this manga really shows how brutal and dangerous the delinquent world can be, the first 30 chapters were pretty chill but when they started introducing the factions it went from a nice delinquent slice of life to a straight-up manga about war and conflict.

people die in this manga and it can be brutal sometimes, you're always hoping that your favorite characters don't get hit with a bat from behind or shot in the chest multiple times, i think the tension you get when reading this manga is what makes it so special.

the art style is really good and every panel is detailed and great to ... look at, emotions are portrayed amazingly and the fights have amazing choreography, the character design is impressive and some characters are portrayed to look as intimidating as possible, which i loved. the way gore is depicted will make you flinch. a lot. bones will break, skulls will be split, and convulsions will be had.

the characters are great and charismatic and each of them are unique in their own way, they all have their own goals and objectives, and their personalities are way different from each other which can lead to some great interactions between them, but sometimes their strength can be weirdly portrayed, for example, a skinny delinquent could be able to keep up with a giant in a fight easily and i found that kind of weird but the fights are amazing nonetheless. the main character is great but his backstory wasn't as good as i expected it to be, but he's still a very fun character and i believe the fittest to be the main character.

overall, if you like delinquent manga with a hint of gore and comedy, i think that this is the manga for you, otherwise, don't read it if you're squeamish.

I love a good delinquent manga. And this one provides an outstanding opening plot to a delinquent world that's been portrayed by the mindblowing art style of Mizuta Makoto who is new to me. I've always been a fan of brawling and pure fistfight in a manga, and this manga delivers it to my heart's content.
The story starts off really good but loses it balances a little trying to introduce a bunch of new characters continuously and making them look more intimidating than the previous ones which are necessary but I think they could've done it some other way without making them look a little ... unrealistic.
The MC is really engaging. His character has depths that lets you connect with him. But some of the other characters are a bit unrealistically portrayed as they sometimes don't seem like teen boys or even human strength and stamina-wise.

TLDR (yes, at the top); out has pretty good art that improves, but completely fits the tone of the story. the characters are great and likable. the story is fast paced and exciting enough to binge. and personal enjoyment is off the charts.

i binged out in one school day after finishing homework, and i don't think i'll ever be the same. for one, out is amazing. i normally don't really like delinquent manga, and i only bother with gore when it's part of a death game manga. the gore in out is, well, gory, but if i can stomach it, you can.

for technical aspects, out ... is pretty good. the art gets better, and if you're someone who likes characters who are more, well, attractive to help enhance reading experience, out does have the occasional hot character. acchan is my personal fave if we're not going into spoiler territory. the characters are compelling and the ones meant to be likable are for the most part likeabe. the story is exactly the kind of thriller and action you'd except, and i can't help but be swept along in it.

but, of course, i am exactly the kind of person who rates manga by personal enjoyment rather than technical aspects (that's not to say out is lacking, by any means. i could wax poetry about the symbolism and prose, but that involves spoilers and we're not here for that).

let's put it this way: out made me cry, and the last time i cried was when i got a 67 on midterms. the story has a way of getting you attached to characters, and sometimes twists so many times you don't know who to trust, which only creates a sense of empathy for the manga characters, as far as i'm concerned. i don't hesitate to recommend out to anyone willing to give it a shot. there's something so raw and poignant out has, even with the dirty humor and constant fistfights. this is more than a story about teens beating each other up--it made me legit cry, that's for sure.
