The first anime I've ever watched were Akira, Ninja Scroll, and The Overfiend. I watched these at a young age and I've always enjoyed watching stuff that had adult themes. Then later on, after I had forgotten all about anime. I had seen Yu Yu Hakusho on Toonami and I instantly fell in love with the characters. Since Toonami aired anime at different slots I always missed integral parts of the story. So I never got to watch the whole thing. I'd watch stuff like DBZ, Speed Racer, and G-Force and although I knew the animation was different I never realized these series came from a different country. I always just saw them as cartoons.
Fast forward to Funimation releasing the four seasons of Yu Yu; when I found out about this I became excited. I had long since forgotten about anime. So it was cool because now I had a job and I could afford to see all the anime I had forgotten about in all it's glory. I think my nephew bought the first season then I bought the first season and we just kept going back to Best Buy till we got the full series. The rest is history, now my power level is close to 200 series and it has become a fun pastime.
I know this was supposed to be about me but I figured I'd give some background as to how I became such an avid lover of anime.
