No worries at all! I mean, I've had those times where I've been absent for a long time as well. Totally understandable. I still remember you, but perhaps not what we've mostly talked about lol. But I'm glad to hear from you. I've been seeing you around Twitter, heh. XD Just some of your retweets here and there (I totally don't mind you sending a DM there, too if you want!).
Sad to hear it's getting harder, but I hope you get to push through it or at least feel more lighter. Hope you feel better soon!
I've gotten a better job, yes. This is my third one for... almost 4 years of working. Glad to find something that is not -too- mundane and pays well lol. How about you, if you don't mind sharing? :D I feel like we've only talked mostly about our school life before. XD
I got infected this January! I was already vaccinated, but me and fam had to get booster back then but ironically we all caught it. Nothing serious, just usual cough and fever. Glad you survived it!
Hope you're all well <3
Actually I just started using my laptop again, easier to type here than on the phone (Lowkey I feel bad for you that I'm making you reply on your phone, it must be kinda hard to)
I only use MAL in desktop version.
My discord is Karote#3098
Live action drama? What's your favorite one right now? Haven't seen too much of those tbh but there are few I'm interested in but haven't picked up yet.
Violet Evergarden is alright, might make you cry in some of the episodes. It definetly made me cry in one and animation is godlike. Haven't seen My dress up darling, only saw first 2 episodes then I stopped for some reason but I think it's good as well yeah, tell me about it when you do end up watching it.
Why specifically Sasuke x Hinata ship? xD That's an interesting one .. haven't seen too much people liking that ship.
Hell yeah, I'm a fast reader so my fingers are more likely to get tired from constant scrolling on reading webtoons because dialogue really is so short. (Which is a good thing, what a pain to read long essays in the manga, right? :D)
Oh well, you seem to be interested in other stuff than anime but that's fine, I guess you just prefer what other 2 countries (China/Korea) offer? lol.
It's definetly a challenge to be motivated for anything when you're busy in your every day life except weekend and even then, you just feel like relaxing on your weekend. But it's all about willpower I guess, if you really wanted something then you would do it. Easier to do nothing and just be content with whatever you have. Of course I don't believe in anything is possible though :D
anilist is a new site indeed but it's been here for like 6 years already I believe? It's just gotten popular, especially amongst teenagers due to how fancy the site is and how you can customise everything. I prefer MAL because it's simple and nice boomer vibes
You're right about connecting with other people is harder with age gap, we're in similar age as well so that's nice.
English is my 2nd language but my country isn't that well reversed in it, only younger generation can speak it decently. Anyone older than 35 and they won't speak English at all (they know Russian instead) How's it like in your country? Does everyone speak some level of English?
Then I won't hold back and write as much as it feels right to me. Don't feel pressured to reply everything quickly though.
No problem, I mean I also once had terrible English so I'm not judging anyone.
EXACTLY, I love talking online, I can re-write as much as I want, I can edit it, I can take my time.
Yeeaahhhh, I mean irl people just go on with their conversation and if you miss your chance to contribute to the conversation then you just miss it forever.
I need time to think what exactly to say and even then I'm unsure if I should say it or not? All kinds of thoughts invade your mind. (Introvert problems XD)
Do you speak very little irl?
That's probably true, I just stutter even if I know the word crystal clear how to say it correctly but I still manage to say it wrongly. Sometimes I feel so embarassed by that and try to laugh it off. Honestly listening irl is much easier than talking xD
Interesting, you wanted to be the ear to those who needed it. That someone makes a point, if they were that easily confessable to anyone then they wouldn't be ''secrets'' anymore :^) Eeehhhhh, no worries, no worries, I have had many usernames that were cringe worthy and dramatic as well :D
Mmm, don't think it's depressing. Many people probably live the same way, including me. Except I do have goals and many things I wish to achieve but I'm far too lazy, I wake up every morning without a reason, I just wake up and do my thing. At least you have hobbies/interests you enjoy doing right?
That always helps, or close friends to talk to. I personally don't think you need a meaning to life, you just do what makes you happy.
Wellllll, I have moved countries like 5 times by now, last 4 times by myself so I'm quite used to this lifestyle. Would you ever move countries or you can't see that as a possibility?
Monday indeed sucks, I always can't wait for Friday to come again (which is tomorrow, yay!)
Likewise, take care of yourself and talk to you next time~
Many things happened since last year, especially pandemic is almost gone and things are coming back to normal, although worse with all the recession and inflation. I just hope you've been doing well, so far I have a stable work-from-home job that pays the bills, so I am fine I guess, though I'm feeling like I'm wasting away, adrift from things I wanted to do when I was younger. I guess dreams are just really made to be broken, huh.
I'm seeing less movies now and I'm also trying to get into books again, or manga hopefully. I'm currently reading Eden: It's an Endless World rn but I'm not feeling it, it's probably a slow burn though. Do you also read books? Like actual books and not stuff in the internet haha
About Hotel Del Luna, I think it's just fine. IU is one of my favorite artist of all time, and I think I've watched all her recent shows after Hotel Del Luna, haven't seen the older ones, but I prefer My Mister, I think she excelled on that show more than Hotel Del Luna. Her acting on her new full-length Broker is also good as well!
As of other shows I'm sorry, I seldom watch tv shows nowadays. The only thing I'm watching now are western shows like Seinfeld and Cobra Kai. Seinfeld whenever I'm stressed at work and Cobra Kai, I just watch it just to finish the story haha. Maybe sometime I'd try chinese shows, since I also watch Chinese movies btw, recently I watched Tsai Ming Liang's The River and Zhang Yimou's Sniper.
