Although I've only read 7 chapters, so far, Jigoku no Enra is super great. I'm loving it, and I really want more chapters to hurry up and be published and translated.

The story actually piques my interest; it's about a girl named Komachi who runs into a devil named Enra (who is SUPER good looking and sexy and a million other gorgeous words to describe him), who is in the midst of a test to become the next King of Hell (the Yama). Enra himself is the youngest son of the King of Hell (a.k.a. a prince of Hell) so yeah. He is given a scroll ... with a list of humans that will end up committing a sin in the future, and he and his other five (?) brothers are in a race to clear all the names on the list.

Komachi, our pretty little heroine, is apparently one of the names on the list (ranked high on it -- the higher the rank, the badder the sin is), but because of her good morals and justice-seeking ways, she objects to the fate the Yama has given her and asks Enra for a chance to prove herself of the fact that she just wouldn't, couldn't commit a sin. Thus, he lets her stay on Earth to go through her daily life, waiting for the time her sin will be committed.

Of course, this being a shoujo in all, it's sort of obvious that some romance is on its way (I'M SO EXCITED FOR IT).

So far, I've been intrigued. The plot is going nicely, with Enra practically living with and stalking Komachi with his little sidekick/guard of Hell named Koko (who ends up disguising himself as a hot guy -- there are hot guys literally eVERYWHERE) and run-ins with Enra's brothers. A lot of scenes are just plain funny and the cliffhangers make me really excited (and impatient) for the next chapter.


I'm enjoying it a LOT so far (no, not just because of the hot guys [though that adds to the enjoyment]), and even though it's not a hentai or anything, some scenes just feel so erotic, with Enra's stares and expressions, his fingers just playing on Komachi's face and, of course, the way they send humans' souls to hell -- by kissing and then biting the human's tongue.
Blah. I can't even.


The art is gorgeous. I mean, GORGEOUSSSS. I LOVE IT.

The characters have amazing personalities. Komachi is nice and just wants justice, while Enra is an arrogant bastard who teases her and hates everything that it's almost hilarious (a lot of people say he has no redeeming qualities, but I beg to differ -- to me, he is an amazing little thing and I just... I love him so much. Even though he's selfish and stuff).
Even the side characters and Enra's brothers are intriguing and stuff.

I know it's only 7 chapters but I'm giving it an 8, or an 8.5 even, so far.

Now give me more Jigoku no Enra!!!

I loved the characters and the look of the manga, and on the first read I would of gave this manga a 9 or even 10 however after rereading it and finally seeing the ending I have to say that its no longer a manga worth these scores. While the art is good, it really doesn't take advantage of its hell and demon elements, beyond the first depiction of hell, this manga could be so much more stylistic but is ultimately rather plain and its really a shame and the second half of the manga is rushed to high hell, to to the extent that ... I didn't even know it was the ending its was such a bad ending to what was a really good manga that started of really strong, which is why I gave it the scores I did.

Oh my! I was just trying to pass time when I stumbled upon Jigoku no Enra and boy I am so happy that I did click that little devil icon that brought me to this devilish awesome manga! Haha. Okay okay, that was kinda over the top compliment considering I've only read til chapter 11 and haven't even finished this yet but hey that says a lot as to how good it is for me. Haha.

The story started when the King of Hell, Yama, made a test out of his succession for his children to participate by eliminating as many names as possible in a ... scroll which contains names (obviously duh. haha) of the sinners or 'future' sinners. Whichever child of his who can eliminate the most names will be then crowned the new ruler of Hell or the new Yama. Enra the second child of Yama who is by the way the male protagonist of the story dragged Takamura Komachi (the female protagonist) to hell as her name is on the scroll. Problem is Komachi is not just any regular damsel in distress, Komachi is a kind person and has a high sense of what is right and wrong being brought up by a lawyer and public prosecutor parents, thus cannot just simply accept her fate and therefore challenges Enra that Yama and his scroll is wrong. Enra then tried to make her see her future sin but cannot show it for some mysterious reason hence solidfying Komachi's belief that he is wrong. That's where the story starts to roll. Haha

Anyway enough about the plot, the story is just so uuuuuggggggh in a very very good way! The story is not really that special but the way the mangaka wrote it was so gripping and so so so I dunno what but it makes me feel really good and *sigh* I so want Enra and I so want his brothers haha! Komachi isn't bad either she's so likeable and not at all annoying unlike most justice oriented female protagonist in other shoujo mangas which most of the time ends up getting in the way or making it worse.

Don't even get me started to how the art is! Oh my! They are DEVILISHLY HANDSOME! The characters are all wow. Just wow. Hahaha! I sound really stupid back there but the best way to describe the art especially the guys are either WOW or WOWZA!

