I hate it when people write reviews that start with "I don't normally write reviews but..." and then leads into "I had to write this because it was just that bad." I mean SERIOUSLY, its like telling me the paint is wet, you know I'm going to touch it to find out
Most recent comment on the series page for Mahou Sensou
"Before watching this, be warned. This anime is for masochists! It's like watching NTR porn without the porn stuff. It's just painful to watch."
Important Note:
If you are here for whatever reason feel free to drop a recommendation for something to watch in the comments section, provided it is entertaining (excluding the "it is so bad it is actually funny to watch" kind of entertaining) I really don't care what category it comes from, I will watch just about anything.
I feel that you should all know something about this website. your PTW LIST IS A LIE. I can't be the only one that finished a series and then feels like I have nothing to watch even with >50 reasonable anime in that list... It is like putting it in there means I cant watch it...
General Info
Not the most interesting guy, but hey, talk to me anyway... Procrastinating about my work is always more fun with friends.
I also like to play games, mostly CSGO followed by league of legends. And I'm not gonna lie, I'm pretty pro :P
The reason I don't do reviews is not because I'm lazy and not because I don't like to rip certain titles to absolute shreds but simply because I am one of those people who just get consumed in mindless entertainment, trust me it is painful, I can watch crap knowing it is crap and still not be able to stop myself.....
This random dude who I found on the internet wrote a review and his scores are like this:
Story: Dreadful 3.
Art: Very Good 8.
Sound: Poor 3.
Character: Fair 6.
Enjoyment: Good 7.
Overall: Dreadful 2.
Now between me and whoever is reading that, I'm pretty sure that your overall score shouldn't be the lowest out of all the categories?
Anime Intro Song of the Month or Week not Sure YetVery well done to win this prestigious award 5 months in a row and definitely has nothing to do with the fact that I'm to lazy to change it (Just songs from anime intros that I think sound cool)(This month I couldn't pick between the opening for the first or second series, so why not both?)
Re-Watched!
Just about everything on my list, I have just been binge watching old stuff since december

yikes, some poor fella is probably gonna judge you harshly LOL
but anyways, i really do appreciate your kind words. yes, i make sure to take every precaution i can. i did mention hand sanitizer, avoiding others, working from home, but i do really try to reduce the number of trips i make by bus or into the office. i've also tried "streamlining" trips, i.e., have one person buy all of the groceries in the household so that fewer people have to go outside. for now i just have to keep doing what i'm doing, i don't see this letting up any time soon. make sure you're taking care of yourself too.
hey, nothing wrong with that. i know some people on here like to change their pictures like once a week, but i have no idea how they find the time or effort to do something like that LOL
Yep, still alive. I actually got tested the other day (required by my workplace), and I'm negative for now, thank god. It's definitely worrying here, but I'm taking it pretty seriously, and most people I know are too. (At least we're not Florida lmao.) Will stay safe - still mostly working from home. There are some times where I have to go into the office by public transit but I've been using so much hand sanitizer and avoiding others. It's worked so far so fingers crossed.
Awh thanks! I actually have used this one in the past before. But the one I previously used was like in place for two years so I was like welp guess it's time lmao
oops, sorry, my bad :x oh, definitely heard about those. i've seen on facebook online meetings or conferences getting bombed by random outside people (zoom bombing, i think it's called) or employees wearing work clothes for their top half but underwear for their bottom half.... i mean i can go on and on but i'll leave it to your imagination. ah, so there's at least two of us, haha.
yeah I definitely agree with you, that's exactly how i felt too. i think the thing i miss the most about uni is running into friends throughout the day or hanging out with them in between classes. now that i'm old and working there's really no time for that. i wish that wasn't the case though. and also, a lot of them have moved around and spread out so it's not that easy anymore :/ so while yes a chance of pace is definitely nice, it does make the past memories all the bit more nostalgic.
For lockdown laws, it's not exactly a full quarantine but a lot of activities & workplaces have been restricted in what you can do. so you can still go outside, run around, go hiking... but a lot of workplaces had to shut down or let their workers work from home. (some people still have to go to work because their workplaces are exempt... these are "essential workers" like hospital workers, etc.) a lot of public events have been cancelled from now until the end of summer. you can still travel around to other places, but even if you do, a lot of activities are still prohibited. so for example, if i wanted to go camping or whatever, i can still drive three hours to the mountains, but if i show up there, the campgrounds are all shut down anyways.
funnily enough, i actually prefer being at home. i don't get super distracted at home. i mean when i go to work and sit there, i'm always productive for like a good 20 minutes and then i take a quick 5 minute breather. it's quite the same process at home - although on the plus side now i don't have to sit through traffic trying to commute in.
almost there! honestly though it sounds like overall you've had a fun time at uni. maybe you'll miss the atmosphere? but that's good to hear that work has resumed, honestly any money by this point is appreciated, especially since the future is really murky at this point...
LOL oh my god, don't even worry about it. you've always reconnected over the years, so i have to hand that to you. i mean you've been really busy on your end too. quite a few people let the conversation die, but you make an effort so all the props to you!
Ah, sorry, I should've been clearer. I'm still working, but I'm doing the majority of my work at home now. I still have to go in like 5% of the time because I have special software that I cannot access remotely. Hopefully things are okay with your organization? Are things dire enough where you are in risk of being laid off?
ah can never turn down a good drink eh? just kidding, haha, but still sounds like fun! as for egypt, that's what i always hear from other friends of mine, which is to do a guided tour. and kind of makes sense too. i mean it never hurts going solo but going solo doesn't really help grab the breadth and depth of the culture & history behind a lot of the attractions.
hey don't worry my president isn't do much better anyways LOLL he tried to downplay it initially even though it was obvious that it was going to be a shitstorm. now we're screwed :')
Yep! still here. although work has died down quite a bit. i still have a lot of emergency assignments to take care of, but for the most part is super manageable. most of the people at my workplace got sent home and been told to work from home. we also had a couple of people who got tested positive at work, so i'm sure that played a role in making everyone work from home.
Jesus, lucky you. I'm incredibly jealous. I've always wanted to travel more often, and honestly I probably should since I'm not getting any younger (yikes). Anything in particular that stood out in Bali and Egypt? Don't know much about either area that well, but I'm assuming you did the tourist-y things haha.
Well things have kind of turned upside down because of the whole virus thing. My area is more or less quarantined (pretty loose quarantine honestly) so yeah bit of a bugger honestly
ehh honestly it's decent but its slow pace and rambling storytelling can be a turn-off to people. Don't worry, if you didn't really like it that much, it pretty much stays that way throughout the entire show...
hmm yeah that's a good point. travelling around europe is pretty easy too, since everything is well interconnected. usually i'm the type of person to travel to a single place and then visit all of the surrounding landmarks there (usually within an hour or two of where I plan to stay)
I know. Idk, the beauty of Europe speaks to me, and the fact that there's so much to do all around you (i.e., you don't have to travel very far to have from) is something that I find super appealing. Considering here, where I live (in the states), everything is so spread out and I have to spend a lot of time trying to get from Point A to Point B
