Endearing, a moving re-telling of the timeless classic. I have always adored the spiritual devoted love story at the heart of "The Snow Queen" and this anime captures and represents it beautifully. Even with the inclusion of notable fairytale characters from other recognizable childhood stories, the series still exudes the exquisite and encouraging aura of this Coming of Age adventure-and the unbreakable power of true love.
The screen and character writing are richly done and the traditional animation style truly makes this a hidden gem viewers of all ages can appreciate and be touched by. Certainly one of the best adaptations of the tale ever

Breathtaking, movingly written, and sweeping reimagining of the epic story. As a fan of the original series, I was very intrigued to see this along with the new characters, plot lines, and other elements included in this version. While the CGI anime style differs from the traditional 2D in the first series, it is nevertheless visually enveloping and awesome to immerse yourself in. The well-rounded complexities of every character was richly conveyed and touched me just as deeply as in the first anime adaptation, albeit on a deeper level. Though not as comical as the former, it has a lot of heart and feels to

A pulse-pounding and deeply in depth anime version of the amazing video game series! The style is fantastically smooth and retains the drama and internally-driven grit of the original storyline. The characters were just as intriguing, rich, and complex as in the games and I was very pleased how they were written in the series, really made them all the more interesting. Both emotional and spiritually engrossing aesthetic with an intriguing air of mystery that makes Heroic Journey stories such as this one so resonant.
A shame it was not renewed for a second season, I really was eager to see the story continue. Jul 7, 2022

Probably one of the best anime of it's category if not the best. Gorō Taniguchi is an amazing director and you clearly can see how much heart and brain he puts into this series. Engaging story, hero's journey and conflict of ideals is top of the tops, complex and well developed characters, epic crazy action that tries to simulate real life politics and physics as much as tech allows it... this anime is one that reflects themes and subjects prevalent through human history that I for certain will be watching it over and over again.

I LOVE this manga! The whole idea of the spiral curse terrifying and having a psychological and transformative impact on a small sea-side town was very well done. The reason as to why the spiral has such a profound and chilling control over the residents, is masterfully revealed at the end is quiet a twist. All of the characters are intriguing and very complex and I was taken with how each chapter focused on specific ones as the spiral's grip on the town and its people became more powerful. Junji Ito truly keeps the story gripping and presents a compelling yet beautifully scary ending, as

This manga shines light on the complexities and the darkness of love, especially Young Love. Sekai Saionji (I was all for calling her Best Girl in the series at first) is a crazed and manipulative girl who literally took advantage of her friends budding romance and destroyed it with jealous callousness. It was slightly better than the anime adaptation where Makoto Itou's more of an admirable character yet dense while wrestling with his intimate feelings. Had the anime stuck more true to the manga with good elements from the Visual Novel, it could have been better. I am not opposed to tragedies, yet the ending

Ridiculously funny while mocking classic superhero teams, kanji and zombie cinema. I honestly preferred this OVA more than Valentine's Day and the main anime series as the central characters actually come off as more relatable, funny, and easy to like (except for Sekai personally to an extent). The original series would have been a lot better in terms of the characters had it portrayed them in the light of this OVA- Makoto Itou was more likable in this for sure. Katsura I loved as Magical Word and would loved for her to have had the same outgoing and brave persona in the main series as

Thrillingly entertaining, over-the-top, lewdly funny, mecha epic... and no doubt one of my favorite titles in the "Tenchi Muyo" franchise. While it is a stretch apart from previous series, I loved how there were subtle references to the original story despite the absence of characters we all know and love, it still retained the overt sexual humor and charm its known for. Also enjoyed this one as it had a more serious tone in contrast to the preceding series and while a number of the female protagonists were to an extent infuriating and annoying, they did have their redeeming qualities and helped drive the story

One of the most shockingly lewd, thrilling and mentally-twisting anime I have seen to date. Hardcore, perversely hilarious and psychologically trying. The trials the five guys go through literally feel so relatable, it is almost as if you are in the same prison with them and fighting to survive, physically and internally. I have read and watched different mediums of fiction where women in positions of dominance is the main premise, yet this anime practically explodes full force with it. To say the least, it is a whirlwind of an anime that sends you on an emotional and creepily sensual roller-coaster ride. In that sense,

Admittedly I enjoyed this OVA a degree more than the initial series mainly for the ridiculous, creepy, and wild comedic air at the center of it, plus the fact Itou Makoto is more likable and easy to sympathize with (as far as tormented harem protagonists are), especially with his female peers each forcing him to accept their chocolates (not to mention Taisuke). The story certainly made for a cute extra episode though still could have gone into deeper depth I thought. Actually would have preferred the original series to have had the same amusing tone and writing as this without the convoluted drama.
