If you like Lupin The 3rd, then Cobra will be a similar experience but with more creativity. Cobra as a character is more of an awesome action hero with incredibly cool charisma. He's a space pirate but he's a man of many talents. Episodes either deal with conflicts against a space mafia called The Guild or other times he partners up with other characters to steal something. Some stories also have an element of adventure as seen in serial films with a touch of James Bond. The series can tackle multiple formats such as treasure hunting, cosmic horror, sports, westerns, fighting, etc. Cobra is really a jack of all trades. The music is just as good as Lupin's & Cowboy Bebop's. The aliens have great designs too which have a bit of American toyetic vibe to them. There's also a lot of mature women which showcase a lot of sex appeal. Although there's plenty of horrifying & straight up weird things but it's all fun. I wish it would come back for more eps as there's still some manga stories that haven't been animated. Cobra is the coolest anime character ever!

Gatchaman is about the science ninja team; a group of 5 superheroes who battle the terrorist supervillain organization Galactor. This anime predates Super Sentai & is one of the earliest anime that features mecha monsters in an episodic format. It got released the same time as Mazinger Z but Gatchaman has a lot more going for it. The tone shifts between campy action & tense drama. There's some eps that are straight up childish & super ridiculous such as "stealing the world's sugar so kids can't have candy & pastries". But it can also be a very violent & brutal interpretation of the superhero team. There's many casualties on both sides which makes Galactor a dominant threat. The plot related stuff mainly comes from Ken The Eagle & Joe The Condor. Joe gets a lot of spotlight towards the end of the series and a lot more in the 2nd anime. Admittedly, Gatchaman is very long with the 1st anime being 105 eps while the sequels Gatchaman 2 & Gatchaman Fighter make it over 200 eps total. There's also a 90's 3ep OVA which is a reboot of sorts. They all have new cool updated designs & animation is awesome. There's also Gatchaman Crowds but it's so different that it might as well be something else. There was an attempt of a cgi movie by IMAGI (TMNT 2007, Astro Boy 2009) but got cancelled. I confess that I haven't rewatched the anime in almost 10 years but I recall being my 1st or 2nd favorite superhero anime. Here's my 2017 review of all 3 series.

Cool to see Casshern Sins here. Although my favorite iteration is the 1973 version.
