I tried my hand at editing the shows short synopsis/editorial describing what this shows about.
And it goes like this (hopefully MAL acepts and uses the edit):
"Two high school girls have taken it upon themselves to scold and chastise the delinquents in their school. But when the delinquents turn their attentions upon the them, the two girls realize they bit off more than they can chew. Can they be saved? Its a race against the clock to save them."
Did you find the pun in that synopsis? IT will all make sense eventually lol
Technically theres a slight spoiler ahead, so....SPOILER
...
WARNING :P
Now despite the stereotypical forced sex scenes, since this is an older show from 15 years ago , it tries to lesson the "blows" at times with good old fashioned exaggerated humor , and it does work, though we still are not fully distracted from whatever the overall plot is throwing our way.
Regardless, the show has only the slightest semblances of the way older anime from the mid to late 1990s seemed to my eyes, but this H Show was better polished, at least a bit.
Surprisingly it id just enough to make sense in only 2 episodes, and there was even a bit of actual romance, heroism, and soft, fuzzy feeling during the scenes of levity and happiness. There was in fact an actual plot, however minimal and fleeting it was. And closure, that made it all the better in the end.
If not for the negative subject matter in question at the root of this show, and if it all was slightly better animated (but only just slightly better, because the characters looked decent), and if it had been a bit longer and maybe had a sequel OVA to literally CAP things off, this would have gotten a higher rating.
Dont be fooled though, despite my giving this show a 6.5/10, it was not too shabby, even for a hentai.

Growing up in the mid 80s, things really took a turn for the better by 1990; in terms of both look and story, anime was entering is high age. Sure there were gems in every decade going back to the 1940s, but every now and then we get a prime example in various entertainment mediums how not to fall short of greatness. Yu-NO is one of the BESt examples of the worst way to try and make a hentai. HOw doth one fail at this?! lol
I have conflicted thoughs on how to score this, as the look was fairly good, even though dated, when compared
...
to the chibbyish or overly cartoon style of many shows and hentai from that point even to the current year. But whatever other shows lack, they at least get to the nitty gritty and very pretty when it comes to hentai when all else is said and done.
Yu-No is barely "hentai", only scratching the surface of that most naughty and extreme genre definition for japanese animation. Based on a visual novel game where there is fer sure breasts and beautiful women, its little more than a good representation of a young mans dreams of adventure and budding sexual desire that cant quite bring everything into view, die to lack of experience or imagination. Like those old fuzzy channels that were kind on for a free weekend, where you could make out boobs or real sex, but just barely. Theres even a half of the main characters junk sticking out while getting with a chick, but...I just laughed at the pointlessness of it.
It actually had a very great look to it however, being a almost perfect representation of the heights that many studios in their art skill could aspire to. NOt the best looking, but I could not draw better. Also there is decent sound, music, background effects, and at least something of a story that was passable if you dont mind wasting time tbh. There are naked women with breasts bared left and right, and even female genitalias having fingers quasi inserted into them, but the lack of further detail and examination, just jumping from one thing to another, really makes me wonder why something so disappointing would come out near the end of a decade that already had well defined strictures, or even expectations for a genre such as hentai.
Where once movies that went beyond R rating in America but were still mostly soft core enough, careful not to show or overdo things, ended up with the now rarely seen NC 17 ( or due to gore) there was of course the legendary XXX rating for the "real deal". Aside from the fact that pornography has been around almost as long as humanity, as noted from some cave paintings of buxom women, fertility idols and deities down through the millennia, and naughty artwork and early sex mags from a few centuries ago, people know when something gets to that level in a satisfactory way. And when it sure falls short of that wondrous realm of hawtness. lol IF the show had decided on a bit less breasts and occasional genitalia, and put more effort into a story, it would have been really goof. IT owuld not matter if it split from the original material. OR if this went full on HENTAI, which is what people want tbh, it would have also been good. BUt it kinda stagnates with a bit too much tryhard fantasy story and almost pitiful about of hentai elements. I am sure the new anime show is far better, but compared to how mediochre this average show was, thats not saying much.
Jumping from realit to reality, which really isnt a spoiler alert as its a 22 year old "hentai" of a well known visual novel game of the same theme, it all ends in a kinda okay harem ish way, but is also still not worthy of being called a true hentai. Its a BENT-AI (literally bent love, as it doesnt inspire or show any in the truest sense :P)
I would give this a 4.5 , but because of a lingering appreciation of the aesthetics and sound quality to the show as a whole, I will slap a filthy 5/10 onto this. Better than many softcores I saw growing up, but we had real hentai almost 20 years before this came out lol. Stick with something else from that era like the first two La Blue Girl shows for a decent idea of what 1990s hentai could aspire to.
Dont waste your time with Yu-No unless like myself, thou art an otaku supreme baka in need of a couple hundred notches of more shows on your viwing belt. SO MUCH POTENTIAL WASTED!