Good luck on your work and may you enjoy all your shows!
Oh cool, I also read a ton of webtoons, they are pretty easy to read and are usually colored.
Not sure either, I don't really try to make friends anymore, anilist is becoming popular amongst younger generation due to how fancy and customisable it is, I once tried making friends there but everyone was under 18 so I felt too old for that, lol.
Do you like long responses then? I can write less if it's too much. But good for you, you can practise your English more with your friends (but I think your English seems pretty good, wouldn't notice you struggle with it or anything)
I always use phone, I just moved countries for work so I have almost nothing in my new place, how about you?
Hmmm, nope, haven't been teased for being soft since I don't really show it :))))
Well, writing essays online even though you're quiet as hell irl is just fine, it's easier to get our thoughts, feelings and what are we trying to convey much better through online plus we have unlimited time to do it (technically) words get lost in me when I speak irl and I stutter, I overthink everything looool.
Impressive trap, I have totally fallen in it, I must salute you for that, truly admirable (kidding if you're kidding too :D)
To be honest I didn't think it was creepy, I got the meaning of your username and I'm also pretty much a listener irl but yeah, can imagine why your old username sounds creepy too, listening to other people's conversations and keeping yourself as a secret, damn :D
Hmmmm, you dont have passion for anything right now?
No problem, likewise, thanks for replying so quick but you can take your time if you wish (just not 2 years lol)
Same, I barely talk to people, I can add you on discord if you want.
Thanks, have a good week yourself~
Yeah, people on MAL are pretty social, have found many friends here over the years.
Did you change your bio again or left it as it is? I think I remember a small bit, probably the listener part got me to add you AND I felt we are a bit similar, I'm very quiet irl and too soft for my own good.
Oh that's unfortunate, I guess makes sense, you changed as a person, was it experience with people over time that made you burnt out?
Indeed, you started it off with "Dear, Latvian" so I thought somebody might be writing troll comment to me lol.
I'll reply, I have nothing much to do anyways and I don't know if you'll reply again but I'm willing to give it a shot, thanks for replying to me and have a nice day•
.
P.S Sorry for shitty grammar, phone keyboard is hard getting used to
I hope you're doing good right now, especially with your mental health. (hugs)
Right now, I already have two years of work experience, and just resigned recently. Lol.
What's going on with you lately?
Hope you are staying safe in these times, cheers~
Yeah, live action is much more interesting now, I guess it's true anime mainly caters to children and youth, and a fraction of adults. Manga I enjoy still though!
Ah, kdramas, my mother is so addicted to those hahaha, we recently watched Hotel Del Luna, probably my latest kdrama too. I'm also planning to watch Reply 1988 as soon as I get access to it. Do you watch movies as well? Because me I don't frequently watch series heh, it's too long for me.
They eased up quarantine probably because they need to keep the economy going. It's a neoliberal economy so our govt can't sustain our needs and in the end relies on the private sector. that's why they can't afford to do total lockdown, and without mass testing we can't flatten the curve.
We have good amount of canned goods but fortunately there's still markets so we buy fresh food there. I doubt they will close markets because people can't eat without it. Our government also buy from them.
LOL I just listened to that thanks for the rec, I like red velvet i'm a fan, guess I'm not keeping up lately with the members' side projects lol, the music is good, and the mv is funny haha, and I like that it's filmed in 4:3, i prefer that aspect ratio than widescreen.
I've been out on anime series for a while now, since I left MAL I guess. The last series I've probably watched was Psychopass s3 along the movies, just to continue what I've started. It's still the same sucky psycho-pass that I've watched before lmao. I also started watching GTO but I don't feel like binge watching it so I watch an episode a time. So lately I've been into live action than anime really hahaha, my list tells me I've watch about 50 already since this year, my record best probably lol. How about you? Are you still keeping up with anime?
There hasn't been a total lockdown in my place (Philippines), just a partial one that they call enhanced community quarantine. but this de facto lockdown was lifted last 2 days, and people are rushing to stores already... so a second wave is highly expected here, considering the curve is not flattening in our case.
I'm glad you liked stardust night and push, they're really great songs. Lately I've also stumbled to monochrome by minako yoshida, anything else is kpop really like I started to listen to more Wonder Girls lmao
I've listened to Muzie today (sorry I haven't listened to it till now lmao), and Lady 2 is a good city pop song, I admit. It's just I have reservations against the resurgence of city pop (or any retro-style aesthetic) in today's mainstream, because I abhor the retro or what I see as the vhs filter movement in general lol. I just hate the idea people are using their creativity not to innovate new stuff for progress but force themselves getting stuck in the past. It's just a reactionary aesthetic position if you ask me lol.
Kind of ironic for someone who likes old stuff. But those old stuff is the new back then. Now the new is retracted to the old. I'm just wishing the new music would create better stuff than what was made before, since that's the very reason I hate new music nowadays, they're no better than before.
So I was like other people who found city pop because of youtube recommending Plastic Love for some reason, haha. Got interested and here we are. I always liked the 80s genre esp. synths and disco, and city pop has like the mix of all the good stuff 80s music has to offer, haha.
Favorite city pop song? hmm, lately I've been so obsessed with kpop and I haven't listened to city pop lately, hahaha. But whenever I want to listen to city pop I usually go to Noriko Miyamoto's Push, it's such a great album. My Life is my favorite song there, as others would probably as well. Haha. Stardust Night by Jadoes is one of the songs I liked lately as well.
How about you?
