honestly, the manga is probably the more enjoyable medium, but I liked the anime because I could see what was happening better, the art in the manga makes it almost impossible to understand the difference between certain pitches and when something is a strike or the ball was hit by the batter. You'll have to rely on the reactions of the characters. Not to mention, I think the DNA anime has one of the best OSTs ever so you'll be missing out on that if you read the manga.

But I suppose that is not the fault of the mangaka but rather the limitations of drawing manga. I would say, check the anime out but the manga is naturally more fast-paced and the hype is still very much evident. I'm still holding out for a DNA season 4 tho. That would be epic.
