The boy-against-girl showdown in this manga makes it much more interesting than your average boy-meets-girl stories. Through the course of the story, there is good development between the protagonist and the lead female.

The factor that had drawn me in to reading this manga was obviously the art. It is perfectly drawn, not too flashy, and the way how each character is drawn to make them look extremely attractive is so appealing to the eyes.

I liked the characters of the story. I find the female lead as one of the most adorable tsunderes I've ever encountered. There is a significant level of Aki being dere and ... flustered in contrast to other tsunderes who come off as rude and uncute for most of the anime. I like MC-kun and admire how he was able to change from his past form to his current one all for the purpose of getting revenge. I wished that they had made his background more worthy of having him get revenge for, because personally I thought his reason was a bit shallow (or maybe I'm just a complete sadist). But anyways, one can overlook that.
I liked the supporting characters as well. The assistant to the nemesis stands out very well, and I like how her presence is bringing about a sort of mystery factor in this story. The trap best friend of the MC and the other characters are all so adorable as well.

The only negative comment I can really give for this anime is that it updates too slowly. It takes about a month at average for a new chapter to come out, which is bad news for the many who look forward to the new chapter. But nevertheless, Masamune-kun No Revenge is one of the very few manga series I look forward to reading whenever a new update comes out and I would definitely recommend one to read it.

Unlike the anime, the manga actually has an ending albeit a weird one.

The anime suffered from the worst possible ending in the whole world, a confusing cliffhanger that would make many seem that the story itself had no purpose. If only they realized that anime is just a marketing tool to create interest in LN and manga....


The anime ending is bad, indeed, but it made me curious to know the ending enough the find the manga. And now that I've finished the manga here is my review.

The story is great in the beginning, it has good characters, a unique story line, and is very interesting. However, near the very end, as in the last 6 chapters or so the manga turns WEIRD. Somehow, Masamune is allergic or something to Adagaki....and then we are tricked into believing that he doesnt actually like her even after it was revealed that he was the real Masamune and started dating Adagaki...and then YOISHINO became the love interest for 2 chapters after it was revealed that she actually liked him....and then Masamune legit tricks the audience into thinking that he likes YOISHINO TOO but in the end at the very last minute its revealed that he actually rejected her when she confessed and likes Adagaki actually....meanwhile fujinomiya is being a salty betch and is gunning for her own love development with Masamune...the ending was a huge mix of a thousand love interests condensed into a few chapters. basically the harem elements multiplied too much near the end and ruined the pure ending this manga couldve had

I stumbled across this manga quite by accident a while ago, but I found the premise rather interesting. So I decided to give it a go, and I was quite happy that I did. At the time of writing, only 5 chapters of this manga have been released, but I think this is sufficient to produce a fairly decent evaluation of it.

1. Story: 8

I like the premise of getting back at your childhood bully, but having read the specific bullying scenes, I did not think the MC had to be as fixated on his past as he is. Regardless, the story picks up after that ... and delivers the tales of Masamune-kun in his quest for retribution. Its proceeds at a good pace and the events are both interesting and funny. I am quite eager to read on and find out what happens to the relationship between the male and female MC. As it is, it has progresses quite radically from what it was at the beginning. I especially like the ending of chapter 5 (the most recent chapter at the time of this review), as it hints at a change in the male MC's outlook on the proceedings.

2. Art: 9

I understand this is quite a subjective category. Personally, I like this style and I think the characters and the setting is very well drawn. Both Masamune and Adagaki look great. The supporting characters are also drawn well. I particularly like how appearances can be deceiving. Adagaki's helper looks angelic, but turns out to be quite the trickster.

3. Characters: 8

As stated, I liked the main characters of this manga. I like their way of interacting with each other and think they give this manga a lot of potential. There is room for a lot of growth for the characters and this makes things very interesting. I hope for there to be more interesting characters cropping up in the future.

4. Enjoyment: 9

Without a doubt, I have enjoyed reading each chapter. It truly is a shame that it is released so slowly. It is mainly because I enjoy this manga, that I wanted to write a review for it. If you are looking for a high school love story with an interesting plot and some great artwork, this will be great. Don't expect this to be something to evaluate and analyze.

