Not bad for an early 2000s anime. I found this one mildly funny although it kind of left more to be desired in my opinion. The plot was more or less basic and most of the characters were entertaining hilariously, still it did not grab me for some reason.
The main male protagonist was okay yet Natsu and her aunt were the only two characters who I really liked.
While I love Samurai-themed anime, this one did not excite me as much as I thought it would but made me laugh when the humor was well struck. It's not terrible but at the same time kind

Heartfelt Slice of Life comedy that captures the drama and misadventures of sports teams plus the struggles of adolescence beautifully. This anime was suggested to me by a friend and while sport-themed fiction is not really my forte, I love how it addresses young love, teamwork, overcoming self-doubt and doing ones best regardless of the odds. While the main love story between Kamane and Amuro is one that is all too familiar, I nevertheless enjoyed it along with the craziness their fellow teammates bring about. The passion, outrageous hilariousness and relatable air blend together well making it a joy to watch. Whether you play/love sports

or not, it's just the sort of anime to inspire, uplift and show to people that it's okay if you fall from time to time-as long as you don't give up and stand by those who believe in you, you can accomplish a great deal. Certainly has made me eager to read the manga as well.

I watched this anime on suggestion from a friend and am DEEPLY IN LOVE WITH IT. I have seen different robot/cyborg themed anime before (primarily action super hero ones) yet this was something special. A Slice of Life Romantic Comedy with the right amount of heart, humor and harrowing moments that draw you in wanting to see more. The relationship between Hideki and Chi is so endearing and really hits deep as do the other central characters bonds with persocoms. They make the viewer think about what it means to truly be human and the love that transcends real and artificial lines.
Hiroyasu is my favorite

character for much the same reason Hideki is for his helpful and kind self. Yet he had a trauma with persocoms, like Yumi and Takako. His marriage to his persocom Yumi was touching despite it considered unusual, even when she developed a hard disk fault and started to break, his devotion to her was admirable and humbling. Warm, humble and passionate MC's such as Hiroyasu are ones I love and respect most in that they represent there's no shame to love another, regardless of what sets them apart or how others will look at the relationship. This is a dilemma many of the characters find themselves having to face which pushes past its own universe and piques the viewer to put themselves in their situation in reconciling and pondering their feelings for persocoms.
As robotics and A.I. continue to advance, it begs the question of how humanity will regard man-made beings. Will we feel for and regard them no different than we do ourselves or will the divide between the two remain constant? A gem of an anime anyone can be impacted by and learn from, as it is the love and friendship others share that matters most and really defines who we are, no matter what sets two individuals apart. Happy to call this one of my favorites and it's just the right feel good anime for when life gets you down and need something uplifting, sweet and relatable to watch.

This anime is a very mixed bag. On the good side it illustrates well how confusing, emotionally tepid and trying love-especially young love can be merged with unresolved emotions and sense of true devotion while on the bad, exploring the consequences of infidelity. Although I wish it defied and steered away from certain established and over-used tropes present in the Harem, Ecchi and High School genres. It was watchable and engaging up towards the sixth episode where the Love Triangle really began to get convoluted. All in all, I would not put it on a ranking as the best anime of its genre, yet is

good as a guilty pleasure. Still, it could have been better had it been more true to the manga while incorporating more noble elements from the Visual Novel-mostly in providing more redeeming qualities to the main characters.
That being said, it does tell a cautionary story that all should learn from and apply lessons when dealing with issues of romance, fidelity, manipulative friends/peers, lust vs love, and treating others with honor and respect. It also vividly shows how the problems of cheating on ones partners, lack of sexual education, assault, indecision, and ill treatment of others (particularly women) can lead to disasters. Each are very sensitive and serious topics on concern the more research I did on them in Japanese society today and School Days if nothing else makes it clear how they make people despicable and injure the lives of those hurt by dishonest misdeeds. These are attitudes and cultural viewpoints a number of societies today really need to steer away from and take into account.
As far as the characters go: Sekai was genuinely nice in the anime as she was in the manga-only to reveal herself as a manipulative predator plan and simple. She wasn't going to be satisfied until she had Makoto in some way, shape, or form while still being a wolf in sheep's clothing. While no one character in the anime is a saint, Makoto and Katsura were the real victims. Just when it seems they will finally be together, their best friend decides to destroy the bond between them when she was the one who helped hook them up, even when she put on an air of guilt and resistance while using Makoto's intimate indecision to her advantage.
Katsura I generally liked being a shy bookworm myself, yet I felt bad how much unfair criticism she took and that she really did not fight more for the love she had for Makoto earlier when it would have made a difference and in the tragic end had to cross a major red line.
Regardless of him falling into the same category most Harem MC's are written, Makoto Itou is not arrogantly proud of his faults and weakness yet should have known when to break off the fling with Sekai and Otomoe, not to mention have an orgy with their mutual classmates. In my honest opinion, I prefer his depiction in the manga, OVAs and Good Endings from the VN to this version. I do not condone cheating in the slightest, yet despite being dense, awkward and foolish he was not that reprehensible. Would have been better if he had been written not as a blind novice who was unable to see the warning signs in front of him only to pay a terrible price for not acting with conviction and confidence sooner on his feelings for Katsura.
I was glad in the end that Sekai got what she deserved for manipulating her friends and largely sowing the seeds leading to a tragic conclusion. While I like tragedy to an extent, still thought it could have taken another turn.
Moral of the story: Stay faithful and be true to your feelings and never take advantage of others.
While I am aware there are better High School Romance anime apart from this one, School Days brings the harsh reality of romance out in a way that exposes the beauty, darkness, strength and failings of the human spirit. This is why I both like and dislike the anime. Part of me kind of wants a reboot yet I know it's unlikely to happen, as it could have ended altogether differently. In that regard I would suggest watching Good Endings of the VN (if that's your preference). Certainly is not for the faint of heart, watch at your own risk.
Whether you can relate to the characters or not, it's worth a watch to be aware of relationships that are coercing and toxic, when not to cross dangerous boundaries and overall to be true on how you really feel for someone without hurting others closest to you. Love, even when you are young, can lead people to do things they are reluctant to, have regrets over or hesitant to embrace yet they should not be done at the cost of self-respect and the esteem of others.

Smart, pulse-pounding and beautifully exciting and tragic series. "Death Note" is that enveloping mind-bending anime that excels viscerally and intellectually while telling a classic and contemporary tale illustrating the battle to attain divine power, the consequences in seeking it and how despite ones cleverness and ambition can be their own downfall as a result of their own hubris. The balance between the supernatural and real worlds was well done along with the rules in using the Death Note, which beings in neither are ever truly able to avoid and cheat.
Say what you will but I love and admire lead protagonist/anti-hero Light Yagami. I also

identified a good deal with him being something of a of a snake. Something of a Scorpio and a Gemini at the same time. We're both crafty bastards with sharp wits. Also like Light, I tend to be charismatic and intrigue people even when I do not go out of my way to do so. Part of me wished Light triumphed in the end, yet I was not too surprised by the ending despite being heartbroken by it to an extent.
Gritty, mind-blowingly encompassing and striking-this is a must-watch for every anime lover. This psychological mystery drama has such a hold on you from the moment you watch it and its impact remains with you after it ends. At its core it leaves viewers with the question: What would you do when the power to control death comes into your possession? Would you be a Saint or a Sinner? A righteous bringer of justice or an overly powered villain reaching too high only to fall?
