This small side story occurs when Ash is still a child (presumably around 10-11 years old) and living under Dino´s roof. After several incidents Dino decides that military education will be more to Ash´s liking and that´s when Blanca comes to the scene.
The art is the same quality as in entire Banana Fish manga and personally I liked this author´s style very much. Story itself is bittersweet, showing not only grim sides of Ash´s growing up, but surprisingly also Blanca funny moments (yes, he has them). Characters, as always, are strong portrayed. No wonder since both Ash and Blanca are very difficult and deep

Mahou Shoujo Site Sept
(Manga)
add
Mahou Shoujo Site Sept serves as a spin-off of the Mahou Shoujo Site series. Therefore, reading it is not crucial to the main story.
The art was pretty average, not better or worse than in the series. What I did like were new magical weapons and abilities. Weak sides of this manga are mostly characters which lack development and quite predictable story. Some of the characters appear also in Mahou Shoujo Site, but that it not interfering with the story. Overal for me 6/10 since I didn´t enjoy this story as much the other works from this author. However, the manga is quite short, so you ... Aug 28, 2018
I came across the "Another" by coincidence and must say, I was very pleasantly surprised. The story focuses itself on the mysterious events happening in particular highschool in small city hidden in the forests. After the first episode, the story got me immediately hooked. I must say though that there are elements that I noticed before in other anime of similar genre (Shiki, Shinsekai yori etc.). I wouldn´t even say that it´s that much gore as it is mysterious.
The pacing and storytelling is accurate, not too fast and not too slow, the finale is unexpected and wraps the story pretty surprisingly. The art was ... Aug 28, 2018
Vampire Knight: Memories
(Manga)
add
Vampire Knight: Memories is a free sequel to the events depicted in original VK manga. After Kaname´s wake up, Yuuki´s children tell him about what everything has changed since his own death. The manga is notably different from the original not only because it finally focuses on developing the relationship between Zero and Yuuki, but also because of new characters and reccurence of the old one (Maria, Yori, Hanabusa etc.).
The art is outstanding, very pleasant and clean. There doesn´t seem some big plot evolving so far, so it´s unsure what will the story bring in the future. But overall I like this manga very ... May 18, 2018
Majuu-hen (or probably known by many as Wraith arc) is a sequel of classic PMMM and prequel of Rebellion. I have reread this manga multiple times and must say, it really is very good. The characters are well-portrayed, especially MC Homura. The pacing of story is okay, not rushed and most of the stuff is covered in there (probably in the last chapter). Moreover, there is explained how Homura gained her new abilities that we can see later in Rebellion. The art is great, as in PMMM or Rebellion manga, very pleasant and clean.
Overall, I enjoyed this manga very much and ... May 2, 2018
Mahou Shoujo Suzune★Magica
(Manga)
add
I´ve read several Madoka spin-off so far and I must say, I found Suzune to be probably the best spin-off so far. First of all, the story itself focuses on entirely different characters, different environment etc. I personally found not only MC Suzune, but also other protagonists very enjoayble. The art is very good, simply great. Loved it. Also the story continuity was interesting and easy to read and understand. Overall enjoyment was very high for me, 9/10. Maybe if I would come across better spin-off, I´ll change it; but so far this is the best spin-off for me. For die-hard Madoka fans, I

This manga is spin-off of Mahou Shoujo Madoka Magica series, something like canon-divergence. The story itself is pretty good considering it´s not easy to write a solid Madoka spin-off. The art is very nice, and also characters are very enjoyable. There were parts that were funny and also part that were serious as hell. It´s pretty short so you might as well binged it at once. Maybe one negative was that the story itself was pretty much predictable even with the small changes compared to the timeline we can watch in anime series. But overall, according to me solid 7/10.

Yuru Camp△
(Manga)
add
It´s basically a story about cute girls going camping, building friendship etc. The art is nice (according to me nicer than in the anime), there are a lot of funny moments and since its short, you can easily read in all at once. What was lacking was some kind of character development, but since the story is about girl finding new friends I guess this was achieved; but don´t expect anything more.
And interesting fact: I´ve read this manga on manganelo.com. I don´t know about other pages, but the version on this side has always 1-2 pages extra from the translator, where are very putative ... Apr 29, 2018
Ousama Game: Kigen
(Manga)
add
It´s not very common that prequels exceeds its original, but this is exactly what happened with Ousama Game. OG: Kigen serves as a prequel and offeres a very unique insight to the times, where the "King" was forced to use letters instead of phone messages and how would a whole village react to the common enemy.
According to me, the story was very good and decent. Art was also very pleasurable. This manga contains totally different characters and I dare to say, better characters than Ousama Game. The explanation is given according to the whole "virus" thing and about creation of the "King" and "Kings´s ... Apr 29, 2018
Ousama Game
(Manga)
add
Okay I might be in the oposite club for overall hated Ousama Game, but I´m kinda used to that already. Personally I really enjoyed Ousama Game manga. I binged it during waiting for anime.
The story is way better than in the anime, not to mention tension and action. Nobuaki is better portrayed, even enjoyable and when his part in the story ended, I felt he was missing in it. I do understand that lot of people don´t like Ousama Game because of anime, but manga seems like a different and better story in my eyes. Art was nice. And ending, ... |
