I'm tasteless-casual. My name is just an old bad joke and I actually don't watch thatanimesnob (anymore). I used to look at his channel in the past because I found it fascinating. I personally stopped watching anime YouTubers for a long time. This name was used to mock elitist with a high affinity with me. Elitist personas can be fun, and people can be attracted to strong opinions, either in good or bad ways, but please don't be mean to people. Your persona is your choice and Thus it is a part of your personality as well.
I don't want to be rude but please try to start a conversation, even a super trivial one, before sending a friend request or even attached it to the friend request. Friend requests don't mean much to me on the website , so It isn't like becoming friend in IRL. This is why I actually don't send one, not because I'm some kind of snob but It is also strange for me to have people in the list who I don't remember at all and have their recent updates or mine shared between us. Those friend requests feels like a polite way to ask for list stalking. The keyword is "feels". This doesn't reflect the truth or my opinion of you , so you might be awesome nonetheless.
OK I will post them for the time being because I'm bored but I might delete them later.
I used to post half-assed reviews on this site but I never liked my works. I am used to delete my work after few days. When MAL removed thumps down , I lost interest in writing for this website. I know my shortcomings when I review anime. Those includes :
1- My lack in musical knowledge, which translates into bland description of it.
2- I really can't notice art and animation well in anime unless they are either very captivating or very poorly done.
3- My writing style isn't polished due to laziness and lacks in flair due to my background in readings. I'm not really into reading stories and novels but more into reading scientific articles.
4- Finally, I really don't glorify watching anime (even if I used to do it a lot.). Sometimes I think if my half-assed review convinces someone to watch something, then I might probably be a net negative in his/her life. I used to not care about that for long time.
Whoever, I wish you a good luck , happy life and becoming a better person.
Welcome to my profile :
Why is my scores like this ? Well
1- I personally don't like to rate anime but I was playing with Jikan - Unofficial MyAnimeList API. It is fun data mining about anime in my list.
2- I found the scoring from 1 to 8 to be convenient when I was playing with the data.
3- My current anime score is based on enjoyment and appreciation but mainly enjoyment.
4- Anime with scores between 5-8 (including 5) is the one that I personally found enjoyable.
5- Anime with a score of 4 are the ones that are just unpleasant to watch or with a fault that kind of annoyed me more than I expected.
6- Anime with a score of 3 are the ones with very few things good about them for my enjoyment.
7- Anime with a score of 2 are the ones that I don't enjoy, period.
8- Anime with a score of 1 are the ones that I just dislike (sometimes with passion due to clicking on some wrong buttons in my head.).
Thanks man, I with you a nice day as well.
Welp I watched a whole lot of Demon Slayer lol. It's a pretty typical shounen story but with over 9000 animation budget levels because Ufotable being Ufotable. Fun to watch if you want to shut your brain off and enjoy the pretty colors.
Btw, is this this new MAL feature of commenting on what other people watch? lol
Well, yeh, you addressed what I had written, not my character. "and Nah some people will say that I criticized your review thus I criticized you" Maybe it's because of my reception as well. I didn't feel myself being attacked at all. Only my opinions were being addressed.
Also, glad you are also the type of person to realize there is no objectivity in art. I've also dug into it already quite a bit and also reached the conclusion that it's all subjectivity, and as you say, focusing on different aspects of the piece of art. And it's also based on beliefs we already have: For example I thought Koe no Katachi was pretty realistic because I believe people act like them, while you didn't (I read your review).
And, indeed, other people having "different priority/standard/background."
Hey, you can read my new review for Kaiba. I'm sorry to do this btw, I know you're a fan of it. Criticism stings when we love something (it's an instinct against potential hostility), and I also definitely feel it all the time, but.. if you're interested. Or don't.
I like your opinions btw because you try to be honest and be realistic, when most anime fans are swept by emotions (even me). Even when you first talked about my review (which greatly criticized the anime) you didn't criticize me, when that's what anime fans would be quickest to do. Like, nice. :0
What you remember about Chroniko's situation is right.
I think I will be rewriting my review as it really did reduce the situation too much. You have convinced me.
I know that some people in the world really end up making these difficult choices to sell vital things, but an anime making a statement about this is still very uninteresting. It is a complaint, a protest, that was made into an animated form so that a few people will see it. In reality, many people are aware of the horrible circumstances of certain people in the world, including myself. I don't think it's interesting that a Japanese animation put it on the screen. I already know it's a huge problem and I hope it will be solved as well. It still really is a theme that has painfully obvious answers and solutions to them (care and effort from the rich and better laws).
Taking all that into account, I think I'll improve my review to be more subtle.. This is an important theme, and I'll argue that it is very uninteresting. I just laughed out loud by the way. I can't believe I want to argue that something is uninteresting when it was to others.. I am being a little ridiculous. But I strive to be honest. It is uninteresting to me, and I don't believe presenting the theme works as something to spread awareness either.
"“Selling my child, specifically their body - bad and sad.” is reduction to the whole situation. The story isn't really about that. It is about the whole situation."
Do you mean the whole situation (world) that was contrived so that the anime can say “Selling my child, specifically their body - bad and sad.”? This world that certainly has no relation to reality and simply exists to raise questions that aren't important or have painfully obvious answers to them?
Thanks for your review of my review. You make good points, and indeed I am just a person who found the anime boring, so it would be very disagreeable to anyone who did enjoy the anime. Maybe the anime is more thought-provoking to others; I just can't imagine it is..
Thanks for reading my review :)
This was my first review, and i just wrote what came to mind and i thought it was already too big and starting to get repetitive. (And English is not my language so it was very tiring to write this)
Actually I only did it because of the MAL reviews giving 10 and speaking as if it were a absolute masterpiece, it was more of an criticize against those reviews that in my opinion do not match the anime I watched XD
I actually know Chuck Huber more as the voice of Pilaf from Dragon Ball rather than 17 but he's voiced a lot of characters I recognize actually.
As for specific questions, I'd be interested to know what it was like voicing Hiei for Yu Yu Hakusho, how he and the other voice actors got along, how the work environment was.

But thanks dude for your thoughts.

No real story to it, just thought it looked cool.^^
How are you? Still watching anime?
