man i like rikyu! i have never liked a character after i disliked them for their eveil deeds. but this manga wasnt about morality of its characters, it was more about beauty and art and perspectives. tottaly amazing. i got started because a friend in discord recommended that i watch it. i fell in love with it.

I am trying to analyze Sasuke because i have never analaysed a character before. i know his goal is to be know all over japan and leave a mark history, to be the best aethsate. i am trying to figure out his inner struggles and his external struggles. i think his external struggle is for him to be a warrior or a an aethsate. that is the central struggle i think. he have inner struggles about avenging his lord or following hidyoushi. he cant get angry at hidyoushi because he understand him, right. but that is for some moment , it wasnt central. what do u think is his inner struggle? or maybe he doesn't have one?

Hello :)
I have noticed that you watched Hyouge Mono. sorry if this is out of nowhere, but i really like Hyouge Mono that i actually browsed people who have watched it. Do you mind if i have some discussion with you about the show? i thirst for people who like to discuss it. the thing is most people i know didnt watch it or dont like to discuss things. again i am sorry for coming out of no where, but i dont really know how to start a conversation.

Your Devilman review is probably the fairest review I've ever seen, at least on this page

Thank you for that list, these all look wonderful. I've been trying to get into comics and I'm kind of picky about art. I've always stuck to manga because I had a preference for the visual stylings of japanese art for the longest time. It's all about them lovely flowing lines for me~ I'm trying to expand my horizons now.

Yeah, art is difficult. Watching the seasoned artist draw always seems like magic. And don't even get me started with animators: literally H O W?
I wish I had that level of passion and patience!

Who would you change? Who has caught your eye? I'm interested in knowing.
Are you an artist yourself?
Hadal Jan 5, 2018 1:39 AM
Moebius! Druillet! Breccia! I'm so hype to see them here, they are incredible. I've not read any Sergio Toppi or Mike Mignola yet but I have come across their names before. Your page has also introduced me to some new comic artists that I will now extensively seek out. Thank you so much.

I get confused because there are two novels here in MAL called Rokka no Yuusha. One of them is finished and the other is still publishing. Well thanks anyway.
JohnPerez Jan 1, 2018 4:41 PM
Hey man, whats up! I saw your review of Rokka no Yuusha (the light novel) and i have one doubt: Is the light novel finished or not?

What did I gloss over in my Punpun review?
Examples of repetition being the same bits of dialogue and the same situations used again and again, specifically toward the end of the series, in the Nanako arc. "I can see your heart, I can see your truth, let me look at you, look at me, no one would ever look at my heart" were lines that were repeated well after we got the idea. "Preachy" in that Yamamoto had a point that he drove into our heads repeatedly instead of letting his work speak for itself, which, while not bad in-and-of itself, is not something that I personally find enjoyable in a series. I don't know what more to add seeing as I'd have to open up the manga again and re-read bits to give you more examples, which would take some time. Thanks for the comment though.

Woah, thank you so much for the recs!!!! So thoughtful and detailed. o_o There's a few I haven't heard of, mixed with titles I've been meaning to read forever, haha. Ravages of Time sounds especially interesting at the moment.

The only series I've read/seen are Hi no Tori, Pandora Hearts, Emanon, Historie (next chapter where?!), Shouwa Genroku Rakugo Shinjou, and Kaoru Mori's stuff, all of which I enjoyed. I started on Hyouge Mono some time ago, really need to finish that... (nice pun btw xD). Anyways, it seems that we have very similar taste in anime/manga, so I'm excited to check out your other recs. Thanks again! :)

I'll be thinking of some recs for you too! Will probably write back this week. ^^

That's a good point, hehe. I'm on the lookout for all sorts of things, but here are a few specifics. ^^

1. Epic fantasy or historical adventure manga. Most of the ones I've read are pretty popular, like Kingdom, Berserk, Vinland Saga, etc. However, manga like Golden Kamuy, Shut Hell, and Song of the Long March (although technically a manhua) are good examples of lesser known ones that I love. I didn't know about them until my friend recommended them to me, so I wonder what else is out there.

2. Seinen or dark/psychological manga with children as the main characters. Examples: The Promised Neverland, Birdmen, Twin Spica, Bokurano, and Gunslinger Girl. Some of these are shounen but could be mistaken for seinen.

