Made in Abyss

The Abyss, a hole of unprecedented depth—one young girl and a robot brave its dangers to find the truth.

The town of Orth is a special one, as it is built around the edges of the massive Abyss, a wonder which has never been fully explored. Those who venture too far down never return, but those brave enough to traverse its territories are known as "Cave Raiders" and are heralded as legends. Within this town lives a young girl called Riko, the child of one of the most famous Cave Raiders of all time who disappeared on an expedition many years ago.

One day, Riko's life changes when she meets a strange robot called Reg, who seems to appear from within the Abyss. Believing this to be a sign from her mother stuck at the bottom of the Abyss, Riko descends into its depths with Reg, ready to confront all the dangers within it.

As of the date that I write this, I finished watching chapter 64, made in abyss... what an excellent manga manga is perhaps, along with berserk and hajime no ippo, the only manga that I follow today but what makes made in abyss so good?

VOLUME 1 (Chapters 1-8) Score: 7

Wow. Okay, that's some unexpected imaginative stuff. I don't know if it's just me, but I'm used to anything I read being a salad of damn clichés, and this is definitely an exception, and strong at that. BONDREWD IS THE GOAT
The main reason I read this manga is for Bondrewd, something about him is just so compelling #relatable. He is probably the scariest antagonist I have ever seen in a manga.

Now I am going to talk about the manga itself,

THE GOOD:

1.Made in Abyss itself has so many great ideas, alot of eldritch abomination shit which we always like and stuff that makes you think, "Man that sucks ass."
2. I like the idea of exploring these levels that just get crazier with really strange shit in each of em.
3. I think the manga had a pretty slow start, but it definitely ... got better when we went into the abyss (obviously), we were doing pretty good had some pretty great moments and we get to BONDREWD. His arc is the pinnacle of the manga, just go ahead and stop once you done with that because it just gets worse and won't ever top it, let's be real.

THE BAD:

1.The main characters Reg and Riko are bland af blah blah blah you already know. I don't hate em but dont care, Nanachi is just ok just a little better than them.
2.Layers 1-4 were kinda just spedrun, I feel like they each needed more time. It was just kinda hard to get a feel for each of them in the manga.
3. This sounds contradictory to what I just said, but the Capital of the Unreturned arc dragged on. It had some really great ideas and it started amazing, but then I think it got too big for its britches. It's hard to explain overall, but it seems like the author had a lot of ideas planned and didn't know how to utilize them. The shit with Nanachi and Belaf felt pointless, and also kind of felt like the author doesn't know what to do with her character anymore. The relationship with Vueko and Pakkoyan was terribly written, in fact you probably don't even remember who the latter is if you read it. Also I'm pretty sure it never mentions how Vueko lives so long, like how is she even alive still, it was said that the village was 150 years old, and how tf did she eat or drink (maybe it was the town protection idk, if you got an answer please tell me). Eventually the arc just felt like the author was just fucking around until it was over. AND THE WAY THE ARC ENDS WAS SUCH AN ASSHOLE MOVE LOL
4. I get Bondrewd withdrawals

THE UGLY:

1.The pedo bait is FUCKING AWFUL, I don't even need to explain that I don't need or have any want to see A CHILD SNIFFING ANOTHER CHILD'S ASS and then saying that it smells like "The sun and steamed potatoes HURDURH" I WANTED TO KMS, WHY!??!?!? What I said wasn't even an outlier, shit like this is always happening. Everyone already knows that saying the author is a freak is an understatement.
2. If the author wants to get sexual BONDREWDS RIGHT THERE, I need my boy shaking that ass in all forms. Need me some of that Bondrewd ass ong gimme the Umbra Hand Shaker dude.

TLDR: le mang good ideas, bad execution. It fell off after Bondrewd arc. ALL 5 POINTS ARE FOR BONDREWD. I would suck all of Bondrewd's papa poles. Get that ass dropped.
