A non spoiler review
This is simply a review for the older anime viewers. The ones who find the selection nowadays pretty bleak in terms of content that has a similar feel of great anime's of the early 90's to mid 2000's.
Its not a complex story by any means, a mix of episodic and over arching narrative. And mainly a character piece. One about the stories characters (mainly the protagonist's) and the character of humanity as a whole and as seperate entities.
I dont believe in a life after death or religion, but as a fantasy story telling element i love it. It has more possibilities

First review. But won't go into any detail on this series.
My advice is to go in with little knowledge of the story and if you find yourself bored or frustrated with the first couple of episodes, then strive through them and asses the series by ep 8. If by then your not enjoying the series, id suggest dropping it. A choice i made years ago after only viewing the first 2 episodes. I put it on the back burner for 6-7 years..