This is not hentai (RX). This is very vanilla, showing mainly breasts, and some light humping/ strandling, even just over panties. But no close ups, nothing truly explicit or actually more adult than a very softcore film.
So if you were expecting something like actual Hentai, this might not be for you.
As for me, however, this was a bit of a treat as I angage in watching older and older anime shows.
What we have here is a female lead, named Sara, that went through a traumatic experience in her youth, and seeks to aid others with their mental traumas. Seemingly hired by anonymous benefactors, likely the
...
family of those in need of aid, Sara and her male assistant, Tamine, are always off on an adventure of veritable good will.
BUt how does she cure people, you ask? By hypnotizing them with her large E( or f) cup breasts, like a Brazilian Carnivale dancer.
SHes dives into the minds of people this way, having learned the technique from her master, a fairly pervy old man in masters clothing, whom taught her the way and healed her years before.
IT always gets off to a normal start, but ends up getting too sexual. But in a Freudian way, thats the whole point; trying to relate that so many problems and hangups people have are supposedly sexual in nature, traumatic or otherwise.
The look of the show was very reminiscent of the transitional period from the late 1980s through the 1990s, when most anime either looked good, or didnt. This show didnt look terribly good, but its a fine line.
Still hilarious scenes that broke thetension, using now very classic and oft cliched gags, such as Sara Hitting her assistant, Tamine, whom could never catch a break with his gorgeous boss lady, even when her breasts land in his face, help to make for a more enjoyable show. Without which, this non hentai would likely be rated lower.
Overall this is a passing 6/10 all around, and I only wish it was longer, better drawn, and actually had a proper conclusion with the two main characters getting together. Hentai or not, it was a decent enough 2 episode ova from the mid 90's. lol

Having accidentally seen the 1931 version, I finally came upon the real, 1918 version, and as a fan of very antiquated things, I loved it!
Though from the silent era, when animation was less about even using cell, which had not really come around yet even in america, and simply about what seemingly amounted to motion capturing different pictures- frame, after frame, after frame.
BUt growing up with claymation shows as a child, I dont hate this.
ON my quest to see much anime, I of course could not pass up any of the oldest still available to watch, and I encourage others to not pass up the
...
opportunity to watch this near ancient piece.
Though lacking in aesthetics, it was funny to see the way the animators created the illusions of aquatic life underneath our fisherman protagonist, as well as the scenes underneath the sea itself.
Oddly enough, the whole backdrop was red colored, either due to the fragility and damage over time done to the original stills or thats just how twas back than. NANDA TO?! O>o
Supposedly filmed and/ or hand drawn by people at a japanese company listed at the films end, called Y.N .& Co., there is a picute of a young gal point to japanese words that, maybe, say "thanks for watching" but I could not tell. Also there is a backwards 87, likely the number of frames of single pictures that made up this historic gem. I though it was funny to see the protagonist end up old, like he had spent too much time or all his life nearly underwater be the films end, which made me chuckle at how much old things remind us that people have always been people, now and forevermore. Give it a watch at :

So just to let people know, as this is a recap, this review shall be short but not sweet. OPINIONS FOLLOW!
What we have here is an interesting way to recap one whole season and almost half of another. Whereas usually recaps follow right after a shows season ends, like it states on the show page; the first is but a recap of the initial 9 episodes of the 2nd season, and the 2nd recap retells the events of the first season that aired almost 10 years prior. Albeit considering the gap of time between seasons, it is still odd how the recaps are ordered.
So as
...
for my summary:
I am a type of guy whom enjoys recaps simply because they will summarize a show to the point that I will or will not watch based on my feelings afterwards, as IM sure Most ANYONE WOULD lol. The feeling I got from these recaps was of a somewhat interesting show that, like the countries that just hover around and aimlessly shoot at each other in it, leads nowhere. Hence this review to try and steer people away. HOWEVER I urge those of you whom still doubt or have a genuine interest in the genre of skyship or steam punk to engage in the viewing of these recaps and make the judgment for yourselves.
I for one give this an overall 6 as it would not waste my time as much as the whole series, which would therefore be a 5/10 lol.
In conlusion:
Watch the 2nd recap if you have not seen the 1st show or at least not seen season 1 in a long time, then watch the episode about the most recent season. You will either like it and choose to watch the whole/one part of the series because its a steam punk mix of Fractale+Eureka Seven, or you wont. Over and out.

