Non anime has got to be Star Wars and The Matrix.

Anime wise has got to be Serial Experiments Lain. (Haven't seen Ghost in the Shell yet but it looks good)

what kind of art do you do since you brought it up?
I've been good just a bit annoyed over an infection in my toe which won't go away
plus it hurts whenever I walk do to how much it has spread so I have to stay in bed all the time

I am watching the Monogatari series, I'm at Tsukimonogatari right now, love the animation and art style
Have you watched Dragon Ball Z? I'm up to episode 51 in Dragon Ball Super and I am waiting for more episodes, because I hate waiting every six days or so for new episodes

I only read one light novel, it's Maria
I hate Mion and Shion, and Rikka is okay but I'm not so fond of her
I was watching the sequel, but I couldn't stand it so I stopped watching it

Higurashi is one of those anime that I love, brilliantly written
Rena is the best character in my opinion, followed by Satoko

I barely see any one with a Shana avatar here xD
I'm watching Monogatari now, I don't watch airing anime, because I have a lot of finished anime to watch

You said you loved higurashi so have you ever watched umineko? They are semi similar and by the same people if you like higurashi you'll most likely enjoy umineko too~

I really love all the DR series, and I've seen the anime getting a lot of hate recently :( I'm a huge fan of DR so I really can't see any bad in the anime haha.
