Amazing Fire Punch review! Though I don't know why you gave a 3 for the art, it was at least a 5 in my opinion, because I wouldn't say the art was bad. But the characters and especially the story parts of your review are totally on point. "It just became a huge clown fiesta of random plot points, random character introductions, and random moments in general." - that's EXACTLY what I thought about this manga.

And I think you're right about "like it was just a huge prank the author pulled on me". Read these lines from the penultimate chapter of Fire Punch.

"This burning man seemed to be the main character, because the movie [change it to "the manga"] was entirely focused on him. Sometimes he'd be fighting something, kill it and then get killed over and over. It was so gruesome, and I don't get the point of it."
