Art=6/Sound=9:
First of all, let's get the somewhat ugly art style and slightly above average animation out of the way; character designs that appear throughout the show are nothing special and usually their appearance reveals their personality before we even get to know them, every character seems basic and stereotyped to the max, even the MC has the classic shounen body scars to show he's been through some shit! Animation is very still typically but I can't deny that it becomes good and borderline great in action sequences! Sound wise, the OP, ED and OST ... are top notch, some of the best this season and probably this year! Voice acting is solid but doesn't stand out in any way to be honest.

Character=8/Story=7:
Although the characters are stereotyped heavily, I can't deny that I do love them and especially their chemistry and interactions as they all seem linked by the sport of sumo which can be seen as following a lot of shounen tropes but honestly it doesn't seem forced; also as a small guy, the MC makes me hype! The story is the typical, "I wanna be the best at something but I have a certain drawback so I'm gonna recruit some buddies and go on a journey until I learn to be the best I can be." Very simple underdog plot line but it's executed well enough that I'll let it slide

Overall=8:
Honestly this show is very simplistic and basic with minimal unique features; it mainly follows a very basic shounen route but yet, I can't help but enjoy it, and I enjoy it a LOT! I could give it a 6 or 7 but honestly, every time a new episode comes out, I find myself anticipating it and watching it instantly and that counts for more than anything else. Also, even if you hate sumo or know nothing about it, watch it because I think most would still enjoy it!

Who knew that the isekai genre could be saved by a fucking slime...

Art=7/Sound=8:
The art style in the anime can be seen as very basic for your typical isekai with some very little tweaks but honestly you can't fault a show for having a regular art style; however what stands out is that the animation is typically smooth and the action scenes so far (even though there haven't been many) have all been executed well! And thank fuck for NO FUCKING CGI goblins/monsters! Sound wise, the OST isn't mind blowing and neither is the OP but they are acceptable and borderline good but yet again I ... have to give props to the VAs for this anime, especially the slime's VA which completely matches the characters cute, lovable personality that makes you really cheer for it/him/her?

Characters=8/Plot=6:
Now although there haven't been many key characters introduced besides the slime, all the background characters are different yet likeable which is difficult to do; I find myself liking every character in every new episode, even the asshole characters! However, yet again, the slime shines through as easily one of the most likeable protagonist this season simply due to the fact that the MC doesn't follow a typical "I'm OP, lemme start a shitty harem and be a massive dick while beating the shit out of everything in my way!" I love Rimuru simply for the fact that he's genuinely a good and likeable character! Plot wise, the show has been average, maybe above average at best with some very familiar tropes early on although the introduction into the isekai is rather original and quite a cool concept! However, the freshness of the concept is later overshadowed by tropes that happen in every isekai; I understand that some of them are simple ways to world build etc. but it's been done so much that it ruins the excitement of wanting the plot to progress.

Overall=8:
Due to a lackluster plot and not enough indulgent into other characters besides the slime, this anime loses some points but it doesn't mean that it isn't one of the funnest and most enjoyable shows of the season because it fucking is! Honestly, I should probably lower the score to a 7 or so but I can't do that simply for my enjoyment factor and how awesome that adorable little slime is! (He really makes you root for him!)

Yet again, Studio Pierrot has bent the anime community over and fucked us...

Art/Sound:
The art and animation is basic with most of the action being goddamn slideshows essentially, it just doesn't reflect the manga's great art. However, the sound is actually good in general, especially the OP by TK and the voice acting.

Plot/Character:
120 chapters in 12 episodes... THERE IS NO FUCKING PLOT! I have read a bit of the manga and I'm still lost; it's too fast and we get no explanations or understanding of what's going on. Due to this pacing, all the characters that have been thrown at us get NO development although ... they seem cool and you really want to understand them.

Overall:
Honestly, I've given up on tokyo ghoul as an anime; it needs the brotherhood treatment badly. It baffles me how people are giving this shit 10/10s and 9/10s, I can't imagine how deluded they must be, this deserves a 5/10 at max! Please, do yourself a favor and read the manga.

A great continuation to an already great series...

Art=5/Sound=9:
The anime's main flaw is actually the art and animation, character designs are really basic and are constantly recycled throughout the anime, backgrounds look terrible and the effects seem cheap and out of place; in addition the animation is very rough and has very little flow which makes the show seem like a coloured manga with voice acting and music rather than an actual anime. However, when it comes to sound, this anime is fucking phenomenal! The OP is probably one of the best this season (Both OPs probably top 20 this year) and the soundtrack is ... perfect for every scenario; but we can't continue without mentioning the voice acting which is fantastic and helps to bring these characters to life and repairs the flaws created by the mediocre and borderline bad art and animations!

