Hello! I'm just a simple guy who never liked anime...until I was 27 years old and by some strange reasons decided to read a visual novel. I quickly became addicted to them. A year passed since then, good novels leaded me to good anime series and...now I'm here)
(written on Mar 20, 2016)
My ratings system is simple and fair:
Every genre, setting and type of anime is rated differently. Isekai is isekai, no need to compare it with dark or philosophical series. Good comedy show doesn't need to have deep characters or complex plot, it just have to be funny. I can easily give a full 10 for silly show as well as for some dark series, as long as they fulfill requirements for those genres, have no(or very few) flaws and are entertaining.
VN, LN and manga adaptations have to be accurate, but as long as I rarely read the original source I will mostly rate them as is.
Famous, highly rated and praised shows with complicated plot, setting, characters etc. will be judged more strictly, I don't like when serious anime does stupid things. On the other hand some light-hearted, underrated shows which have low rating just because they're not famous, dark or complicated will be judged lightly. Everything should have a chance.
Even though my ratings are subjective I'm trying to be objective and even if I don't like the show--it's extremely rare for me to rate something 5 or lower. I don't like when people rate famous and actually good anime 1 only because it's not their style or whatever.
Full-fledged stories rated differently from those separated in seasons. I'm less strict when rating a season.
Worthy ending that fits the story greatly affects final rating.
I never rate anything before I finish it or encounter such boredom and/or disappointment that I have to drop it.
I may correct my scores from time to time while I get more experienced.
Check my Anime List to see the short comments for EVERY anime I've completed or dropped! Older ones are kinda simple and short, though. Keep in mind I'm no critic and not even trying to be one, so those are just my honest subjective thoughts.
Feel free to add me, since it's easier to pick good anime by looking at friends stats!) I always in search for new awesome shows, make sure to suggest those) I'm very versatile person, so any recommendation matters, just avoid shows for kids and girls for obvious reasons)
I read a bit of manga, but mostly I prefer to read complex and highly acclaimed visual novels like Steins;Gate, Ever17, Fate/Stay Night, etc. You can check my VNDB list, the link is placed under my friends list. Sadly, I don't have nearly enough time to read them nowadays.

Well, yes, if Monster has a flaw, it's that it can't be watched ''binge'' (since they adapted the whole manga, they are forced to make it slow - in the previous decade studios preferred to not make a long series into multiple seasons, like what they doing with AoT nowadays) - I have it on-hold myself, xd!
Now, being ''illogical'' is a common flaw in the mystery genre (since Japanese authors doesn't seem to care much about realism in mystery), so I'm usually don't complain much about it! The only times I complained was with the notorious Erased - that it has at least, a hundred plot holes (and I really hate it when people call it a ''masterpiece'') and with the anime version of The Promised Neverland (that is so rushed that it lefts many thing unexplained to those that they didn't read the manga beforehand)!!! So, if I have to compare Monster with those two overrated ''mystery'' series, I believe that Monster is WAY MORE BETTER!
But truth to be told, Monster isn't the author's masterpiece! What is commonly considered his masterpiece is his other mystery manga, the even more unique ''20th Century Boys'', that I really want to read it soon! It is really a pity that despite being made into a live action film, it will never become an anime, just because with the current standards, it seems impossible to find a tv audience!
Hi! I'm sure that you are gonna enjoy JoJo's Bizzare Adventure! The Phantom Blood arc that you are now, may really be the weaker (since the author back then was still just started to develop the series world), but Battle Tendency latter, and the epic Starland Crusaders arc in the next two seasons, are really going to make you addicted to it, heh!
Monster is also probably the best seinen/mystery/thriller manga/anime!!!
Thanks alot :D
Sorry for the late response, nice comments on your completed anime, gives a second point of view =)
Would do it myself if i were not so lazy... might be something i would do in the future.
eh check out the first episode. Animation is good and all (except that wfull insta filter they put over it) but the story and characters are too unbearable to me. You should definitely check out A Place Further Than The Universe, After the Rain and Yuru Camp. Fantastic so far.
