This review is short but I want to let anyone who's reading this to know that I know close to nothing about the Touhou series and the things I know come from the adult doujin, and that's still only about the characters' names.
On its own, this anime is great. It has great animation, great music, and you can totally tell the ones who worked on it poured everything they've got into this series. Each episode is as short as 16 minutes, not including a minute for a recap, a minute for the opening and another one minute for the ending. So roughly about 12-13 minutes
...
of actual content. I see a lot of people say "for a fan project this is good" to which I have to strongly disagree. To call this "good for a fan project" is outright discrediting and disrespecting the creators of the show. I mean, the quality is on par with any "official" anime you get at every season, like, come on.
Although short, I learned a lot about the world of Touhou, the characters' personalities and abilities, origins, motives, and each of their roles in Gensoukyou. Keep in mind that each episode is only 13 minute long and they manage to convey what Touhou is for new comers and fan service or some sort for regulars. At the very least the show got me curious enough to finally open the Touho wiki and I think it's amazing how they can pack in all that lore into 18 short episodes!
Is the story accurate? Touhou fans can decide that and while I'm not one of them, it's great and interesting enough for me to give this a 7/10. If only they add in voice actors it would've made this show even better, but there's a way to circumvent that though I won't say how.

I finally had the chance to watch Suzume no Tojimari and it was quite the experience. After watching it I can say with a high certainty that it's... good. Let's just jump right into it. This review doesn't contain spoiler, so you can relax.
If you're wondering about the story, just watch the trailer and you basically get the gist of things. Following his previous work, Suzume no Tojimari also tells a story about our protagonists (Suzume and Souta) save Japan from imminent danger. Already this plot made me roll my eyes when the movie started. I'm sorry to say this, I want to like Shinkai
...
Makoto's movies, I really do, but he's making it very hard for me. In fact, I really like Kotonoha no Niwa due to its simple premise yet deep character interaction and development. I enjoyed Kimi no Na Wa too but it's not one of my favorites and Tenki no Ko is his weakest work yet. This is my opinion, but I think Shinkai Makoto is best to stick with slice of life type of movies and not apocalyptic ones.
The characters in this movie are also quite shallow. Calm down and let me elaborate. Every single character is introduced as a nice person and stays that way from start to finish. There's no ups and downs that force the characters to grow. Dare I say they are all bland, with no seasonings. Because of how the movie is written, characters move from point A to point B, clearing the objective that is closing the Doors (gates) and their relationship doesn't go beyond that. I'm quite disappointed with how the characters are written to be honest.
As with all Shinkai Makoto's work, this movie has amazing background art and animation. The music and sound effects are top notch, as well. Every scene is an eye candy and a treat, and the animation makes the movie feel alive. Character design-wise, meh, not so much. Kimi no Na Wa is my favorite style and this one is alright, I guess.
Should you watch Suzume no Tojimari? If you want to, then yeah. But it's not an amazing movie as a whole.

I was looking for a spicy yuri manga and stumbled upon this gem. If you think the art looks similar, it's because this is the same artist that draws Tada dewa Dakaremasen, which their art style has significantly improved.
Our protagonist, Nanasawa Nana (25) is caught in a time slip after "getting off" at a nearby park after meeting up with her senior as well as a girl whom she was and still is in love with back in high school, Seto Aya. Finding herself in the past, she accidentally meets Aya who is still in her high school and saves her from a coming motorcycle
...
about to hit her. It is all good for Nana until she meets her younger self. Now she has to hide her real identity from her senior AND herself.
Okay, there is grooming in this manga. The fanservice in this manga doesn't come from 'lucky perv' situations but rather 'Nana (25) having her way with young Seto'. If that puts you off then you shouldn't read this manga, but it is a treat for those who enjoy age gap romance with ecchi in it.
The story starts off simple, but later gets better with developments as it progresses. It's nothing complicated but interesting enough to get you click on the next chapter button.
The art is sexy but honestly can look a bit weird sometimes. Awkward camera angle, weirdly drawn proportion are here and there from time to time. They don't really get in the way most of the time, but it can look a bit weird. Now, the boobs. This artist knows how to draw large breasts with attractive nipples. That in and of itself is a great selling point and a reason why you should read this manga (if you don't mind age gap thing).
Final verdict, 8/10. Sexy, spicy, alluring breasts and situations.

