Nah, what usually happens with inexperienced golfers is that the ground goes a farther distance than the ball. Well, maybe that's an exaggeration but you get my drift, right? Or you just get stuck in a sand trap and take 5 or 6 swings to get back out.

Yup. People make due with whatever surrounds them or whatever opportunities come their way. haha and yeah, I'm pretty sure you guys do more than just sit on dirt. There's lots of other stuff to count too! Well, sometimes ignorance can be bliss. I'd say I'm ignorant on a lot of stuff, but I do ask questions and seek answers on things every now and then. Anyway, the one thing I envy about those places not near beaches is that they usually involve cool lakes, wildlife, and mountainous landscapes that are pretty much unheard of here.

That's good that it all panned out. Doesn't need to be glamorous if it brings home the bacon! I'm assuming you run into some good conversation too occasionally in a setting like that.

Yeah, cuteness can overrun a lack of intelligence, whether it involves pets or people! haha

Golf isn't as straightforward a sport as it looks for sure! I've had friends try and they can barely make the ball move a few yards. I bet you could fly a golf club though if you tried, as that's something I've done at least once before!

Nice. Would be quite the shock if the two of us instantly switched places. Not sure if trees, grass, and dirt is my style though since I like concrete and asphalt more. And yeah, the beaches here are nice in different ways. You get the rush of the swells during the winter and the gleaming calmness of the summer. It's best though to be into fishing, diving, surfing, bodyboarding, or some sort of ocean-related activity if you want to make the best of Hawaii. As little as I go to the beach, I think I would miss it if I moved to somewhere resembling of your area. That's a fun event though at that school, I bet!

That's really not that bad of a schedule. You get to catch late night events still and stay out for a bit. Early can be good in ways like that person you know, as your body really doesn't catch sight of what time it is in the day until your shift's pretty much over. Oh, and what kind of job were you undertaking btw if you don't mind me asking?

Failed sounds pretty harsh, but I'm sure he was a success outside of that! What a great story nonetheless, as that's something I wouldn't want to think about in euthanizing a dog.

Darn. That would've been neat to be standing on a roof like that. I just remember hitting a roof with a golf ball during a school tournament. That's all the experience I have with a roof. Those were good times though, getting to skip out on class and play with some of the worst people in the state!

Yup. We Hawaii people don't know what conventional means when it comes to primary school campuses. Everything's so laid back and unconventional to the norms. Bet it would blow my mind to visit the average American or Japanese high school for sure!

You'll get used to it. Hopefully your hours aren't as bad as like my one friend (1-9pm). But for him that was good because he'd go diving or golfing during the morning time. I don't even want to know what it's like for people who work graveyard shifts at like convenience stores or whatnot. Bottom line is you get a job with a pretty set and standard schedule and not have random days off or assigned to you.

Oh, no way? That's nice. I know I had my pets longer than that, but the time just goes by too quick! Is your dog male or female and is he/she aggressive or more friendly? Pretty cool how the service dogs and the ones that are well-trained can be so behaved and composed.

I just am bummed that I never got to walk through those cool hallways or stand tall on the rooftops. Where I'm from those do not exist in any form whatsoever. Very unconventional to what's portrayed in most movies and sources of entertainment. haha yup! Living costs do take some adjustment and time. I can't say I'm pleased with my life, but I figure things happen or unfold in certain ways for a reason.

So lousy! I mean the teachers. Sure you had those few that you thought should look elsewhere for a career or the ones you wonder about how they got approved to teach in the first place. I bet I'd want out of such a town too. The only thing about my town though is that it's a good 25 min drive away from the closest community college and maybe 40 from the nearest university-level campus. And that's without good old Hawaii traffic factored in. Plus the rail they're building here won't even be coming to my area. At least yet. Btw, are we talking Louisiana or Los Angeles? Always get confused with the LA acronym since some don't use the dots.

"Get shit done" was a line I know someone else on my friends list used. I'm all about the nocturnal life too! The night time is the right time! Well, for me it's the only applicable time for real romance shows (hentai)... haha

The walking dogs part sounded interesting. I had dogs too back in the day when I was young and reckless. I regret not paying more attention to them though, as pets are really awesome to have around when you're younger especially!

It's all on me though for my university failures. I never developed a proper ethic back then and let the whole "senioritis" thing to close out high school and some family rifts get to me. Even nowadays I find myself like a fish out of water. Looks like you went down a relatively similar path too. I can see why high school is a big thing in anime because those really are the happy days and good times! Nah, but I'm sure we both have a lot in store for our lives. Can't get too down on the past or present, even if everything surrounding you consists of gray skies.

At my high school there was no such thing as homework. At least to me it was nonexistent or a rare occurrence. Good on her though for getting out of state. Always refreshing to experience a new setting every now and then.

I see. Well, do make the most of those 7-8 months. You'll learn and discover things you couldn't possibly hear or know about in a classroom or whatnot.
StyleF1re Jan 27, 2016 12:08 AM
If I knew my high school life was going to be so drab or irrelevant to the present and future I would've done the same. My high school was fairly easygoing, but idk. Probably weren't too many places nearby and such and at that age driving to work was pretty much out of the question. But that's pretty smooth in both cases for your friend and roommate. I did have a job during my first university year, but too bad I cared nothing for academics and later got suspended following a probation period. But yup, first impressions are important no matter what you're dealing with, and work is no different. Going back to your best friend though, wow! That must've paid dividends in the long run.

Some people can handle not having days off. It might just be a matter of getting used to things and not having friends/family that are demanding or expecting you to be around for events and such. Just make sure you don't overdo things, I guess. Money's no good if you don't have the health (or peace of mind) and time to back it up!
StyleF1re Jan 26, 2016 1:45 PM
Nice. Just depends on how badly you need the money and what you can handle. Once it starts compromising what you can do with your life or lifestyle, then that's when you gotta dial things back or look elsewhere for better opportunities. I know of people who worked multiple jobs, people who have worked for weeks/months straight without days off, and one person that fit in multiple jobs with a possibly full-time college education. Some people are just superhuman or locked in, I tell you!
StyleF1re Jan 25, 2016 7:32 PM
Money makes the world go round. I remember during my last full-time stint life was practically work, anime, workouts (for a brief stretch), and sleep throughout the year. No idea how I managed such repetition, but it can be done! But yup, I've said all along that the day needs more hours and the year needs more days...

MapleStory (on the Reboot server). So much for dumping it. I briefly forgot about anime during these past four weeks and will be catching up hopefully sooner than later.

Same to you! I've been slacking really bad on replies as of late. Guess that's what happens when you get addicted to a game. Might dump it soon though... haha
StyleF1re Dec 11, 2015 12:36 AM
haha I don't blame you having noticed the date of the previous comment on your page. But yeah, anime is what's good. Same old, same old outside of that, but such is life. Lots of boring times or downtime to make all the fun times and good times all the more merrier!

StyleF1re Nov 30, 2015 12:22 AM
What's good?
