especially these days, some kids already playing around with social media, wanting attention and likes, sound like would affecting them later

you're a wise man, i feel like i can say even the weirdest stuff and you would willing to listen

i come to conclusion, i guess one of the reason why people make a movie, because they want to influence people to empathize on what they feel, without the need to make them experience it themselves in their life.

yeah taboo and sensitive stuff, people rarely want to talk about it, because the reality is always disgusting, people prefer to look at it pretty full of rainbow and never admit on whatever in their mind, i mean being wild in our mind is fine, but we have the control on what thing that we would execute.

thats why never trust on whatever people say, trust on what they do, because words could be so misleading, thats why i dont like politicians.

i think some of the case more of they're incompetent on doing their job, like how could the police and the hotline people just laugh it off and wont take it seriously, regardless it would considered as real crime or not.

if it were me, would at least listen to them and try to understand them, and if i judge them to something that i cant understand then i would just keep it to myself and still proceed the case, do you think is it because naturally people just tend to avoid "opinion" that different from theirs ? or they just want to neglect the case because lazy but with the "accepted excuse".

and actually, what you said just similar like how AI works, they collect database as for it training model (as for human, they get it from experience, influence, and empathizing), and human do restriction on the AI like prevent them to talk about suicide, politic, and religion topic (thats similar like "morality" for human).

that video more of about toxic masculinity, well in general the weaker would be considered as the victim, and the stereotype men is stronger than women

Why FFXII specifically and not FXIII? I still largely liked 12 just because of how good the music and the setting are. FF13 being where the franchise started dipping makes more sense to me. Do you stil play 11 btw? If you hang around private servers we might've actually met before!
And a bit of a spoiler for later, but while I think FFXIV is largely overrated, I do believe the harder content of the game truly rocks. Peaked in ShB/StB, but I still hold hopes for the newst expansion.

I think what you state here is true for most indie games. Strong authorship is what I think captured you the most by Icepick Studio and I can't deny that's a way more rare find in the gaming landscape. Rain World is another example of a game with strong gameplay authorship, and Alan wake 2 has strong director.

I think you ought to give outer wilds a shot then. It's, not as horror as the ones you mentioned, but it is a deeply existentialist game.

Okay okay, I have my beef with JRPGs mostly, as I tend to enjoy even a mediocre JRPG a tad more than I can stomach other games, so here I go:

Persona Series. SMT series. I like what they do, platonically. In reality these game just have terrible writing (persona) or terrible dungeon designs (SMT).

Trails series. Surprisingly mid JRPG which I'd not even consider playable without x2 speed.

Modern tales. Modern Xenoblade. Just too much anime and not enough substance.

Cities skylines' progression is too vertical to the point where you need to reconstruct your cities multiple times for no good reason.

Modern Atelier. I feel like it's too concentrated on doing CGDCT that it forgot that what made them great in the PS2/PS1 was having a SOUL.

FF10's hallways had me lose interest of the game in a shorter time than FF13 got me.

Don't Starve. Minecraft. NMS. Valheim. A lot of survival games out there that actually have an idea on what makes surviving fun.

Talos Principle: Too easy, Too many logs, Too open.

Satisfactory doesn't understand what makes Factorio Fun.

Pikmin 4 does understand what nakes Pikmin 2 and 1 so great, nor pikmin fans it seems

BoTW and ToTK edge me constantly with how good an open world zelda would be if it actually incorporated Zelda elements.

Mario Odyssey is my least favourite 3D mario. It's worth a moon.

Animal Crossing New Horizon makes me sad for the direction the series took.

Lumines Remastered Eternally reminds me that the best arcade puzzle series will never get another release

Chants of Sennaar is too much of a point and click game to be an interesting linguistic game.

And my harshest, most controversional opinion:

Myst is surprisingly mid.

Any big, controversional opinion you yourself hold? Both for games you consider bad or underappreciated.

Well... Knowing how the collab with FFXIV went, I really wonder if Nier Automata ended up this way because of outside suggestions. The game to me just felt uncharacteristically melodramatic, especially for the later half. I'm still glad I played it - not sure about the Ubisoft comparison because the only Ubisoft series I actually like is Rayman p:
But... Think about it for a quick second! You're a big company - Platinum Games - very respected for high quality, triple A games, would you really let Yoko Taro direct the whole game? Wouldn't you stop him in his attempts to recreate the failure of another hero? FFXIV was so hyped to have Yoko Taro collab for a questline, only for his writing to be deemed inopportune and getting kicked out of the project 2 months in (lol).

