Both are anime made for otakus. You'll see a lot of meta references from the otaku culture or other popular anime that only the more knowledged fans can enjoy. They like to have fun, they often don't take themselves seriously, but those are part of these anime's appeals. Don't let the first glance fool you. No, Akiba's Trip is not just some trashy fanservice ecchi (by the way Akiba's trip fanservice tones down after the first one or two episodes), and Animegataris isn't just some generic high school club "fanservice" anime like that one review says. They're both enjoyable anime full of meta references that passionate anime fans can enjoy.
