Only about the first 10 episodes of it. It was quite good from what I remember, but I think I'm gonna read the manga before I finish the anime. Naoki Urasawa writes some amazing manga.

You planning on taking it slow and watching a few episodes every now and then? Or are you gonna churn that shit out and marathon it one of these days?

FMA is great, I think it's a show that a lot of people can get behind and aside from it being a really interesting and solid tale, it's still a very fun and explosive action series. I think you'd like it.

I understand the mood thing, watching a romdram with friends laughing in the background isn't exactly going to leave you sobbing in your hands... I find this more apparent with manga than with anime though. At least with anime, the sound helps block any outside sources of distraction. But with manga, I really need to play some music in the background while reading for extended periods of time to get in the mood.

Not really, I read/watch pretty much whatever I feel like at the time. I'm more often than not reading shounen series since they are fast, fun, and are really exciting. If I was going to read an epic or a seinen manga, I'd have to set aside a few nights or a weekend to sit down and read it.
Shounen manga is like junk food for me and while they usually don't carry the same quality as a full-course meal, the bursts of style and excitement that they excel in is something that keeps me coming back all the time. You thinking of checking out FMA any time in the near future?

One Week Friends huh. I've looked into watching that one, but I think I want to wait until it finishes so I can knock it out in one sitting.
To be honest, I'm most interested in Ping Pong. But aside from that, I'm just checking out the continuations of Mushishi and Jojo's. I'm looking forward to summer season as well, since Sailor Moon is making a return to TV anime, that's gonna be a blast! I should try and finish SAO before the second season starts so I can enjoy it with everyone else :P.

By the way, those 3 shows you listed above seem pretty spread-out in the spectrum of anime. You have any preferred genres you look for in the anime you pick to watch?

A couple of my friends tried out the anime and they didn't really get into it even though I thought it looked really interesting. Maybe I'll give it a shot sooner than I thought.

I haven't seen/read Aku no Hana yet but other people tell me that it's a bastardized adaptation of a really good manga. Not my words though. I've been meaning to check it out but I'll probably start with the manga if anything else to be honest.

I can't really think of too many shows that have been "overshadowed" in popularity to be honest. I thought The Tatami Galaxy was extremely under-talked about when it first came out but even that had quite the large audience. Although I've kinda been hands-off with some of the airing shows in the past year now and haven't been paying too much attention to what's popular and what's good.