Okay, I've only read up to the latest chapter translated which is chapter 15 and I'm going to say this is the most confusing manga I've ever read.
Here's a short synopsis: our protagonist, Soraike Mei, had her love confession rejected by a girl she loved back in high school. Now that Mei is a university student, she embarks on a new journey to find mutual love (between girls of course). That's the premise of this manga and that's the only thing that has been happening since the very first chapter. Mei meets different girls and feels she is in love with each and every
...
single one of them, depending whom she is with, hence the title "I Don't Know which One is Love".
Sounds simple enough? Wrong. Don't let the short synopsis fool you. Nothing in this manga makes any sense. For starters, there doesn't seem to be a 'plot' in this manga. What I mean by that is, things happen just because. Nothing triggers them, nothing causes them, nothing to resolve. Every chapter is about 20 pages long of basically nothing. There are dialogues, yes, there are events going on, sure, but nothing feels cohesive. Those things are just... there. The dialogues don't feel connected and it's always vague when an arc starts/ends.
It sounds like I despise this manga, but believe it or not, I don't. I'm just so confused. I can't remember all the characters' names because of how detached they are from the story.
Final verdict, 6/10.

I'm going to be blunt about this, I'm disappointed in Dosanko Gal wa Namara Menkoi or Hokkaido Gals are Super Adorable (Dosanko Gal moving forward). If you go to the manga page on this site, you'll notice it has 'Romantic Subtext' as its theme. Don't be misled by it, because this manga is anything but.
Dosanko Gal starts off strong. Our protagonist Shiki Tsubasa has just moved to Hokkaido and doesn't know his way there yet. Then he meets a gal (gyaru) named Fuyuki Minami and as it turns out they are in the same school and in the same class even. We basically have
...
Minami showing Tsubasa the rope around, introducing snacks, drinks, things, events and many more that one can only find in Hokkaido for the first 20 chapters. This manga should have stayed being just that.
The problem starts to rise as new characters (heroines) are introduced. It's as though the author shifts gear instantly to make it a harem series. Nothing wrong with harem, but the way the author introduces new characters doesn't feel natural, it feels haphazard. Like, couldn't you have made it less obvious? You can't have a harem manga with no conflict, which is another problem this manga has.
I like to call this 'pseudo conflict'. This manga makes the most trivial issue as the foundation of a conflict. When reading, I find myself asking, well, myself, 'how in the world is this a conflict?' a lot of times. Not to mention, the way a conflict is solved is always in the worst way possible. It leaves no satisfaction when a character overcomes a conflict. The transition between arcs is always rough. You wouldn't realize a new arc has started and you wouldn't know an arc has ended.
The characters themselves don't feel natural. They feel artificial. I'm not going to tell which girl likes Tsubasa because that will be a spoiler, but they are very vague with themselves. Always second-guessing themselves. It's frustrating to read. Because the characters don't feel natural, the dialogues don't feel natural either. It's a domino effect.
All in all, Dosanko Gal isn't the worst. It's bad because it started off really good.
Final verdict, 6/10.

Okay, I am no stranger to Hololive and its talents. I've reviewed the other two, so I might as well review this one. No TL;DR in this one since this is going to be a short review.
Basically a Hololive fan wet dream. The plot is about how Gawr Gura started her streaming career with cameos of some of her streaming friends. No dialogues, just """"cute"""" noises and grunts every now and then. Animation is close to a powerpoint presentation, don't expect anything, but since this is a youtube animation project I deem this acceptable.
If you're a Hololive fan, then you will definitely like this.
...
If you aren't, like me, then this won't be of your interest.
5/10, average.

Okay sit down you lot, this is a good anime. Currently there are 3 episodes as of writing and my view will very highly likely change and I will update when that happens.
The story is generic. A boy who is smart but bad at one thing, in this case summoning a familiar. Long story short, he got himself a familiar who's a powerful, sexy, voluptuous Onee-san demon. Being a demon, she's very powerful. Unbeknownst to himself, the boy possesses a very strong magic, hence why no familiars heed his call. How original. The characters are... shallow. This is an ecchi anime, we don't need
...
deep, rich, thought provoking characters with mind-boggling motives and goals.
Generic as it may, it's not bad. In fact, it feels so generic that you can just not pay too much attention to the story and instead focus on the best part of what this series has to offer: the art. Surprisingly, this anime is very well animated. Choppy frames every now and then, but no cgi animation so far. There's just something about the art style that just pulls you in. Sound is nothing too out of the ordinary, so expect nothing and you will not be disappointed.
Overall, this show feels "okay" at the moment, but in a good way, like "okay, that is good". I highly recommend you to check this one out. Thank you for reading.