5. Overall: 8

Since there are so few chapters of this manga and as I don't see this fact changing to a considerable degree for the foreseeable future, I would recommend picking it up. It may just turn out that you will be waiting impatiently for new chapters to come out too.

Masaune-Kun No Revenge

Reading this manga is somewhat similar to drinking cheap supermarket cola. It's not outright disgusting, but it leaves a rather unpleasant aftertaste. In effect, Masamune-kun no Revenge is certainly not a terrible Manga, but it's not really worth investing time on either.


Story (8/10):
Creating a mediocre Manga by throwing in a bunch of tried and tested cliches is a sure fire way to earn some cash (by appealing to the otaku audience), and that's exactly what Silver Link has done here.
The story is absolutely nothing new - a fat kid works out and diets, becomes a pretty-boy and tries to publicly humiliate the ... girl who rejected him... only to find that he's falling for her. Of course, when he starts getting somewhere, a couple of other girls appear and voila!- a harem is made.
The developments are all rather abrupt and tasteless. It lacks any semblance of flow and the pacing is quite erratic. All put together, the story aspect is average, if not slightly below average.


Art (9/10):
I'm usually not one to criticize an Manga for its artwork, but this one has some major issues. The main thing I found is that the character designs were rather weird - the faces and limbs were all elongated beyond an level that could be ignored, so much so that it almost felt like Code Geass. Other than that, the animation was alright and the color palette used was quite bright. Yet again, average.


Character (9/10):
I'm actually rather impressed with the creators of this series for being able to make characters this weak, while using only the common cliches as raw material. It's not that the characters are terrible or anything - they're just so shallow and two-dimensional that they can't even be taken seriously. I'll give a short description of two of the characters, just to give you an idea of what I mean -

-Makabe Masamune: The 'hero' of the series. Previously a fat kid who was constantly humiliated, he worked extremely hard to improve his appearance. Now that he's hot stuff, he wants to take revenge on the girl who humiliated him in the past... . And that's it - That's the entirety of his character, nothing more.

-Adagaki Aki: The one-word description of her is (forgive my language) bitch. She has no positive points other than being rich - as for what draws all those men (including our protagonist) to her, I have absolutely no clue.

Other than those two, there are no characters of any real importance. Then again, having those two as the main characters already makes Masamune-kun no Revenge a failure.


Enjoyment (8/10):
It's extremely difficult to enjoy something you've seen hundreds of times before, but executed far worse than most. I, for one, couldn't go any further than 39 chapter before dropping it (although I would've dropped it long back had I not wanted to review it)


Overall (8.8/10):
The end result is that Masamune-kun no Revenge is a mediocre anime which doesn't bring anything new to the table. I wouldn't really recommend this to anyone, but if cardboard characters, boring story and somewhat weird artwork is what you're looking for, then by all means, give it a go.

Masamune-kun No Revenge is about the main protagonist, Makabe Masamune, who wants to take revenge on his childhood ... enemy? Friend? called Akagami Aki. No one shall ever know. Anyway, this Masamune stayed with his grandpa to train for his revenge, and became a handsome narcissist, ready to take revenge on Aki.

Story:6
The story has a low score as it is extremely generic. Handsome guy says, I'm going to make you fall in love with me" and blah blah blah. I feel like his reason to get back at Aki, the enemy/love interest, was crappy. Move ON, please. However, the author realised that the reason ... was not giving the MC the 'good guy' look and progressed. And it was much more enjoyable once they were past the drama. Just don't feel compiled to drop this at the 2nd chapter. The first few chapters did not show its full potential.

Art:10
I could rave on about the art in this for at least 48 hours. Trust me, it is that fantastic. What makes the art in this manga different from the usual is that the eyes are beautifully drawn, the shading and highlights are done perfectly, and the colours are bright and unique. If you like consistent, perfect artwork, this manga is for you.