If you want to read a really really good manga that is not too over complicated with just enough mystery going on in the mix then this is perfect for you. I actually highly recommend this to anyone!

PS: If I'm gonna be drag to hell I might as well be dragged by Enra by the mouth bitten in tongue as well. HAHAHAHA!

This manga is pretty good. It's very shoujo-y and kind of cliche. This manga is about a helpful kind of good-goody girl who encounters a demon prince who is competing with his brothers to be king of hell. All of them have a list of sinners and whoever gathers up the most and worst sinners wins. The girl is a top sinner he tries to take her to hell but she fights back, she's stuck with him, she stops any attempts in him trying to bring sinners who haven't committed sin yet to hell by finding the good in them, and ... they get into shoujo-esque scenarios. The story is nothing super original but it's still cute. The art is also really cute. I would recommend this if you like cute shoujo mangas and don't mind if they're kind of cliche.

In my opinion, Jingoku no Enra is really a gem ! I don't know why it is still underestimated but it is really good .))

I really loveee the female lead!! Since i read shoujo mangas a lot I usually see the laugh a lot, innocent and kind type alottt and In getting sick of it !!.(( But the female ead in this story is guaranteed no anything like that and her personality is rare ... to see in shoujo manga.

I usually don't read manga again but Jingoku no Enra made me to read it not twice but maybe more than 3 times and still left me squealing !!!

Overall I think it is a decent but underestimated manga, I really recommend everyone to read this !!!

I really like this series. ok, so the plot:
A really a lawful good high school student gets surprise visits from various demons. the demons are fighting to become the next demon king by purifying 'corrupted' humans. It's not that original but it uses the themes of demons and hell in a interesting shoujo way. I particularly liked that it wasn't?? as shoujo-ey as other shoujo manga ahead with a little bits of dark thmes but nothing too drastic. I was kinda underwhelmed with the ending 'big reveal' as well, I wish it was a bit more dramatic. 7

art:
As an artist the art is seriously ... good. all the characters are well designed, the backgrounds are blended in and the expressions match what their saying. It's not as sparkly for a typical shoujo manga but is definitely very good. The art is one of my favourites. lol this is the main reason I picked up the series, that and demons. 9

characters:
The characters all felt different and each had their own charm. I felt that Enra's reasons for righteousness could have been explored better as we don't get that much information in the series as why she is the way she is, but with the shortness of the series and other character's needing some development (because of plot) I don't mind. Enra's main love interest had matured to be a sort of tsundere, which is quite cute. 7

I really liked this series, it had good pacing, characters, art and story. what more could you ask for? though I felt the very built up ending could have been more dramatic or a story explaining why Enra would do that. 8

Plot:
Are you kind? Do you make right things? Are your decisions the best one? Can you swear that you are doing your best to be good? What if one day, someone came and brings you to hell? What if he says your not good enough, you will become a great sinner of the world you're living in? Will you let yourself be condemned or will you fight for what you believe in? Will you just give up or will you answer back? The heroine of the story is a strict girl. She follows rules and regulations. ... She always did what she thought is the right thing. Getting to know Enra, the one who claimed she's a sinner and was the reason she was dragged down to hell, she fights back and was determined to show that she is not. Accepting the deal, they were on the way of proving to one another who's the right one.

Character:

Enra's changes are really a great shift to see. How unrespectful he is from the beginning and how caring he is to the end is really something. Though its only a short story, the changes made from someone selfish to the one who cares, from the one who hold vengeance to the one who forgives, is touching. It was also good to see examples of human, how vulnerable they can be, how emotions get the best of them, how trivial things matter to them the most. It just shows human is human, imperfect yes, but truly lovable.

Art:

The art looks like somewhat "Ao No Exorcist" and "Kamisama Hajimemashita". Oh. It also looks like "Katekyo", the yaoi one. Hehe. I love how the characters are made cool and proud. Maybe, its to show that the level of Godlike like Enra is different from the normal ones. While the Heroine looks like average, Enra and his subordinate looks awesome. Since I'm not good with drawing hands, its fascinating to see the hand of Enra, polished with black color. He really suits his name, Enra.

Enjoyment:

At first, it kind of bored me since its repetitive. They find a sinner; they changed it, and all is well. It's like a loop of episodes where they find people and change them, again and again. What only differs is that there are extra characters that was being introduced along the episodes. It became exciting when the heroine goes up the list of sinners and the mystery just arises.

Ending:

In line with the mystery of the heroine, it disappoints me. Yes, they answer it but with a very poor logic. Her feelings for Enra are the reason of her rankings, yes. But why? Why is it like that? There are questions left in a puzzle. Are they going to be together? If yes, how? If no, what happens next? I just felt like there still some interesting things that can happen if only it didn't end early.
