Why did you decide against Stein;gates? It's one of the better anime made.

I think the more anime you watch, the less enthralled by Death Note you will be. It is one of the better anime out there, but it is not nearly as good as it wants to be. Code Geass was better in my opinion.

Anyway, I didn't check you list, so I don't know if you saw these yet.
But give these anime a try, if you can.

Zetsuen No Tempest
Stein;gates
Mahou Shoujo Madoka Magica
Magi

These are some really nice animes that I think you might like, maybe even more than death note.
