Meanwhile, it's extremely hard to distinguish quality from quantity, with many people throwing around either 10/10 or 1/10 ratings like there's no tomorrow.
Real factual criticism is now rare, which simply lists the pros and cons of a show. Many people find that logic to be a thorn in their side and love to use phrases like "Why do you watch it if you don't like it". Well, you'll never know if you like it or not until you finish watching it.
It's just that people like something simple and something they can feel connected to.
No Game No Life is a clichéd story without a solid foundation that just floats along. With slow pacing, many weak scenes, bad dialogues and worst of all the characters.
The kawaii moe Shiro, who is literally only half a fan service character with no personality. The rest of the side characters are hot air. And like you said, Sora is the biggest problem.
He is supposed to represent the otakus and put them in a better light. To accomplish this, he was made so intelligent that even his brain cells can't keep up with his perception and logic.
It's the usual scheme when you have no ideas. Then the authors try to throw everything into a pot, where they think it could somehow become popular. Siscons, badass otakus, isekai, games, fan service, anime references, melodrama and tadaaaa...!
Btw, dont need to be afraid of NGNL fans, just stay to your opinion.
