m a very lucky hikikomori who would love to work as an illustrator/animator or at least see himself drawing well to be able to move forward and try to find some meaning in life, but who s incapable of doing anything well, so he spends his time appreciating all the works he consumes and writhing in remorse for not having even a minimal high school education and being socially rubbish :(

my genre preferences are: drama > sci-fi > slice of life > thriller/suspense > fantasy > isekai > comedy > supernatural > mystery > romance > action (i dont like spokon and although i dont seek out romance and its very low in my preferences, i love romance as a subgenre)
my production preferences are: characters > direction > story+pacing+telling > world-building > creativity > animation > character design > OST > etc.

i score each series by comparing it with others of the same genre, type or style, taking into account what it has made ME feel, how much it has made me think, how much it has impacted me and that kind of things that you do when evaluating, also clarify that my note is not definitive and is usually more powerful and precise when certain months have passed depending on the strength of the message of the work or depending on what i have been left with after its broadcast, that is to say that my entire list is susceptible to little changes depending on the moment in which i catch myself.

ratings on my list:
*favorites = if an anime "changed my life" (those anime that taught me and made me change my perspective or see it through different eyes, and that made me love the medium even more than i already did)
*10 = works that have been and continue to be very important to me.
*9 = anime that i really, really liked ^-^ (series that i love)
*8 = almost at the level or degree of the previous conditions.
*7 = this is usually the average rating for any anime that i havent fallen in love with, but is good enough to get a good good rating :)
*6 = these are usually recaps, series/movies from my childhood that i love, special episodes, OVAs/ONAs extra, or series that dont meet the previous conditions.
*5 = mostly anime that i probably consumed when i started and used to follow the mainstream, or in general, series that are okay (that is, they pass) but that today i wouldnt watch them again or give them a second chance in most cases.
*1-4 = these are usually just shows i watched in my childhood or early days, which i dont usually remember much about or havent given enough value or importance to give them another chance. they are generally pretty bad shows that didnt do anything for me or really caught my attention at any point during their run.

finally, i usually rate from 6 to 10 because, imo, and based on how i usually consume anime, i tend to watch things that interest me at their core. that is, i take into account from the very beginning the animation studio, the staff, the animation, character design/adaptation of the manga to anime, whether the manga has been highly reviewed, whether its premise appeals to me, etc. so, since i dont usually consume bad or decent content AT OWN WILL, its very rare that i give it a score lower than 6 unless a lot of time passes and, as i watch more anime and have rated more from time to time, i lower some of them below 6.
