I'd say give Diebuster a shot. It's pretty short. It doesn't have the same impact as Gunbuster (so I think calling it Gunbuster 2 kind of doomed it to always being compared to it) but at the time I thought it did it's own thing fairly well. Plus, GROOOOOOOOOOOOVIN' MAGIC.
You gonna watch Little Witch Academia the TV series? It starts airing in January!! I'll be following LWA and Kobayashi-san for sure (TRIGGER and KyoAni airing in the same season? hell fucking yes), and I think I'll check out Onihei because it mite be cool?
I don't really hang out here that much either but man, since I'm actually *watching* anime (as in, not stopping after the first episode every single time) I come here to remind myself what episode I left off on (specially when I take a long break after a quick binge). I also use this website (along with anidb) for staff info. My goal is to ONCE'N FOR ALL complete my backlog (which has drastically shortened from the looks of it) while also rewatching things from the past to see how I feel about them now. I'm currently exploring the magical girl genre and the mecha genre since I've ignored those for so long!!! Boutta start Mobile Suit Gundam finally.
D U D E - Read the Yokohama Kaidashi Kikou manga. I enjoyed the OVA but it's (a very close) second to the manga in terms of atmosphere. I forgot how slow-moving the YKK OVA actually was until I rewatched it after reading the manga. The manga really helps you appreciate the OVA in different way. Also: ENGLISH LICENSE FOR THE MANGA WHEN, AMERICA??????? I NEED IT ON MY SHELF.

nice! hahaha i think you'll be fine. i remember when i worked in the hoood they told me the 1st and the 15th of each month was super busy because that's when people get their checks. it was pretty busy, but it was tolerable. i worked pretty hard back in the day tho :D. you're a tough cookie (going with the sweets theme lol) you're gonna be fine!

I mean it's easy on the eyes and all, but it just feels kinda unnecessary. I'm watching kill la kill after I hype my brothers up about how awesome it's gonna be, and then they take a glance at me watching it and are like "oh so you thought this show was gonna be awesome because the main character fights in a half naked dress thing?". Haha it's one of those shows that you won't understand until you watch it though.
I feel like you're too bubbly of a personality for Satsuki though. You'll have to really nail that scowl and arrogance down haha. But I do know that you'll make an awesome uniform haha.
I know! I'm not even watching all the shows I want to watch yet (like Little Busters Refrain, Ippo S3, Kuroko no Basket S2, and Log Horizon). But the ones I'm watching right now are pretty good, with the exception of Yuusha being not as good as Hataraku no Maou-sama.
So I watched the first episode of Kill la Kill. After I stopped thinking about why her outfit is so weird, I really enjoyed the episode. Looks really really epic and crazy.
