Haha I've only ever played one FE game to completion but it was really good, and such a waste of time :'D

It's not all bad but it has gotten progressively more difficult over the years, right now it feels like all I can muster to just drag myself across the finish line. Having said that though I think uni maths is quite different and much more interesting than what they teach at school, I remember the A-level feeling like a horror show at times.

Well that sounds like an experience! You must have become a pro at analysing and stuff. I remember enjoying the discussion part of English lessons at school but hating the essay-writing, and ever since then I've avoided essay-based subjects like the plague lol. It's giving me flashbacks just thinking about it D:

I'm doing maths, and I'm in my fourth and final year of an integrated masters. It's pretty horrific atm, but yeah I'm definitely feeling better about this project now that I've spent a couple of days doing other stuff. Tbh I have a feeling I'm also going to be reading it back in a few years' time thinking the same as you XD

Nice, I always tell myself that I'll start reading regularly and then never do, OTL English lit sounds interesting, but did it actually put you off reading? D: How did you find it on the whole?

Oh so you actually had quite a bit of exposure growing up then! The only anime I really saw on TV as a kid was Pokemon, and even that was sporadic at best. I guess Haruhi is a bit odd for a first series, but I actually stumbled upon it because of my former all-consuming love of Ace Attorney :3 They did an Ace Attorney parody/homage episode, I remember finding it one day on Youtube and thinking it was so amazing that they'd even consider doing something that :'D

Hahah yep, art style is really a non-issue for me in most cases. Most mech series seem mind-numbingly boring to me too so we're agreed on that, lol.

Really? My first non-movie was Haruhi Suzumiya, I think Death Note might have been the 10th or something XD I recently rewatched it though and realised why it's considered such a classic, I think everyone should see it at least once. I feel like over here the only anime that really gets much attention in the mainstream (like on TV and such) is Ghibli stuff and certain kids' shows like Pokemon/DBZ, quite a few people I know started off with some combination of those. Re: Yamadas, personally I'm not too picky about art style and whatnot, I find I barely even take notice of it unless it's at an extreme of some sort. It sounds awesome, I'm adding it to my ptw on the strength of your recommendation :D And yes subs always :3

To be honest, I'm a bit socially awkward (as you might be able to tell lol) so I find being on a group with so many people like that a bit much sometimes. I think you're onto something there though, lurking more and occasionally chiming in sounds like a good way forward, lol.

Oh, well colour me surprised.. I've even seen Stinghy around on the tracker and Discord and whatnot, but I had no idea XD I guess it makes sense though since I don't really hang around on Discord much.

Same, Gintama took me ages to get into properly but now I'm glad to have stuck with it :') I've been trying to keep up with the last arc but I think I might just wait for it to be fully over until I attempt it again. It's gonna be so weird when it's actually over for good...

I think Spirited Away was the first anime I ever saw, so the nostalgia filter is pretty strong with that one lol. Satsuki and Mei are adorable! <3 I've not actually seen My Neighbours the Yamadas but it sounds like good fun XD

It is a pretty good affinity isn't it? And you have Gintama and Ghibli in your favourites too so I have a feeling we'll get along well :D