NOt an over the top hentai, but still a good one to watch as it was so short.
I can sympathize with the male lead, sex can be draining after a long while. NOw then:
Basically most people whom seek relationships look for a person with similar interests so that there isnt just air in the conversations. Without giving too much away all I shall reveal is that this show was about a kinda nerdy otaku girl, a male with similar interest and a childhood friend along for...the ride lol =p Decently portrayed what I truly belive is the fantasy of most people, whther otaku,
...
or extrme sports seekers or art enthusisats; once you find some1 you can viibe with ( lol) you can get to jamming ( LOL) . SO many terrible puns. BUT a good hentai fer sure lol.

HEres the nitty gritty:
In a nutshell what we have here is a classic case of ecchi /harem risque shots of very sexual fanservice in exchange for emasculated, constantly disappointing male characters. Though this seems to be the norm in anime, its tiresome and got old long ago.
That being said, there is IN FACT a plot of some merit to this show which , believe it or not allows for moderate enjoyment aside from the panty/ P***y outline shots and bare breasts ( yes there is an uncensored version, DOOOY) .
If you wanna add another anime notch to thine belt pick this
...
show up for some great tits on some attractive girls, some funny moments both fanservice and not and the fact that this will continue into a new season later this year in 2014 ( so some1 must have thought it good enough). IF you do miss out on this one though, no worries, just pick up an actual hentai and you will be A-OK. Ja

I have noticed far too many drawn out reviews of this show I just finished, and though I am just about to watch the special and ova, I am reminded of my quest to never see such a time wasting anime again (true 7 or better).
Anyways to cut to the chase this show could be seen as an allegory to government and political intrigue in the real world (but most could sadly only equate that idea to James bond instead of the factual, shady organisations those spy dramas are loosely based upon). The show tries to masquerade most of the time as a late high
...
school romance/harem and just gets in over its own head, not really achieving much. Many situations in this show that were meant to be serious were more comical than the actual humorous moments peppered about.
Really its just a sloppy harem/ mystery that seems like it was written by a soft core novelist, but just D**k teases people ( whether they are straight, or gay or what have you), not only with the romance at slight sexual tension, but teases those with a lust for a decent plot. There have been plenty of short anime shows out there that have done much better. But c'est la vie.
Avoid if possible, its just not worth it.

I encourage more people to find this as it is a part of anime history. Truly a monumental achievement back in the eighties, to put the ideas of Clarke and Asimov to paper and shoot cell after cell was pretty kool! lol
We have the basis for most high tech, futuristic genres in this anime. Space exploration for the purpose of repopulating in a cleaner, longer lasting sense via terraforming other worlds. Sound familiar? You bet your cheeks tis'! With this movie you have the idea and what it might seem like to pitch long term space sleep and travel to prospective colonizers
...
as well as , to put it bluntly, fruits of the seeding of life labor upon a new world.
The animation was straight outta the eighties which though some may not like; with the rampant need for over ecchi, chibi as can be nonsense these days, it was not bad. It looked like regular people and so it was all drawn as such. I too like larger eyes on my anime characters, but not as large as the overly extreme type many animes can portray.
The music was also straight outta the 1980s, with the ending theme being evocative of some awsome action and intrigue, sultry packed gripping film. HUZZAH!!! Jazz n dance to this ending I says! =p
To summarize:
This Good!
If you are at least 25 ( 20-ish works too) years old, you will probably appreciate this even if its just for that feeling of nostalgia. If you are younger, watch anyways and add another anime notch to that needlessly thin MAL belt. To infinity, and b....whoops, dont sue! T.T

I initially liked this show because it had a brutally honest male lead that was also a loner despite the fact that he was intelligent. *Sighs* Its called a rom com, but honestly I have seen way better shows than this that did not just finish so open ended or BLEH that I wanted my time back. Really some parts were ok, but the absurdity weighed heavier.
There was massive potential for growth and REAL closure concerning the unique personalities of the main characters and how they interacted, yet t'would nae be so. This show could have stood to be longer to finish things
...
up, perhaps a 2nd season is in store, who knows?
Basically:
Loner guy who has good points about things seems negative for his honesty and insight and is relegated to a position he had at the show start. The rest of the characters in the long run remained absolutely indifferent to the social issues that trickle down to school age youth in our society. Perhaps it is the fault of our experiences in school, or it is in fact the world that makes life so, but to me, I just wanted a less pathetic male character in a highly enjoyable rom com again. C'est la vie
