You’re objectively correct, I could campaign and find or forge alternate avenues, but that would require ingenuity, resourcefulness, and tech savviness which I simply do not possess. Personally, I find it much more constructive to have them make a public show of raping me every however many months until enough people take enough pity in me and my plight to campaign themselves and force the MAL administration to change themselves. I appreciate your thoughtfulness, though. <3

Jolyne in these 12 episodes barely has any characterization except for being the daughter of Jotaro and having similar traits to him, so introducing her with a masturbation joke makes things even worse, and you are right, I should've added this and connected the dots. Although I wanted to write a short review, this shouldn't have happened, my bad

Wow found your profile by chance and noticed how similar we are in stats! 123 days of anime watched, essentially the same mean anime score, watches a lot of seasonals, and probably more who knows lmao.

your comment: "Please don't ruin Tatoeba Last Dungeon Mae no Mura no Shounen ga Joban no Machi de Kurasu Youna Monogatari. Tatoeba Last Dungeon Mae no Mura no Shounen ga Joban no Machi de Kurasu Youna Monogatari is like my favorite thing ever!" really made me think.

Yeah, Akudama Drive is really fun. Not sure exactly what I was expecting, but it’s really nice looking and weird. Very Danganronpa

Elaina is a lot better than I was expecting. I don’t even know why I decided to watch it, but I’m glad I did. I don’t watch many fantasy shows like that one. I wasn’t expecting episode 3 to go dark like that, it’s like that one episode of Somali and the Forest Spirit all over again. Like holy shit, those flowers

What can I say, I’m a sucker for repetitive wholesome romance stuff. Like Takagi san

It’s extremely weird to be watching Higurashi again, since it was my second anime ever. I’m kinda disappointed Higurashi Gou wasn’t a remake... having a remake with better animation would get more people into the series. It’s always a shame to see people saying they won’t watch the original because it looks ugly.

Although, getting more people into Higurashi would kinda destroy that “cult classic” bit of it, I wouldn’t want the series to become super popular.

So I’m glad it isn’t a full on remake. Now people who’ve seen the anime or read the visual novel can experience a new story and can actually stay entertained. Seeing a better adaptation of the VN would be nice and all, but it’s not as fun watching something if you know how it’s going to play out.

Season’s been pretty decent... Tonikaku Kawaii is ridiculously cute. What do you think of the new Higurashi?

Haha believe it or not I used to just call the series a: “Meme machine”, but after rewatching the entire anime franchise and getting up to date on the manga I really underestimated it and its storytelling, don’t get me wrong, it’s still endlessly eccentric but can craft and create some extremely memorable stories in its genre. Just took a while to grow on me you could say. <3

That makes a great deal of sense now that I think about it, Diamond is Unbreakable thematically was always the most confusing in many respects - I sort of think of Jojo’s as “tryptic”, in many respects, it runs like a trilogy. Parts 1-3 revolve around Dio’s legacy and the stone mask as well, parts 4-6 center around the Stand Arrows, to what I thought Diamond is Unbreakable was basically the overture of, and parts 7-8 (9?) seem to focus around the rebooted universe. I was attracted to the appeal of Diamond at the start due to not having villains that, you know, want to take over the world etc etc, but I did grow to appreciate its somewhat non-linear storytelling, until Kira is introduced though, then it becomes more of a cat and mouse, nearly Monster-style-tale. I think that’s a very fair stance to have and I haven’t heard that opinion of it. Thanks a lot for yours, I may have to give it yet another run haha.
Well, I think we can all agree it’s the prettiest of the Jojo’s, animated wise too. I want to love part 5 for that but it’s so bright it can almost hurt my eyes….

My favorite part, believe it or not, is tied in between Part 1 and Part 7. Why part 1? Well, for two reasons; I love Jonothan. To this day he’s my favorite Joestar, with Joseph and Giorno falling behind them. Criticized for being simple, true, but I think there’s a thematic to him many fail to, well, not see but appreciate - Araki in my eyes proved the potential as an author the very few pages he introduced Jonothan, it literally tells you everything about him in less than 6 pages with less than 10 lines of dialogue. He defends Erina from the bully’s bullying, knowing full well he wont win, but takes the beating anyway and says that; “I will win won day.” This isn’t him wishing; he knows he has the ambition, he knows he’s smart enough, he knows his ideals already, but not yet the strength to beat them. And even under constant torture of DIO for years, abandoned by, in some sense, his own father, not having a mother, not having his dog, who was his best friend, and it’s clearly shown Jonothan in his youth is estranged from the other boys his age - he doesn’t break like Dio did, he doesn’t become a monster - he becomes stronger for it which is why by the end of it, Dio is the ONLY person that he will not tolerated being made fun of by someone else. Jonothan is basically Hercules (which I think the dub even acknowledges one time) and a Shakespearian character combined, to add onto this there is an aspect of “nobility’ about him that the narrative rewards, it rewards Jonothan for his heroism but it only reaches a certain point, then eventually punishes him because he was just too chivalrous and loyal to principles.
But that’s just for Jonothan, now for why I love Phantom Blood so much; the story unlike many other Jojo’s is constantly moving, constantly focused, and while it doesn’t throw a curveball in turn for this, it doesn’t stop itself dead in its tracks at points like successors such as Stardust, Stone Ocean, and even Steel Ball Run at times does, plus, I enjoyed the more intimate nature of the fights without the stands which, while I praise as a concept, have tired me out at this point tbh hahaha.

For Steel Ball Run? Well, it’s literally a retelling of Phantom Blood in many respects with far darker tinges; so almost everything I said, just apply it there lol.
I hope you pick it up again but don’t blame you, part 6 is NOTORIOUS for having the quality drop off of Jojo’s and it is the least-selling in Japan, the story gets too confusing even for this series and Araraki clearly wanted to start right on to part 7 for a soft reboot of the series.

Also, that’s an adorable shot of Shinobu hahaha, I swear how do some people find these frames at just the right moment.

Do you have a favorite Jojo’s villain? Dio will always be my favorite. ^^

Hey there! I see a fellow Jojo's fan, and any fan of Jojo's is a friend of mine! <3
I see Diamond is Unbreakable is your favorite part, I must admit it's... not of particular favor for me. ;-; I find that before Kira is introduced, while it is good at setting an overarching mystery and the introduction of the stand arrows is marvelous, it feels more akin to Stardust Crusaders in the notion of some fights just feeling,... pointless? To such a point that I almost wonder if Kira, not even one of my favorites in terms of villains for Jojo, nearly saved Diamond is Unbreakable single-handledly. What's your take?

Also, I'll admit... I've roleplayed playing Megumin in Dark Souls 3 way too many times hahaha.

Yeah, I know what you mean. He made a bunch of great characters and still shows up occasionally with these random characters. That second when you hear his voice is the best haha

Also, I happen to notice that you read Ijiranaide, Nagatoro-san, so I'm hoping that you'll appreciate this.