Characters=9/Plot=8:
The continuation to this already very intriguing story has been continued to be excecuted well and eventhough no major plot points have happened yet in the first episodes; there is nothing I can fault either. Furthermore, the characters are fucking great! I love EVERY character in the anime and most of them get a decent amount of development; it also helps that there are constant comedic moments throughout the show that make you love the characters even more. I also love how eventhough we get to see the funny side of most characters (especially the 2 main characters and even some "villains") every single character is a badass at will and the transition from comedy to drama is done very well, it's Gintama-like.

Overall=8:
Golden Kamuy's second season has delivered in every aspect aside from the dodgy animation/art and because of that it's definitely a top 10 anime this season (maybe even top 5).
PS: Sugimoto is probably one of the most badass MCs you will see this year!

A new awesome dark fantasy...

Art/Sound:
The art style in this anime is decent but nothing out of the ordinary for the fantasy/isekai genre, the animation so far has been consistent with some ok CGI in place that doesn't look horrendous surprisingly! It's definitely not on the shitty level that berserk (2016-2017) was! The sound is great all round, the OP and ED fits the show but what really stands out is the voice acting which in my opinion as it's some of the best this season. (The OST is solid also.)

Character/Plot:
There isn't really much story so far, however the backstories and hinted things that have occurred ... have been intriguing enough where it strengthens the overall plot. But in all honesty, the plot so far hasn't been great but rather just slaying goblins hence the fucking title (surprising right?) Every character has been great and likeable in my opinion even the horny little green shits this anime calls goblins but yet again there has been minimal development for now besides the MC. The MC so far is a basic badass with a tragic backstory but hey, I'm not complaining!

Overall:
It's a solid dark fantasy, it's not quite on par with its manga from what I've heard but so far it's definitely been enjoyable! I expect it to only get better from here and I'm not worried due to it being adapted by White Fox studios. Just a little notice; don't be a bitch about the rape and goriness in the anime, just don't watch the show if that disturbs you! I actually think these darker themes help to showcase the setting hence it being a "dark fantasy." Yeah, I'm edgy as fuck...

Just don't mess this up please...

Art/Sound:
The art and animation is phenomenal with outstanding lighting, detailed backgrounds and great character designs; the animation lacks some fluidity but is great overall. The sound is very good from the music to the voice acting to the OP.

Plot/Character:
The plot isn't complicated but rather is helped by the fantasy element of the anime, it isn't great but I can't argue that it's bad at all, the characters are generally well built with the MC being a typical shy girl that is common in hundreds of shows, yet for some reason, I can't seem to dislike her; mainly because of how ... good the relationships built between the characters are!

Overall:
The show is constantly interesting and the impressive visuals and lovable characters have me anticipating more. Please PA Works, don't fuck this up like you have with so many other shows with potential!
PS: I'm enjoying this more than I ever enjoyed Violet Evergarden.

The biggest surprise of this season...

Art/Sound:
The art style is appealing and fits the genre of the anime; giving me Oregairu vibes! The sound in general is great, the voice acting is some of the best you can get with a fun OP and ED.

Plot/Characters:
Plotwise, there isn't much but what we have is executed well enough where I can overlook the simplistic story. However, the characters are fucking phenomenal, they carry this anime throughout and resemble the Monogatari series' dialogue-heavy style that always keeps the viewer engaged.

Overall:
Every category for an interesting and enjoyable anime is ticked off and eventhough the plot is mediocre or decent at ... best, this flaw is overlooked by outstanding and memorable characters that make this anime so good!

Let's keep this review brief and to the point:

Art/Sound:
This anime has a very beautiful art style with some solid animation, in addition the music is placed well in key moments as well as both the OP and ED being beautiful

Characters/Plot:
The plot is simplistic and very basic, however it's executed very well and the characters are all likeable and feel realistic. Also, I love how the shoujo ai/yuri romance is portrayed; covering most of their emotions rather than lust as in other shows of this Genre.

Overall:
The anime is all-round solid and I've enjoyed the majority of my time watching it; there could be some tweaks made ... here and there but all in all, it's an enjoyable experience for any shoujo ai or romance fans!

This is my first review ever on MyAnimeList.

I am going to keep this review brief and cover the key points of Overlord II.

Overlord II is almost the opposite of what the original was all about, instead of being very action based and based on Lord Ainz, Overlord II takes a different approach with more world building, development and different perspectives in an Isekai.

The animation, although good doesn't really stand out in any way with the art style being the same as the original and the OST and OP being slightly worse in Overlord II than in the original.

If you prefer action-packed and fast paced anime ... similar to the first season, you won't enjoy this season as it has a much slower pace and focuses heavily on story-telling despite still retaining some quality action scenes.

Overall Overlord II is a good anime but it isn't going to be enjoyable for everyone due to its much slower pacing but it is still enjoyable.

If you like slow paced, developed story telling Overlord II is an 8/10

If you like fast paced, acion-packed anime Overlord II is a 5/10
