Demon Slayer Kimetsu no Yaiba: Mugen Train Movie Review (English Dub)

Story (8/10) Very Good (Spoilers)

This arc has the main characters set on a train called the Mugen Train to uncover the mysteries that have been occurring on alongside Kyoujurou Rengoku. He is a character in which was set up in the season before to be considered a respected and powerful demon slayer. Things go haywire and the characters get caught up in different prison dreams all set in place by the mastermind beforehand. Up to this point and to the defeat of this mastermind, the story for this movie honestly felt like just more read more

Jibaku Shounen Hanako-kun Review

Story (7/10) Good
More Specifically (7.75/10)

Toilet-bound Hanako-kun's premise is an unique, goofy but interesting concept. The name of the series will probably turn a lot of regulars (including myself in this instance had it not been recommended to me) away. It was no where near as bad or dumb as the name portrays the series to be. It can get a little episodic around the middle of this 12 episode anime and the ending is definitely a "go read the manga" type of ending so those two things are stuff to take into consideration. I'm not entirely sure how good of an adaptation read more

Sarazanmai Review

Story (6/10) Fine

The story to Sarazanmai is a fine one and in a nutshell a giant undertone of accepting your inner desires and love, knowing the difference between them and how to cop with them. If you are a fan of stories like the video game Persona (Particularly Persona 4 and 5) the way they cop with their inner desires is very reminiscent to those games as the main characters have to extract the desires and expose their victims which very similar in fashion to making a person in P4 accept their inner shadow's negative personality trait or taking the heart of someone read more

Vinland Saga Review

Story (10/10) Masterpiece {Minor Spoilers}

As soon as I saw that Vinland Saga one of my favorite manga was getting adapted and heard that it was going to be 24 episodes. I knew exactly where this season would end. There's no better place in the series to leave an anime only watcher on than where they decided to leave it at. It stayed authentic to the manga and showcases how to perfectly execute the "go read the manga" type of conclusion that many anime adaptations decide to do but do no where near as well. Majority of people consider this the read more

Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Review

Story (8/10) Very Good

Kimetsu No Yaiba's story for the arcs that were adapted in this 26 episodes were very good. A decent amount was accomplished and although I have not read the manga, as an anime-only, I wouldn't be surprised if this is better than the manga counterpart. The execution of the animation studio Ufotable was a jackpot as soon as it was announced that an anime was coming. Although they had their demon episodic type portions, looking back on it and analyzing everything that has occurred, it was only done up to a point where it didn't read more

JoJo no Kimyou na Bouken Part 5: Ougon no Kaze Review

Story (8/10) Very Good
More Specifically (8.75/10) Very Good+

The story in JoJo's Part 5 is very good, particularly the beginning. We go from Part 4's Japan to Part 5's Italy. From Joseph's Son to Dio/Jonathon's son. I feel the overall plot was very good and this adaption by David Production was well done. When I read the manga I felt the pacing was a bit on the slow side and I gave it an 8.50/10. I feel the pacing was a bit better this time around in anime format although nothing really changed with read more

Knights of the Zodiac: Saint Seiya Review

Story (6/10) Fine

As a heavy fan of Saint Seiya and as you would assume from many other long fans, I feel comfortable enough to speak for the majority of us when I say we are not necessarily satisfied with the amount of changes to this story. As soon as I saw Seiya riding in on a skateboard I knew I was in for it. I think the biggest change to the overall story has to be the inclusion of the antagonist Vander. Who's goal is to use the power of comso to fight against the Gods instead of with read more

Kizumonogatari III: Reiketsu-hen Review

Story (7/10) Good
More Specifically (7.50/10) Good+

The story behind Kizumonogatari III: Reiketsu-hen I would say is good. This entire movie was dedicated to concluding the Shinobu and her whole revealed plot from the get go. I didn't have a problem with the reveal but the mc's realization that he basically just revived a vampire that obviously needs to feed on humans to continue to survive did come off as making the mc once again look like an idiot.

Art and Animation (10/10) Masterpiece

I thought the last movie's artstyle and animation was amazing this one is even better. You can tell the animation read more

Kizumonogatari II: Nekketsu-hen Review

Story (6/10) Fair

The story for Kizumonogatari II: Nekketsu-hen can be summed up into a few words "arguable pay off". This movie picks up right where the last one left off which was setting up the goal this is needed to bring the vampire character Oshino Shinobu back to her original state by getting her limbs back. Just like the first movie it waste no time into flinging you into the first of three antagonist. First one is a vampire who hunts vampires because it's a job (so blade....okay and hey look he uses blades..), he was extremely powerful cutting off the read more

Kizumonogatari I: Tekketsu-hen Review

Story (5/10) Mediocre
More Specifically (5.75/10) Mediocre+

The story for Kizumonogatari the first movie at least to me can be summarized up to one simple word "Setup". This is coming from someone who has not watched anything from the Monogatari series what so ever. The story definitely starts off at an odd part showing the mc being lit on fire just to fast forward him meeting some girl who's panties are showcased to him because the wind blew her dress up. After that they just hang out and basically become from friends. Although I understand this is anime and comparison to realism shouldn't read more
