FE could never be a waste of time o: which game was it?
I suppose that's to be expected, the harder it is, the better you are at it ;D Yeah I think I'm alright at analysing, but then you kind of start to do with everything so like, sometimes I read too much into texts and what people say which isn't always great lol. I don't mind essays, practice makes perfect. I really dislike exams so I think English was a pretty good choice for me in that regard.
Don't think about it D:
The anime society was fab, it's where I made most of my friends ^^ I'm really bad at staying in touch with people, but some of the friends I made there are some of my favourite people, but then we all moved away after uni finished wah DX hbu? Are you a member of any societies?
I'm like that when I play Fire Emblem games >< I hate losing precious characters so if anyone dies I always soft reset, it's so time consuming DX
wew bravo, final year always feels so momentous. Maths tho? Is it super hard? I remember deciding to do A-level Maths after finding gcse level super easy, but I gave up after half a year hehe
It did, I had to read a lot of books that I had no interest in. One book, which I can't remember the name of, was so dull I fell asleep reading it in the middle of the day DDD: I never fall asleep in the day! I've recuperated now though, it just took 3 years of reading manga and then finding it hard to find more manga to read lol
Overall it was fine, the subject was standard and English Lit is a very independent course, we go off and read books by ourselves and then analyse them for essays so it was quite lonely in seminars and lectures but I had 1 or 2 friends which was fine by me, but then those lectures where you have no one is boring T ^T I joined an anime society so that was fine ^^
I did think about doing that, but I want to have a proper discussion regarding that issue with everyone. If it was just the coordinators, through the feedback form, it would just be "well, there's no real solution" which I KNOW is untrue and don't want to hear. At all.
Idk if you've seen the announcement they put up on Discord about chat rules but it *cough* may have been the result of me anonymously sending feedback *cough* or may not have been. I'll leave it to your imagination :)
Is your exam period in April? Our semesters might actually be the length...
Yeah, that's true. I wish it was more transparent for the average user to know where to go regarding inaccuracies. I remember there was the thing with Violet Evergarden's synopsis recently as well. Btw, fun fact : the person who made the forum discussion saying there was an error is not only a part of Rewrite (oh the irony) but hasn't actually contributed to the club and I just went back to that specific discussion and they mention that they're a part of the team. This is why inactive users are super frustrating. I'm just waiting for there to be some sort of "official" post in the club regarding this issue, so I can vent. There are solutions, but it's like they don't want to do anything about it....
Ahhhh, it seems like the link they have on the club page is outdated then. I did find it weird that there weren't any new issues since January :/
Yeah, I just got word that the professor for my last class is going to change the remaining part of the course and he should be letting us know today what he's planning on doing. As for graduation, I'm still not sure but definitely will let you know!
I get that feeling, it can be hard to write and even more so when you need to be as accurate possible. I remember when I wrote a synopsis for the Akira anime and it was uploaded, someone made a forum discussion about how there was a mistake. It was fixed, though, but I think that forum post is still there :'(
It has been over 2 years! Time flies........Is the newsletter even a thing anymore? It looks like there hasn't been a new issue since January....
I think towards the end of the game I just resorted to having a walkthrough tab open on my phone constantly, I'd had enough DX
tbh I watched the series after it'd finished and I didn't even know, I just kept watching them all thinking there'd be more to it than just a repeated episode.
ooo, what subject are you taking? What year of uni are you in? I remember my third year of uni, I pretty much lived in the library =__= and that's a good idea, it's better to leave looking at your work for a while cos when you come back to it, it's like you've got new eyes. I looked at my dissertation again like last year, it'd been 3 years and I just remember thinking to myself, this makes no sense XD
And I decided to try and start reading again, so I went to the library and got myself the new Phillip Pullman book, it's going well so far (I did English Lit. at uni and the thought of reading kinda repulsed me tbh) and as an editor for rewrite, I can feel myself just scrutinising grammar and stuff all the time now lol
We have 2 semesters that are 4 months each, start in September and end in April.
It's possible. It's just that the last class I need to finish is required, so I'm not sure how they'd let us graduate without having finished that class. Even if they did, it would be really weird to graduate and then continue coming back to school just for that one class XD I'll try to look into it, the Uni has a new president this year so it's funny how in her first year we get hit with a strike :/ but hopefully it'll be over by the time we're supposed to graduate (June, so there is still a lot of time) and they're trying to bring in an "expert" now that their last vote failed...
Hehe, I've edited a bunch of synopses from 2017 so that we start getting those out of the way. I've also started writing again as well! What's funny is that I wrote an Aldnoah Zero synopsis 2 years ago (but the editor didn't choose mine and went with a writer's app instead) so it just hit me that I could literally copy and paste for the manga version, which is exactly what I did. I also have other manga series in mind that I'd like to write synopses for so those'll be on the tracker sometime as well.