Character: 7
The MC, Makabe Masamune. He was a plump, chubby boy who would get bullied by the neighbourhood boys. After running into little Aki's mansion's gates, he fell in love (i assume?) with her, only to be broken hearted when she gave him the nickname "Piggy". He sought out to take his revenge. The sight twist to this is that he is now handsome and popular. The love interest, Akagami Aki, is my favourite character, as she has a great character design and her tsundere personality does not go overboard, with no love-interest-toss-into-the-air-and-dissapears-into-the-horizon scene.

For my personal enjoyment, I would say it was quite a change from the usual art and character design of manga. Besides that, there are cliffhangers and exiting parts, but you are better off watching/reading Sakurasou if you want (REALLY GOOD) serious drama, or Kaichou maid sama, for a (once again REALLY GOOD) romance manga. Another downside is that it takes centuries to update. Besides that, if you are just looking for some good romance, so-so plotline, and good art, this manga is for you.

Alright I randomly found this manga while browsing a "What anime/manga does this character come from?" thread, and once I saw the synopsis I decided that I should read it, I mean come on guy trains and becomes handsome in order to get revenge on someone from his childhood it doesn't get much better than that.

On to the review

Story; The story Masamune-kun and his revenge as I'm sure that you already guessed from the title or the synopsis but what the tile and synopsis doesn't tell you is that he is developing a harem that constantly gets in his way while he ... is attempting to enact his plan for revenge.

Art; The art-style as I'm sure you have seen and heard about from other reviews is great in every way, not once have I ever felt that the art didn't fit with what was happening or misplaced.

Characters; Like many other harem and comedy manga/anime there are certain character norms that we have come to know, expect, and love. Such as the pretty girl...uh I mean guy, and others. While some of the characters aren't super-duper original they all add to the story and help give a feel of the main two characters personalty's. Every new character that is introduced fits in well with the rest of the characters, even chubby.

Overall; Overall the story, art, and characters are so far enjoyable 35 chapters in even with the occasional current revenge plan destroying plot twist (I'm looking at you chubby).

I would recommend this manga to every fan of the harem and comedy genres, and while it isn't finished yet I have a hunch that he will choose a girl in the end.

Story: 8
A generally good plot till the last 10 chapters of the manga. The development of the story and flow is well paced, not too slow such that it gets boring. The only draw back in my opinion was the rush to finish the manga, which left quite a few things unexplained. I did not really enjoy the 2 plot twist at the ending and the expected girl to win at the end of the manga, but it was generally a good read.

Art: 10
Great art with nice illustrations. I like how the emotions of the characters are displayed through multiple expressions which is not often ... seen in many manga.

Character: 8
Characters stick to their motto/resolve till the end. Great development of the character's backstory and relationship mid-way in the manga. Of course this development led to a great story line as you can empathize with how the various characters felt. However, that said, there were of course side characters that were quite 'useless' in the whole plot. (Read the manga and you will know why) The side characters were more of a humor sake rather than a flag/stimulus for the various main characters.

Enjoyment: 9
I like myself a decent romance story with focus on the male and female lead. This manga has fulfilled this by avoid unnecessary developments of the side characters. The plot is focused on Masamune and Aki which was great as this story is Masamune's revenge. No redundant relationships were established between characters to prevent side-tracks from the main story.

Overall: 8
Great read. I would suggest investing your time in this manga if you like the more 'modern' kind of art for manga and if you like a plot that is catered to both males and females. No superpowers or flying, just slice of life with romance.

This is my first review so cut me some slack xd: (Might contain Spoilers..MIGHT)

As you all probably know this manga will be getting an anime adaption which i'm pretty excited for. This anime is pretty interesting so far.. Anyways, let's jump right in:

Story (7)

Now the overall premise story, not gonna lie, kinda hooked me. I mean cmon, a guy (Masamune) who was once fat in the past because he was driven out by Aki Adagaki, decided to get in shape so he exercised a lot, and he has a plot for revenge for Aki. And of course, Masamune and Aki happened to be in the ... same school. The Romantic Comedy then starts at their encounter.

