Oh yeah, I just realized that lol. Well, as I said, the response will be hella late.
Utena is definitellly one of the best series I've ever encountered. It uses symbolism in such agressive, yet very meaningful way, but also keeps it all connected to the main theme. I like how every character had a precious memory from their past that they wanted to make eternal, which is what was keeping them from growing up due to the neverending cycle. The show keeps bombarding you with interconnected symbolism that makes more sense the more you are aware of those connections. But still, the show never goes too far into surreal, so you can always keep track of what's real and what's surrealism. And what's DEFINITELY worth noting is the plot twist in episode 34, the Tale of the Rose. I was stunned by how masterfully that one was pulled off. It used the exact same script we got at the beginning, yet it carried a totally different meaning, and was rather emotional. It's definitelly a show I have a lot to say about, and will if you are in a mood for further discussions. Also the fact that I've recently done a full analysis on the Cycle of Utena.

Ah, Kyousougiga... I think I can't honestly express how much I love everything that show did. It didn't waste a single damn second, and it used every single frame right to say what it wants. Hell, it used inking as a way of exploring its themes, where else do you have that? It's symbolism was very rich, but very easy to notice and understand, and even accented it by adding intertextuality, example being Alice in Wonderland. It simply wanted to show how, in the novel the Wonderland (and everything in it) was constantly changing, the looking-glass city remained the same. This is a VERY important key to understanding Kyousou's characters. There are actually two reasons behind that. First one is because the three children are afraid of changes; they never learned how to deal with them, and the only change they ever witnessed was their parents abandoning them. The other reason being that it doesn't change because... well, it's the only thing that still reminds them of their parents. All three of them are still children, and they never got the chance to actually grow up right.
It's definitely something you appreciate more the deeper you dig. Analysing it was almost as interesting as watching it lmao

And about my name, I'd prefer people sticking to Onion, mostly because my name is pretty uncommon for anything outside of the slavic regions, so it's somewhat hard to pronounce. It's Mihajlo, but to avoid the misspronounciation problems you can call me Michael if you wish. But Onion is perfectly fine.

Also, hope you don't mind me answering here, it's just that phone limits my text length on private messages :/