So you're actually quite deep in the video game iceberg! I'm actually impressed. I know Pathologic got pretty famous after Hbomber and Mandalore talked about it, but before 2 came out, I've always liked The Void much better.

Say, what's your top three favourite games?
For me it's Mother 3 (for being the first game that had me feel something) Outer Wilds (I recommend playing it without looking up a thing about it as it's a very unconventional puzzle game) and La Mulana.

Hello! And welcome to the Los Pollos Hermanos family. My name is Gustavo, but you can call me "Gus". I am thrilled that you'll be joining our team. Each and every day, we serve our customers exceptional food, with impecable service. We take pride in everything that we do. And after this 10 week online seminar, I'm sure you'll fit right in. I like to think I see things in people. To begin, I'd like to talk about the cornerstone of the Los Pollos Hermanos brand. Communication. As an employee of Los Pollos Hermanos, you set the tone for the entire dining experience. Be mindful of what your words, and behavior communicate to our guests. Always be aware of your posture, remember to stand up straight. Your customers and your back will thank you for it. Put effort into your appearance, all employees are required to dress appropriately. Keep your uniform clean, and pressed. If you want respect, you must look respectable. Speak in complete sentences, we never use one word greetings like "Hey" or "Yeah?" Always make eye contact, and finally, whenever you're with a customer or not, remain composed. Inside, you can be thinking about your homework, or friends, or your side business, but no one should ever know it. Because at Los Pollos Hermanos, someone... Is always watching. So dont forget to smile! Thats all for today, see you next time when we'll be discussing cleanliness.

I'm not sugoi grrr

I don't think there's any subjectivity in calling Nier's gameplay... bad. It's surprisingly not that controversial of a take, and while it's certainly better than Drakengard, it surprisingly is still is tied to its Dynasty Warriors roots. You don't really have to think or react much in these games, and while Gestalt had the decency of not throwing a bunch of enemies at you, Automata really likes the idea of you being chased by 10 robots with overlapping attacks and superarmor (meaning you can't interrupt them while they're attacking). Gestalt as a game is way too easy to be interactive, and randomly spamming attacks and magic will get you through everything, but the gameplay style changes a lot, and it's on the shorter side, so you don't feel it as much. Automata on the other hand only has 2 gameplay styles, and none of the zelda-like dungeons of Gestalt, which means most of the gameplay is the Action combat and... like I said, it's either too easy and it feels like you're playing though Dynasty Warriors, mowing down robots like it's American cheese, or it's incredibly tedious, with enemies having little openings, and the gameplay being running around in circles waiting for your POD's laser or hammer to charge up. Good action games are balanced around pseudo-turns where you're either playing defensive and dodging or offensive and ranking up a good combo. The more natural it feels, the better the game, but Nier Automata is either ultra-offensive or ultra-defensive, with very little inbetween. 9S' hacking minigame kinda fixes a lot of the issues, but considering how he's the second playthrough protagonist... eh... he comes a bit too late.

Since you mention stories... Have you played What Remains of Edith Finch? The void? Outer Wilds? Glad to know there's somebody else here on mal who likes Pathologic o;

Gameplay wise, absolutely, every single one of them...
But in a way, it was charming before. Nier automata and its remake have had too much budget to just turn a blind eye on their passable gameplay.

Narrative-wise, it really depends on the game. Drakengard 1 to me best encapsulated Taro's whimsical vsision and his theme of player subversion.
Drakengard 3 doesn't fall behind too much, surprisingly...

But both Nier games, hmmm... They're not as good at subverting, but they have really likable characters that really carey them.

Voice of cards might also be an actual good game made by him...
DropOfLove Feb 3, 5:27 PM
Hard to say,
Personally,
I think all of his games
Kinda suck.

But his
Ethos is strong,
And drakengard still was ahead of its time,
methinks.

nice set!
3miL Feb 2, 10:07 AM
essentially what we talked about on the other fence, nothing worth our attention lol

use the epigyne set that sanks made back in October

pics or it ain't real
3miL Feb 2, 8:32 AM
All I know about it is that it reminds me of bowling, america and mesopotamia

outdated conversation plus problem technically already solved lol

most new stuff is irl and I think it's better that way. My set enthusiasts are mostly dead and even I have trouble coming up with ideas for bios and whatnot

speaking of cats, I guess that's pretty fitting since the forums is being infested with witches like @Serafos witch
