Hello. I recently found a review you made for the Baki anime on Netflix.
While I find some of your points justified there are also some things that you seem to have misunderstood.
Don't worry, this is not hate mail:)
First of all, you mentioned how the writers did a bad job for this season and how Netflix is ruining older anime. While I personally agree with the fact that the Death Row convicts saga is not too good(probably my least favorite arc), there are no "writing teams", every Baki anime is based on Itagaki Keisuke's manga, so if you didn't like this particular arc, unfortunately it's not Netflix's fault. Every arc is Itagaki Keisuke's story.
Secondly, you complained about Baki becoming stronger after s**. While I agree that Baki as a character was quite boring during this arc, I think you misunderstood his "power up". Baki did not become stronger after s** like a dragon ball character. If you'll check the Yanagi fight again you'll see that the whole point was that Baki lost due to his childlike naivety. Yanagi didn't win cause he was stronger, faster or more skilled, he won because Baki let his guard down because he chose to be childish and got overly curious about Yanagi's story. So the idea behind s** making Baki stronger is supposed to be that he became more mature after going through this experience and became less childlike, therefore he was now more focused during his battles and treated them less like games.(this is actually quite well written, Baki lost due to being childish and careless in the past too, like during his fight with Zulu, but after this he was much more serious). So s** didn't raise his strength or speed or skills, it just helped him grow mentally. (Also in the overall manga Baki is usually the center of attention, so an arc more dedicated to the rest of characters is quite cool)
You also complained about the 5 death row convicts not living up to their hype. With this I have to agree. Dorian has been hyped ever since the Maximum tournament and yet his actual combat skills were mediocre(without tools and weapons). Still, it was never claimed that these guys were actually close to Yujiro, that was probably just your impression, not to mention that our protagonists are also insanely strong, so the fact that they managed to deal with the convicts isn't really that problematic (Jack can defeat polar bears, Hanayama can destroy a car with his bare hands, Kosho can cut flesh with his fingers like they were blades and so on). I think the author wanted to focus more on the aspects of street-fighting rather than making it another arc about big one vs one fights and because of that we had plenty of them being defeated when the protagonists took away their advantages(Retsu defeated Doyle after he used weapons as well, Sikorski was beaten by Baki in a surprise attack and by Jack in the arena where he had to fight fair and square). Again, it's also not one of my favorite arcs, Yanagi lost in a ridiculous and unsatisfying way and Doyle was a weakling, I'm just saying that maybe your own impressions were also a bit too blown out of proportion.
Sorry for the long comment, it's just that I've been a big Baki fan since before the Netflix adaptation so I tend to get a bit heated when I see that people don't like certain parts of the story because they don't understand what the writing is actually about. The Pickle saga which I think got animated recently for example can easily be misunderstood as a violent barbaric story, but it's actually a great story about what it means to be human and what it means to be a warrior and seeing Pickle growing from the mentality of a simple beast towards grasping the understanding of certain ideals is really beautiful, not to mention that the characters that fight him go through some amazing character arcs.
I hope I didn't bother you. Good bye.

Hi there. Just to mention that Black Lagoon is from 2006. So it's outside the range from the range of years that was in the theme for Song of the Month. Can you change to a song that falls within 1996-2005 please (anime has to be from the year range as well).
