime (and honestly just magical girls in general) & watch some cutesy kids anime to relax. children's shows like magical doremi fill me with pure unadulterated joy. <3

idc what anime u like- You Do You (unless you're a lolicon... if so. die). im always looking for ppl to talk about anime with bc i dont really have a lot of irl friends into it. if u wanna talk about why i'm WRONG for liking or disliking something, hmu n we can debate, or we can circlejerk each others opinion.

let me tell you why i think masaaki yuasa is Very Flawed as a Director (although i do respect and love much of his work).
