Both are isekai novels with an op protagonist with an inhuman body.

Two Isekai novels where the MC reincarnates into an RPG-like Fantasy world, as 1 of the weakest monster; with skills, levels & evolution trees. Both worlds have multiple other Japanese citizens who have also reincarnated into the world and the novels have snappy comedy. Main difference being... Reincarnated as a Slime ... More Kingdom Building, with a large community feel. So I'm a Spider ... A lot more Action Adventure oriented, with the MC going solo most of time.

- Both MCs are really strong / Get a lot of skills -Both are somewhat like mascot characters, Rimuru being a slime and Vandalieu being a baby/child for a loooong time. - Both MCs build a country - Monsters/Demihumans - Death Mage is a bit darker - Both have a nice amount of world building

Both involve a fantasy world. "Tensei shitara Slime Datta Ken" is about being reincarnated into a slime that turns OP and "Yasei no Last Boss ga Arawareta!: Kokuyoku no Haou" is about being stuck in a game.

Both are set in a fantasy world. "Tensei shitara Slime Datta Ken" is about being reincarnated into a slime that turns OP. "Koushaku Reijou no Tashinami" is about a girl getting reborn into an Otome Game as the villianess and avoids her fate and uses her old world knowledge to better the land her father hands to her.

The development of each novel's protagonist is around the same. In Koushaku Reijou, a woman awakens as a character from one of the otome games she had played before; however, being the antagonist of the game, she decides to strive for a happy ending instead of the known defeat. The story goes through the changes she makes to her father's fief, while applying her knowledge in business and (modern) societal laws. Likewise, Tensei Shitara Slime Datta goes through the development of a "monster's city" that was built by the male reincarnate from our society, who now has the body of a slime (the monster you  read more

Both main characters have similar abilities; when they consume material(Monsters, ores) they get some of the materials ability's. Ex. magician, they would get an ability of the magician or the class(RE:monster) They both start ruling over monsters, making they strong, builing a base, and overall expanding they colony from a small one to a big one. Basically they are the same thing but in a different style Re:monster is in a diary style and Tensei shitara Slime Datta Ken is POV.

if you want fantasy with goofy mc this will be your speed

Novels where the MC gets Isekai'd, into a desolate part of a fantasy world. Only to end up befriending a lot of non-human locals and creating an ever expanding civilization, as the Overpowered Overlord. Tsuki ga Michibiku's... MC is a fairly ruthless "ugly" human. Tensei shitara Slime's... MC is a lovable Slime.
