I know a few AoT spoilers, but nothing in context, so I actually have zero idea why someone would like or dislike it :) but I'm excited to find out!

Cool hairstyle automatically places you into top-5, at the very minimum lol I had so many unfortunate encounters with the hairdressers in my life, that one day I just said to myself "fuck it" and started cutting my own hair. Sure, it's far from "professional", but at least I can do what I want and when I want it :) and hey, just because I'm satisfied with a bare minimum doesn't mean that I can't get better at it if I try harder!

Oh, I don't think I've ever heard of The Shield :) I don't think I had a favorite show up until recently, since I don't watch a lot of live-action in general, but I've watched Young Royals last year and absolutely fell in love with it. I do think that Young Royals S1 qualifies as my most favorite show at the moment :) the other close to favorites would probably be Breaking Bad and Twin Peaks, unless I'm forgetting something important (again, not much of a live-action person!).

Heh :) I'd probably have nightmares after watching/playing a horror before sleep lol but it depends on the horror, of course. Some of them aren't particularly scary and are kind of funny :) but if it's an engaging and atmospheric horror, then I'm definitely not finishing it unscarred lol
Everything scares me! Body horror, Lovecraftian horror, jump scares - if it's supposed to be scary, it'll probably work on me :p

I'm excited about AoT as well! I don't know if I'll watch today or tomorrow, but it'll be nice to finally finish this long journey :) and probably bittersweet. I wonder if I'll end up being the ending-hater or not :p people seem to place a great deal of importance on the endings, but I'd say I care more about the whole journey, at least in 99% of cases.

Wah, if you were an anime character, I'd definitely consider placing you in my top-10 lol it is cute! And inspiring. And probably many other nice things that don't immediately come to mind :p I can't stop smiling after reading that, so you definitely succeeded at spreading joy and happiness lol

That's so cool! I'm glad something inspired you so much and even had some long-term consequences (in a good way). I'm kinda curious about the details of your personal journey, if you'd be willing to share, but there is already so much text below lol so, maybe I'll ask later sometime :p
Well, as far as metal goes, you definitely have more in common with my friend than me lol I did attend Lacuna Coil concert once, if you're familiar with them :) and listened to some other musicians, so I'm not a total metal noob lol it's just that not all of it seems to resonate with me strongly.
I'm more of post-hardcore / emo / screamo "connoisseur", so I usually lean heavily into that direction, even though a lot of artists just mix and mash things together, of course. It's just that every particular genre or even subgenre sounds a certain way, and my "soul" would be more responsive to certain things and that kind of music would more often resonate with me more. So, that's the reason for using certain genres as a beacon :) kind of makes sense, doesn't? I also have this weird attitude that I call "musical conservatism". What it means that it's very hard for me to listen to new things for some reason, and I prefer to stick to what I'm already familiar with. So, don't expect me to have a vast knowledge of different artists lol even among the genres that I prefer.
Curiously, despite the fact that my parents are into different "classics" like Led Zeppelin, Frank Zappa etc., I've never listened to most of them at all. But again, the weird musical "conservatism"! I'd rather prefer to listen to the same thing again and again, rather than experience something new :) for some reason, I'm so uncompromising only when it comes to music. I don't really know where such attitude comes from. But I'm assaulted by metal lovers on every front, so I'll probably cave in eventually :p
I love violin :3 a lot of my favorite pieces of music from different OSTs have a violin, and I just generally liked listening to violinists like Vanessa Mae when I was a kid.
My dad has a musical education and can play some instruments, so I remember at least holding a guitar as a kid :p but, unfortunately, nothing really came out of it, so I just remain a consumer of music and not a producer :)

Yeah, Berserk is pretty great, but I'm definitely not a dedicated fan :) Griffith and his story was one of the main "selling points" of it for me and after he made his choice and was practically gone from the story, I became less and less interested in everything. I just can't say that I felt any strong investment in the story or anything else post-Eclipse :) or maybe post-Conviction arc, since I remember enjoying most of it quite a bit as well.
I haven't tried watching the new anime, but yeah, seems pretty low effort :)

I see :p I also confirmed it and yeah, The Sopranos is his most favorite show of all time :) I've watched it too, and I didn't like it at all, so no coolness for me lol I remember my friend expecting that outcome :p I wonder why I didn't like it. I like gore, violence, smut and all kinds of tragedies, and I don't think I'm all that picky when it comes to the settings. I like to be scared, and I like to cry and suffer lol but The Sopranos was so vulgar, so raw in some way...that I just couldn't handle it. All the cruelty and unfairness. Am I too "tender" for that kind thing, when it's more grounded in reality? It just made me so sad, angry and annoyed :p on the other hand, I enjoyed something like Breaking Bad a lot. Maybe because it was more "prettied" and not as raw in certain ways? I don't know.
What's your most favorite show of all time then? :)

