Breathtaking, movingly written, and sweeping reimagining of the epic story. As a fan of the original series, I was very intrigued to see this along with the new characters, plot lines, and other elements included in this version. While the CGI anime style differs from the traditional 2D in the first series, it is nevertheless visually enveloping and awesome to immerse yourself in. The well-rounded complexities of every character was richly conveyed and touched me just as deeply as in the first anime adaptation, albeit on a deeper level. Though not as comical as the former, it has a lot of heart and feels to it.

The storyline overall is riveting and suspenseful, even with the backstories of central characters (i.e. Vash and Wolfwood) really move and humble the heart, endearing you to them even deeper. Kudos to the writers for not losing the gripping resonance of "Trigun." It will capture you mind and soul and have you observe the pains and trials of reality in a different light. So much so that we can understand and aspire to what Vash himself gives his life to make possible for others, not matter what sets them apart. While there are some parts of it that shocked me which I wished were different, they did not take away from the key themes of the story.

Fans both longtime and new will certainly have their own opinions when they see this fresh and astounding re-telling, yet I hope it impress them as it did me. It certainly has motivated me to read the manga now more than ever. Above all I think people who watch "Trigun" will be able to see how it relates to current times in the real world fraught with prejudice and uncertainty, yet the story illustrates how destructive hatred can be and how following the example of Vash and his comrades can pave the way for a far better world for all.

Really psyched to hear there will be a second season and I am highly anticipating it!