3. Manga with Ghibli vibes, usually because of the art style or fantasy themes.

4. Stories about reincarnation and/or time travel. Examples: Spirit Circle and Please Save My Earth. (I tried NG Life, but it has too much comedy for me)

5. Military manga like Gunka no Baltzar, Groundless, and Zipang (also a time travel one).

6. Manga with an antihero or strong female lead, that also fits into my favorite genres.

And for each of these types, having likable characters and good character development is important to me. ^^

I'd appreciate anything you can think of, even if it's just one or two manga. :D And if you are looking for a certain type of manga or anime, I'd be happy to give you recs as well!

So sorry for my late reply!! >< I'm gonna try to get more active on here.

Wow, you're in luck then! Although you won't get to the main story in just two volumes, I'd still recommend checking them out before buying, just so you have an idea of what the manga is like. Also, thanks so much for offering to help translate! I'll let you know when/if my friend and I start this project back up again. :)

And yup, that be Shut Hell! It's a really great manga that was recommended to me. I'd throw it in my top 20 somewhere. ^^

You've read quite a lot of manga. Do you have any hidden gems to recommend? :O

You feel like water? Homie, you've watched too much martial arts anime!!!!! Buahahaha you really aren't settled. DUDE MY FAVORITES ARE BETTER THAN YOURS BY A MILLION LIGHT YEARS (BOTH ANIME AND MANGAS), FIGHT ME BRO!!! COME AT ME!!! I'LL FUCK YOU UP MATE!!!!!

Haha you basically summarised my way of doing things with that example of yours bruh. The laziness is strong with this one (Darth Vader voice). Ahh you have French as a second language? Nice, I studied French from elementary school till I finished high school. I was really good at dictations and essays but I sucked a bit at speaking whatever I wrote. Unfortunately, lack of practice has finally killed my proficiency now smh. It's a typical behaviour of we living things to be more sensitive/conscious about things we're terrible at, so I understand how you feel. Look at you all flexing now with the line below,
You: ..my brilliant English.
Me: BOY!!!!!!!

On that last request, no problem dude. I've locked unto you as my sniping target from here. I'll give you a head shot from here just like they killed my nigga Harambe!!! DICKS OUT FOR HARAMBE!!! DICKS OUT!!!!

Wow, I wasn't expecting anyone to ask me about Lindbergh! I really adore this manga, so I'm happy that you asked. :D

First, here's a cool trailer for it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jG734LphKD0

Very few manga have ever excited me the way that Lindbergh has. Just from reading the first volume alone, I knew that it was going to be special. If you enjoy world-building and aviation stories, including sky pirates, mysterious floating islands, dragons, and a female conqueror antagonist, then this will be a real treat! However, the main cover is a little misleading. I first thought that it was going to be a lighthearted kiddie adventure, haha. While it is indeed fun and charming part of the time, the main story of Lindbergh is more serious and darker than I expected, and it has enough to appeal to the taste of adults. It had moments that really got to me emotionally (all the more reason why I love it though). As for the characters, I found them all to be easily lovable. My favorite character is Shark, the charismatic and mysterious leader of a gang of pirates. He pretty much stole the whole show for me. :P Another highlight of this manga is the artwork, which is very unique and pretty. Here's a pic of my collection: http://puu.sh/lxcpW/6177ada027.jpg

Unfortunately, Lindbergh is an obscure manga. Only 9 chapters have been translated into English online, and there hasn't been a new release in over a year. I was too impatient to wait for the rest, so I bought all the volumes in German and translated them for myself. It took a few months, but it was well worth it! After getting my friend to read it, we translated chapters 10 and 11 together and added them to the scans, which I'd be happy to share with you. However, I'm not sure if we will continue translating this because it's very demanding of our time (we don't know German or Japanese, so we rely on website translators and friends to help us out), but who knows, we might pick it up again sometime.

I can also give you the Japanese raw scans if you're able to read those. Your other option is to buy the volumes in Italian or German. However, I'm still hopeful that Eldura Scanlations will continue to work on this wonderful manga. She seemed very passionate about translating it because it's also one of her favorites, but I'm guessing that life just got in the way for her too... Anyways, please let me know what I can do to help if you're interested in reading it! Overall, it's one of the most unique manga that I've had the pleasure of reading, and I hope that more people will be able to read it someday.
