A childhood fantasy coming true; taking the greatest minds through history and bringing them together to fight a common enemy that seek to destroy the world they have been brought to. But what exactly are they fighting and who is the strange man in the middle standing behind a desk?
Disclaimer: If you wish upon a short summery, read the last paragraph.
Story----8/10----
The story is introduced by following Toyohisa Shimazu-chan as he is effortlessly beheading his enemies. The tides turned on him and his clan, leading to a tactical retreat. However, Toyohisa say fuck it, and decides to take the head of the general from the opposing

clan. He is somewhat successful but to the price of lethal wounds. Walking toward his death because open wounds and blood loss, suddenly he is taken to another world and thrown into a world of unknown and asked to save it.
Personally, I love this story idea, it's something I have been dying to see and now it is here. We are introduced to a number of different famous generals, leaders, fighters that have walked this earth. The one that come to this world are called Drifters. An unknown antagonist is also introduced with mysterious followers that hold the same or even greater power than the Drifters but are strangely alike.
One may think that the story develops a bit slow, and there is just this huge atmosphere of "I don’t know what's going on but it’s epic" for a couple of episodes but then it turns to a "This is hella epic I just want to see Toyohisa all the time."
In addition, the pacing can be seen as slow for some people, however I wanna deny that and say the pacing is almost perfect, almost.
Art----10/10----
I love the art and the animation is really good in my opinion. The art style is perfect for the show and somehow it’s really pleasing for the eye to watch. It also correspond with the manga art-style so the anime really feels like an actual adaptation instead of something else. From my POV, the animations were all good, I didn’t notice any major failures, but from experience there is probably a few scenes lacking in the sense of good animation.
Sound----9/10----
I didn't really pay that much attention to the sound like I'd do to other animes, but it was good, the voice actors did a great job, Nakamura Yuuichi did an awesome job with Toyohisa as well as Uchida Naoya for Nobunaga to state an example.
OST and OP were good, especially the opening. I had the feeling of loss every time they skipped the opening and the background music to the fight that happened were all fitting.
Character----9/10----
I won't say much here, I enjoyed all the 3 protagonists and they were showcased with their own set of problems from before they became Drifters. The voice actors did a great job, but instead of "the voice made the character" it became more like the voice actors enhanced the character and improving them and giving them more depth.
Enjoyment----10/10----
For me this was one of the top contenders for Best Anime Fall 2016, in the aspect of enjoyment and how appealing the story, plot and art is, as well as, the outstanding job by the voice actors.
Overall----9/10----
My overall objective score will be 8,5/10, rounded to 9/10. To summarize; Outstanding art, appealing story and good plot development, exciting voice acting as well as epic fights and enjoyable comedy.
