Welcome to Jinny's MAL
Hello everyone~ I'm a Korean student studying abroad in the States. I decided to make MAL just to keep a record of the animes I've watched :D Feel free to take a look and judge my ratings haha
As a veteran gacha gamer, I also have been playing Genshin since patch 1.3 (UID: 823663633) on the Asia server. Let's be friends!
Neon Genesis Evangelion
The Evangelion series is very close to my heart as it was one of the first animes I grew up watching. Now, I can say with confidence that it has evolved into something more than just an anime for me.
With the series' conclusion in 2021, I was mindblown once again and am so grateful to have been able to witness the ending of such a grand franchise. I can ramble on about Eva's legacy and its influence on Japanese pop culture, but there are plenty of analytical articles on that. In fact, Eva isn't a series that I would casually recommend to people because everyone's experience varies drastically.
Personally, it helped me go through some of the most difficult periods of my life. The humanness of each of the characters and their mental struggles allowed me to identify with them on a personal level as well as reflect on my flaws, decisions, and reality. So if you want to step foot into this amazing journey, definitely start by listening to some of the soundtracks! You won't regret it.
Attack on Titan
Will write a review/description once the final final FINAL episode releases :3
Dragon Ball
How can you possibly not fall in love with Dragon Ball? The dynamic story, the intricate universe, and the ever-developing characters were what made me captivated as a child. Looking back, I think Goku was my first role model, and I looked up to him for his resilience, pure heart, and determination to become the strongest.
Now I'm almost 20, but when I re-watch the Cell Saga or that time when Goku first transforms into a Super Saiyan, I feel that same rush of euphoria and excitement. You cheer on the characters you love and leave the battle scene liking the villains as well. I rarely have moments where I feel like a child again, and I appreciate it, so much, for bringing those memories back to me.
It's no surprise that Dragon Ball has remained an icon of Shonen anime/manga. I can't say that Dragon Ball will be or has been the best anime of all time, but it's certainly the most memorable.