I feel like I have no trouble believing in your kindness ;p but why "unfortunately"? :) I mean, unless you want to be very impartial, then I understand. But if it feels right to rate high, then maybe it's fine as it is?
I'm totally biased and, well, it makes sense :) the reason I started tracking anime/manga/games several years ago was to create a personal hierarchy of a sort. Being impartial when it comes to scores would be counterintuitive to my original goal. Liking something or being entertained for me is not enough, it also has to be a "clean" experience overall, i.e. with nothing and no one that I visibly dislike, or I just have to love it so much that I wouldn't care. There is got to be this deep personal connection with a piece of art, or it's all for nothing :)

Siding with villains ftw :p do you have some favorite villains? :) I could probably make a long list lol I'm usually fine with them just being deliciously evil. I generally don't need complex characters or anything like that, as long as they're entertaining.
I love horror, but I'm so squeamish >_< going through a horror is always an experience for me :p I'm definitely more afraid of the horror games than movies, but I know someone who is the opposite. "If you can control what's happening, then it's not that scary" he says, which makes sense, but I can't relate it to at all :) having control is scarier!

Yeah, I get it :) until recently, I'd been watching like 2-3 anime series per year, sometimes even less, and manga was a very rare guest indeed :p well, unless you count hot BL smut one-shots lol
But trying to remember all the things I watched in my life to add here was still crazy!
And if you aren't as obsessed with being "entrenched" on something like MAL as I am, then I can totally see why you wouldn't care about updating a lot of things :)

If all the turbulent events happening during my lifetime taught me anything, it's that you shouldn't break off contact with people because of politics! Even if it's very personal and hard not to do sometimes, it's not worth it in the end! Better to wait for the better and calmer days.

My profile used to be a wall of text hidden behind a bunch of spoilers lol but since I can't live without aesthetically beautiful things (which also includes naked anime guys, obviously lol), I tried to make something nice-looking! It was my first serious "encounter" with Photoshop, and I'm rather happy with the result :) I'm especially proud of making that candle :p hey, my first animation! May not mean much to pros, but it looks cool to me :)
My MAL tab is open all the time, so if I'm using my PC, then I'm probably checking it instinctively :p I have e-mail notifications as well :)
But I'd be happy to accommodate you, if there is some other place that's more convenient for you! People with Mika-fest on their profile should have special privileges after all lol I pretty much only use Discord and a social network you probably have never heard about, unless you're from my region, with several other messengers here and there that I rarely visit. I've never had a Twitter account or anything like that, but it could be fixed, if needed :) I kind of need to make one sooner or later to have access to BL artists anyway. But then again, even if it's something that potentially encourages real-time conversations, it's not like you have to respond immediately :) just a reminder :p I often use Discord just like I use MAL comments: a person writes me a bunch of messages, or I to them, and then quote-respond.
Anyway, it doesn't have to be now, I'm just saying if you'd prefer some other place to talk instead of MAL in the future, just tell me :) I'm fine with whatever, as long as I can have access to it.

Firstly, the whole "cheer up, I'll be your friend" thing is kind of cute ^_^ what made you want to put it on your profile? :)
Secondly, I was like "hmmmm I wonder what's that mysterious Mika-lover is like, maybe I should check a few of the forum posts", and you kind of reminded me of my close friend in some ways :p

Likes Berserk? Check (my friend has a particular fondness for the movie trilogy and often re-watches them whenever he feels extremely bad or extremely good)
Likes The Sopranos? Check (well, I don't know if you actually like it or not lol but it's one of his favorite TV shows, if not the most favorite, so I thought it was an amusing coincidence that you mentioned it in a random post I opened)

You also mentioned giving higher scores out of kindness...that's so nice!!! But that made me feel pretty horrible (yet again) and I feel like a nitpicky monster in comparison lol imagine something capturing your heart and soul and you still underrate it compared to MAL average score -_- the story of my life! Well, relatively short MAL life :p in any case, I've chosen this path, so I guess that's my karma to bear :)

You also said that you like villains, which is also the story of my life! Literally. There were only a few protagonists that I liked in whatever I was watching/playing/reading for most of my life, while quite a few of them annoyed me, but villains were always great and made everything so much more interesting to experience :) even though I don't have a lot of them as my top favorite characters at the moment. My ultimate goal is to potentially infest my MAL favorites list with cute and kind-hearted anime guys that I really like, but all the wonderful villains are always in my heart, even if they eventually might not have a spot to be displayed :p

Been on a huge JRPG kick, haven't been watching any anime at all other than this magical girl parody with one of my friends. I forget the name but it's hysterical.

I also got the platinum trophy for Berseria and I'm really happy with it. Some of those trophies were a huge grind, especially that Tales coins one >_>
