Agreed totally. Given the enormous acclaim those two shows tend to get, I had massive expectations of them but was disappointed a lot since they didn't turn out to be nearly as great as I naturally expected then to be. Steins;Gate at least has a few good moments despite being quite wack & wavering a lot of the times, but Cowboy Bebop was quite disappointing TBH given that it just followed a predictably episodic structure which got quite repetitive & boring after a while, never really hitting it's stride that well before the final few episodes.

I'd say it's one of my top 3 funniest anime. It can be hit or miss, but it hits a lot of the time.

I drop a series if I don't have any reason or desire to continue. I don't really have scores in my mind that way while I'm watching, but to kind of answer the question, I suppose I start thinking about dropping once something is below a 7.
