I am sorry I lost my interest in anime and manga, so i might be active here but i won't be adding anything to my list anymore. thanks for the journey. I am sorry but now I want to stop this
My main anime watching journey started during lockdown, and I don't regret it one bit. Thanks to that I have found one of my comfort zones. I used to be a reader before lockdown, have read lots of books but during covid era I ran out of physical book copies and pdf used to hurt my eyes. So I have been watching anime for almost 5 years now, I know it's not a very long time but I enjoyed it. I rarely drop shows but if i drop anything it means that was very bad to me.
I prefer psychological anime, but i watch any kind of genres. I just try to understand the story and the growth of each characters, like how much they changed from the first episode to last episode. Also try to understand each character's perspective. Specially the villains.
I know this is a free platform and people can do anything but still i recommend you not to copy other people. get your own personality and your own life. stop taking other people's hobbies and interests and make it your own. it's disguisting and creepy. Also the people you are copying from gets very irritated. get a life and live your own life. best of luck. this is a goodbye for me. i am done.

I am not really the greatest at writing messages like these, but yea hobbies change now and then & I am sorry hearing about that weirdo copying you. I'm glad to hear the journey itself was a good one. Lots of respect to you!
Maybe I'll see you around sometime! Hopefully all goes well ❀
Is it an online friend or someone you know IRL? Sometimes people copy others just to fit in or share the same interests — it’s not always meant in a bad way, but when it gets that personal (like matching your style, taste, or even profile themes), yeah, that definitely crosses a line.
I’d try being straight with them about how it makes you feel. If they get defensive or start acting weird about it, it might be best to distance yourself or even drop the friendship — not saying that in a mean way, just being real. Some people genuinely don’t realize how invasive that kind of behavior can be, but others definitely do it on purpose.
It could also be that they’re trying to get to know you better, but yeah, sometimes people do that for the wrong reasons too — trolling, gaslighting, or even stalking (sadly seen that happen before). If they’re being super clingy, especially if they’re just an online friend, I’d be careful. Don’t share any personal info or your location just in case they’re the type to dox people.
I don’t really think leaving MAL has to be the answer though. Maybe make an alt account just to track or watch stuff and don’t tell anyone about it. I’ve tried other anime sites too, and while I don’t always agree with how MAL is run or moderated, I still find it better than most. The people here are generally less weird or extreme than on some other anime sites, at least from what I’ve seen.
Either way, I totally understand why you felt done with that situation. You did the right thing by stepping away — that kind of behavior would creep anyone out. LMK what happens.
I totally can understand loosing interest, but that's because you might waste time on really mediocre anime & manga, and that's when you drop it to find something you truly can enjoy, or else you will loose your drive to explore other works that might actually be enjoyable.
I drop anything that I initially rate lower than a 6, and typically drop stuff I rate at a 6 around the 3rd episode mark, sometimes I will even drop something I rate as a 7 if it's story has really slow pacing. I would (with a 150% likelihood), no longer watch anime if I didn't start doing this a few years ago, especially since the amount of anime I have dropped is close to 250 animes.
TLDR; You just gotta start dropping anime that isn't pulling you into it's story.
Wish you luck bud!