Oh man, I remember my newsletter interview....I'm not saying it was bad, but I would have put more time/effort into my responses if I could do it again :')
Yeah for sure, there's even a city in California called Ontario lol
Idk, Doctor Who seems interesting but I'm not sure if I'd be willing to put in the time and effort trying to learn all of the ins and outs. And they usually switch actors every few seasons, so that might be hard to keep up with.
Yes! The strike is still going on, it's been over a month now! Just this past Monday they had a vote that could have helped, but the results were in favour of continuing the strike because the latest offers from the Uni weren't good enough I guess. 3/4 of my classes are over now, I don't know what's happening with the last one and not sure what the situation with graduation will be....
I'm happy to say that I have indeed returned to Rewrite! No fancy celebration party q.q but that's ok lol. I think it's just you and Highpriest (who I messaged when I left so I messaged him to re-join) know that I'm back :'(
I've already edited a few synopses just to start to get back into it a little bit. I was super lost because I removed all of the necessary bookmarks after I left so it was a struggle finding the links again XD
Yeah, I talked to Glacialis a couple of months ago after I saw that he was a coordinator. It's good you aren't participating in the social side, it can get pretty cringey (*cough* I mean cancerous *cough*) so I've opted to avoid that as much as possible and just focus on the tracker.
Aw nice! I played Ace Attorney a few months ago, it was my first time playing a game from the series so I went with the first one. It was super aggravating though because I had to present evidence at the "right time" T ^T It was like when I tried to play Danganropa, I wasn't very good XD
Haruhi is great though :3 but I just remember being really annoyed at the summer holiday episodes, how many episodes of the same thing did I have to watch?! ;w;
Thanks for the birthday blessing ^^ It was pretty fun :)
Sorry for the super late reply btw, I got distracted with real life +.+ How're things?
It would be cool to explore Ontario. Travelling can be fun but it's not something I would do by myself but I guess that most people would feel the same way. I definitely want to go to Japan, though. Anime is great and all, but Japan has a lot of cool locations and it that would be awesome to visit.
Yeah cities can be vastly different, especially due to the people living there. I know in Ontario alone there are cities that are specifically known because there's more of a certain ethnicity living there. IIRC I've only ever been to London. My Dad's friend lives in England but I'm not sure exactly where he lives. Btw, we have a city called London as well haha.
Have you ever watched Doctor Who? I ask since your British but I've recently been watching a bunch of clips related to the regeneration from one Doctor to the next and it might be a show I look into. I try not to watch regular TV shows but it seems interesting :/
My school's been on strike for like a month now and I'm supposed to graduate in June (we usually have exams this month but this last leg of my final semester has been thrown into utter chaos) but I now have a lot of free time as a result. I mention this because, if you don't mind me running this by you, I recently had this random thought of maybe possibly probably *cough* re-joining Rewrite *cough*
How is it nowadays? I know I mentioned that I left due to lack of motivation but it's been a little over a year now and I think it might be time to come back :'D
Huh? Weird, when I think about it, to me Haruhi Suzumiya is a weird place to start, but I was introduced to anime (Death Note) by a friend in high school, I say introduced but I watched Sailor Moon, Cardcaptor Sakura, Pokemon, DBZ etc when I was younger, but with Death Note is where my interest properly sprouted ^^ Death Note is great, I love L so much :3
Omo, really? Art style is such a big factor for me, usually if it looks cheap af then it's a no-go XD and I really hate mech anime, robots just don't interest me very much :l
And I feel ya, so much people and so many different personalities to cater can be hard work >.<
Haha yeah, Canada is a really big country! Ontario is a large province, sometimes I wonder if there are even any people living in some of the more remote areas.....
Our public transit doesn't have the greatest reputation either, but it is what it is. I would only go to downtown Toronto if there was a good reason because there's too much traffic and a lot of the people in that area don't exactly have the nicest of attitudes. I guess that's true for most big cities, though :/
It is! I've never been outside of Ontario, though, although it would be cool to go to Vancouver some day.
Haha, you're right, it's not that bad. It's probably just the fact that the journey (subway, lots of walking, being surrounded by hundreds of people) can get really bleh. And our subway system isn't even that good :/
Death Note was my first anime, feel like that's the case for most people lol. But for some reason I always think the anime is way longer than it actually is and I have no idea why :l Spirited Away is a good place to start though :3 It was probably my first Ghibli film. Yamadas is real good fun! I feel like the art style puts a lot of people off though :( towards the end it gets a bit serious in a kind-of funny way but it is a strange knee jerk in comparison to the tone of the rest of the film. But at the end they sing Que Sera, Sera in Japanese, so that's always good ^^ (subs forever <3)
I like to lurk on Discord, and join a conversation now and then but a lot of the time I'm silent and just have a few people that I like X]
