Trigun Stampede? It's 12 episodes long and my friend from Oklahoma said it was OK. I prefer the Yasuhiro Nightow manga for overall content
While I have no interest in watching Stampede, I still like the fact that extra Maximum copies were printed out not too long ago.
I kind of wished that Trigun Maximum would get adapted into movies with animations and CGI comparable to those of EVA Rebuild movies. Trigun Maximum movies would be the graphic novel movies that I would put over superhero flicks. There are many awesome indie comics that deserve adaptations as well and I wish that a League of Extraordinary Gentlemen anime could be as possible as that of Witchblade. One that is more canon than that FOX movie.
At least future Macross content will be cinematic and I would sure love to see explosive special effects like that of Blue Submarine no. 6 (one of the first anime that I've seen with CGI besides Cowboy Bebop, Geneshaft and Zoids). In other words, get a lot of real talent.
You should download a copy of Instant Japanese by the legendary Boyé Lafayette de Mente some time. Perfect for everyone, even a child and another another awesome book without any kanji that I would recommend is 80/20 Japanese. With either of those books, your Japanese will be right on the money.
As for kanji, you could take screenshots of some manual written in Mandarin, then somehow copy and paste those characters onto Nihongodera anytime.
Oh! I used to watch it on Adult Swim too and I re-watched it at around that week I was reading Trigun Maximum.
The sequel of Silent Möbius is nice by the way, but it requires serious Japanese reading.
I also plan to use Japanese for some cool stuff that I'll buy from Playasia like Turn A Gundam on Blu-ray. I'll also need Japanese for getting my PhD in another country at any time.
By the way, I'm glad to hear that Maaya Sakamoto reprised her role in the recent Gundam SEED movie. A semitomboy that I haven't seen in ages probably watched that movie without subtitles. Her being part tomboy makes it easier for her to enjoy sci-fi and now she's married to a Chinese man who also loves Star Blazers.
As we can see, Sakamoto-san's future acting roles will still be mostly non-anime and she's got a family.
Have you been studying Japanese too and what do you love most about Trigun?
Your birthday is practically next door to my semitomboyish friend from North Carolina. She is kind of a bibliophile and she read a lot of manga I've never heard of.
Silent Möbius QD is the most obscure manga I've read so far.