Back at it again with the yuri manga review. Today, I will be talking about Dekisokonai no Himegimi-tachi. Let's get right into it.
The story ultimately boils down to this: a very unpopular girl from a very unpopular group meets a very popular girl from a very popular group due to an unexpected circumstance. Plot wise, it's been done a thousand times already, but what truly matters is the execution. To put it bluntly, I don't think it is executed that well. Most drama feels forced and really depends on coincidences a lot. Not only that, the way they resolve most drama is by either 'letting
...
it go' or 'forgive someone/yourself', and although there are only 40 chapters, it gets repetitive quite fast.
The characters are not bad, but they aren't good either. Each character has this deep regret and some sort of dark past which lead them to be the person they are now. Due to that regret, they strive to become a better person by not repeating the same mistake ever again. This is not bad per se and I sort of get what the writer is trying to convey, but a great character backstory does not necessarily need childhood trauma. Like the story, characters are really dependent on their past way too much that it's starting to feel like that's all there is to them.
I read this manga while sitting on toilet stall as a means of passing time and, all in all, I enjoyed reading it. There was a lot of times when I thought, 'not this again' and 'no way did that happen out of coincidence', though.
As a closing statement, if you're looking for a great drama with little bits of yuri, then this is not it. On the other hand, if you want something short just to pass time then you can try reading this. Thank you for reading.
Final verdict: 7/10, not a great drama.

Let me get this out of the way: I've read 234 chapters of Komi-san before dropping it. Make of that what you will.
I'm just going to address this manga as 'Komi-san' as the majority of people know what the title is. There will be spoilers, but since this manga is very popular you shouldn't care anyway.
When I first started reading Komi-san, I was blown away. It was unique and so very fresh. The first 20 chapters were great. 50 chapters in and still going strong. Reaching 100 chapters, I began to feel as though the humor was getting repetitive. Finally, after 200 chapters, I realized
...
that this manga offers nothing more than poorly, repetitive comedy. By the time an anime adaptation was announced, I had already given up; knowing for sure that this series is beyond salvation.
Good characters you say? Okay, let's take Komi-san for example. Well, she has a communication disorder. It's not that she does not want to interact with other people, it's just that she can't. Okay, so this manga tells us the journey of her trying to overcome this disorder. Can you believe Komi-san speaks 'normally' only after 200 chapters and the only person she was able to do that with was Manbagi. Not Tadano who has been helping her since chapter 1, not her mother or father or brother who are literally her family; it was Manbagi. You see where I'm going here? I picked a recent chapter randomly and guess what? She still 'speaks' using her notebook. To be fair, she is practicing to speak normally from time to time, but she still acts fidgety even near her friends whom she is familiar with. It does not make sense.
This manga is wholesome you say? Komi-san is what I would call 'pseudo wholesome'. It's not real. Basically slapping romantic moments out of nowhere when it's not necessary.
The art is fine, not the prettiest and not the worst. I guess you can say it's unique in a way. What's annoying are the panels and speech bubbles. Before anyone tell me, yes I know that's the 'quirk' of this manga, you don't need to tell me or even shout. However it still annoys me and you can't tell me otherwise.
In conclusion, if you plan to read this manga then I suggest you to read only up to 100 chapters. More than that everything dries up. Many people call this a masterpiece and to be honest I can't see them being serious. The jokes aren't funny, they are very repetitive, the speech bubbles are annoying, and definitely not a masterpiece; not even close.
Final verdict: 6/10.

I'm just going to tell you right off the bat that you should read this manga.
Our main character Mashiro Oto is mute and has just transferred into a new school. She gained lots of attractions at first, but the people around her soon found it inconvenient talking with her as she replied to their greetings using a sketchbook. She is then left alone and kept thinking that it's her fault. Sitting right next to her is the unfriendly looking girl called Kokosaki Kikuno, and she has been listening to Mashiro's thought for the past week and is feeling down due to the negativities festering
...
in Mashiro's mind. Long story short, the two become friends.
What I like the most from this manga is not its art. To put it bluntly, the art is not the greatest. The greatest thing that ever comes out of this manga is its characters. Imagine how inconvenient it is for you to write an answer/reply on your sketchbook every time someone asks you something simple, like what you had for breakfast, did you go anywhere during the weekend etc. Very, inconvenient. What I'm trying to say is, Mashiro does her best to interact with the people around her but never has enough time to react to anything. So usually, she just writes very casual replies which makes her seem not interested in the topic or just gives up writing anything altogether. There's just so much she wants to put into 'words' but can't due to her condition, and Kokosaki knows this the most. She knows Mashiro wants to express herself more, to be more opened to other people, and have a 'conversation' with everyone around her, so using her ability to 'hear' people's thoughts, she 'listens' to what Mashiro 'has to say'. Seeing Kokosaki helping Mashiro from the shadow, pretending to be oblivious to Mashiro's intention puts a big smile on my face.
This manga is very enjoyable and each chapter is short (9-11 pages), so it's great even if you don't have much time for reading. All in all, I suggest you to read this manga.
