I won't normally add sequels to recommendations but this one is too obvious to not add. They both involve the beloved central character from the main series disappearing from the world line and everyone acting as if they never existed, except the protagonist knows something is wrong. There are time travel shenanigans in both.

Suzumiya Haruhi has definite Science Adventure Series vibes to it. Conceptually, it is pretty similar to ChäoS;HEAd, but the group dynamics and overall quality are more like Steins;Gate. Weird stuff happens for vaguely scientific reasons, and it would be spoily to get into details, but Suzumiya shares a lot of the mystery and philosophical aspects to ChäoS;HEAd.

Suzumiya Haruhi has definite Science Adventure Series vibes to it. Conceptually, it is pretty similar to ChäoS;HEAd, but the group dynamics and overall quality are more like Steins;Gate. The SOS brigade is a lot like the Future Gadget Laboratory, headed by an obnoxious larger-than-life deluded individual and doing pointless projects to stave off boredom. The overall vibe is similar to the first part of Steins;Gate before Steins;Gate becomes sad.

Similar vibe and story. The MC is a girl in a historical setting born into a lower caste in a very socially stratified society. But she uses her intelligence and knowledge to advance herself, catching the eye of higher ups. She has to tread carefully as as a low class girl her life is cheap and could be taken for any mishap or perceived mishap. The MCs are similar in that they aren't really interested in power but they are obsessed with one thing (books for Myne and drugs/herbs for MaoMao). Oh, and both shows are very, very good.

Similar setting (Imperial China) and characters. You have a strong independent female lead who gets kidnapped and forced into a lowly state, but she uses her high wits and specialized expertise to survive and advance herself. By shining so brightly, she catches the attention of a powerful handsome noble who falls for her, though she doesn't exactly return the affection, at first. The handsome noble is keeping some secrets about his identity. In the case of Meng Qi Shi Shen, she is a rising chef who gets isekaied, but manages to impress people with her culinary skills. Kusuriya no Hitorigoto is not an isekai, but might as well be one given how impressive the knowledge of the MC is even compared to modern science. She is an apothecary but is somehow also the ultimate detective. The worlds are kept fairly realistic with minimal fantasy elements. But there is a certain level of power fantasy due to how immensely capable the MCs are. Kusuriya no Hitorigoto is better though.

Both have rich orchestral music by Evan Call. Both have a powerful female MC who struggles to understand human emotions, but starts to develop the understanding while interacting with people during emotionally charged events. These are character-driven stories. Violet Evergarden is more slice of life and episodic compared to Frieren, and Frieren has much more combat action.

Both are isekais focused on food preparation. The food takes the central stage and looks delicious. Though beyond that, they are fairly different, because Campfire Cooking is super chill with no real challenges and is slice of life with no central conflict or goal, and Cinderella Chef is plot driven with difficulties to overcome.

Both of these works follow a very similar plot and story structure and MC. The world is full of yokai who mostly persist hidden from the eye of humans, despite interacting with them. In both, the MC is a renowned expert and is summoned by yokai to solve problems occurring in between the world of yokai and humans. The MC is a rude woman with powerful intelligence and is able to investigate and solve the issue with ease. The tone is somewhat different in either case. Kyokou Suiri focuses more on the sleuthing part, sort of a Sherlock Holmes type story, while Bai Yao Pu focuses more on the beauty of the situation. Kyokou makes you think, while Bai Yao Pu makes you cry.

They aren't that similar, but they both have an episodic or short arc format where the focus is on the plight of some side character. The story of the side character gets wrapped up and you feel good at the end (or you are crying). They both have MCs who outwardly show some unheroic character flaws like greed, minor abuse, but are deep down good people. Gintama is a lot more goofy while Bai Yao Pu is very serious. The side characters of Gintama mostly stick around in future arcs but mostly disappear in Bai Yao Pu.

There are similarities in the story structure and topics, though there are also substantial differences. It shows you the story behind the suffering of different yokai each arc, and this is handled by the mysterious powerful MC. But the tone of Mononoke is a lot more horrifying, and Bai Yao Pu is a lot more humane in that MC generally cures the yaoguai instead of vanquishing them like Mononoke. Nevertheless, in both the focus is on the yokai/yaoguai themselves rather than on the MC, and you get to see the story of how they came to be that way. If you like the concept of Mononoke but don't like the disturbing tone and visuals, try Bai Yao Pu. If you like Bai Yao Pu and want to see something more art-house insane, try Mononoke.

These two anime are very similar in plot, style, and presentation. You have gratuitous violence, superpowered kids subject to all sorts of torture, evil organization capturing these kids, overly maniacal and stupid villains, and lots of death. It's an unbelievably fucked up world, filled with fucked up children raised by fucked up parents. The main girl in both is superpowered but mentally handicapped. The main difference is that Deadman Wonderland, the main boy is also superpowered.

Both stories center around a pair of queer adventurers in an ancient China fantasy. And both are high quality. The main similarity is the main characters. Bai Yuxiu is very similar to Lan Wangji (proper noble clad in white with powerful martial arts), and Feng Ling'er is similar to Wei Wuxian (chaotic troublemaker with hidden power). However, Mo Dao Zu Shi is more focused on the drama and is very emotionally gut-wrenching. Feng Ling Yu Xiu is much more action oriented and isn't as sad.

Both are parody shows with very unheroic heroes who are more driven by greed and poverty than altruism. In the end, they care about each other though they treat each other like trash. They often save the day in the end, but can't catch a break in terms of public opinion because of bad luck, poor professionalism, and their propensity to fuck things up as much as they fix them.
