No harm betting on a sure thing.

It felt like a joke that I even bothered. It's just annoying when people who don't know a damn thing about martial arts, pretend that they do. People who are ignorant of exactly what the term means always associate it with the practices of the Far East.

The term "combat sport" is used to describe it because it is based on the principle of fighting an opponent, yet under certain conditions and rules which make it a sport. The word "martial" itself means "of or for warlike purposes." Any kind of physical fighting style or form can fit this description. Boxing has been used as an effective form of self-defense by many military organizations, most notably the Brits, because of it's effectiveness. Anyway the guy had no argument, so it just got to a point where I felt like I was wasting my time. Dankickyou got in on it with me too, but I think all we did was educate some people rather than crush the guy's troll spirit.

What was sad is that I don't even box and I know this (a little desire for knowledge goes a long way.) I do have a military background, but that wasn't part of my curriculum. Basic grapples and self-defense techniques were taught, but the Army does things a bit differently than the Marines. Besides, the goal in the end was to kill the other guy any way you can before he could kill you, not shake his hand when it was over, lol.

Hm, sounds legit. Lady luck is rarely on my side though, so you'll seldom catch me putting money on anything, even if the odds are in my favor. Like watching the Redskins lose to a 1-8 Tampa that's already ranked 30th in the league, I could have bet on either of them to win and I'd still lose.

Well you more or less went dark around the beginning of summer and I just happened to see you pop into the high/low sensitivity thread, so I figured I'd drop a line.

Only time we ever really spoke was in that thread about Floyd vs Pacman, so I'm not surprised. Truthfully, it would have been nice to have you around after that when I had to spend 2 pages of a thread explaining to some fool why boxing is, was and always will be a "martial art." Because obviously, if there's no yelling or roundhouse kicks by people in pajamas, it's not a martial art.

Shit, I spend most of my time giving that to other people. You getting paid for fights?

I'm starting to read the OreImo light novels I'm only 1 volume in, cause I saw the anime a few months ago and I was thinking I gotta rewatch it cause it's in my top 10 anime of all time (second season). And I thought might as well read the LN before then so I get the whole experience (the LN is damn awesome better than the anime I think so far aha!).

And yeah I just remembered about all the idiots who rage on the ending of season 2 and say "ew incest" or "I liked Kuroneko ahh wtf is with that ending I don't get it so he didn't end up with anyone in the end or..? pfft who cares I need my pairing who did he end up with uhh....." then rate season 2 specials a 3/10 and move onto the next overhyped anime and watch it like a complete moron with no thought involved. Pisses me off so much -.-

And brings me to my next point - I saw your full explanation in the thread you did a while back (I put a reply on it too like ages ago). And I wanted to congratulate you now. It's nice to know that someone can be mature about incest-romance handled in a realistic way, right up to the (almost perfect - I know about the kiss issue so I'm looking forward to that in the LN and disappointed they couldn't add that in the anime but I guess censoring or whatever -.-) ending :)