Every time I do finish a chapter, I've been eager to read the next. I've wanted to see how Aki and Masamune's relationship would progress. I found the pacing to be quite nice and the overall execution was done nicely. Of course there are a few flaws with some characters which I'll get to later. But I won't lie, the manga got slightly bad since a "certain" character showed up. The character development does happen in the manga, there is quite a lot, but don't expect too much.

Art (9)
Now the art in this manga I gotta say is really nice and well-drawn, the character designs were 10/10 and the backgrounds were nicely done as well. I really like how Masamune and Aki are drawn, heck, even the side characters were drawn well. The expressions were top notch, and the way their personalities were portrayed really brings out the emotions.

Characters (7)
Now the characters aren't all that special, but each one has their lovely personality.

Aki Adagaki: Meet the main Heroine..I mean Tsundere, kinda. Of the manga. She may be tough on others and plain savage against other boys, but she can show a bit of a cute and gentle side too. She does have a reason for acting the way she is, but i'll just tell u to read the manga to find that out.

Masamune Makabe: This is the MC of the manga. He once was fat, but because of something Aki did, he decided to get off his lazy ass and decided to get in shape, thus resulting Masamune to get incredibly handsome. Masamune's moment since the beginning was to get revenge on Aki for what she did to him in the past. But of course, as time goes on, It might not be about revenge anymore.

Neko Fujinomiya: Neko is a girl who is in love with Masamune, she is very bright and the cheerful character of this manga. Now there is a spoiler involving her and Masamune, so just go read.

Yoshino Koiwai: Meet the big-breasted, quiet-but-deadly type of the manga. Yoshino is the maid of the Adagaki family household. Aki pushes her around a lot and she seems to be a bit of a Klutz.

Shuri Kojuurou: Meet the trap of the manga (whoops, spoilered? XD). Shuri is Masamune's friend AND (according to my analysis) seems to have an interest in Neko Fujinomiya.

Tae Futaba: Class representative, another kind and cheerful.

Last but not least...

Kanetsugu Gasou: Meet the FAGGOT of the manga, this guy..this guy is the reason why the Manga went downhill. This guy ruined it. I did not want....NTR...in this fukking manga. So if u want to read this manga, go for it..it's great......If u can get past the NTR arc. I know for a fact that this guy will piss you off..

Now don't get me wrong, even with the appearance of Gasou, I still REALLY enjoyed reading this manga, the story, the characters, the development, many things. Each chapter got me excited and really wanted to see what comes next. This (hopefully) will be something you enjoy too.

Overall (8)

Should you read this? Yeah, you should. If u like loveable characters and the usual Tsundere heroine, give this a read. The character development is pretty damn solid, and it will keep you hooked for a long while. Now if u don't mind waiting and being patient for each chapter to come out, then good for you. I heard chapters come monthly so....

Masamune-kun no revenge is a new flavour to your typical romance stories in which you're allured from the get-go with the main character trying his best to make a certain girl fall in love with him. Nevertheless, although the story is intriguing from the start it takes a deep dive as it progresses with the introduction of new characters being so absurdly surreal and bullshit making you flabbergasted at their mere existence and the direction of the plot. Overlooking that aspect the story does progress fairly well and it does not stray as much away from the original plot line so I encourage not dropping ... the series.

The art is one of the best in this manga. The lines are clean, the expressions are well done and when it is intended for the characters to look attractive or unattractive they are. The fan services also don't detract too much from the plot.

The characters stay true to their own colours. You have the tsundere, narcissist, bubbly girl and the innocent trap. I liked how unique each of the characters were. The downside is that a few other characters uniqueness not so much.

I can relate to the MC which is probably why I enjoyed this manga coupled with the aforementioned twist to the typical romance. In addition, despite the main character obsessed with revenge the story isn't dark and disgusting but cute.

Overall, it is still a continuing series and I am looking forward to reading more chapters because it definitely does get better.

P.S. if it wasn't for the far-fetched change in storyline I would give it a 10. (I could overlook the MC's reason for revenge and the other characters because I can somewhat understand them).

I've decided to read this manga after watching the anime to know the full story as many things were left unanswered, and I wasn't disappointed. The manga wrap up everything nicely with many plot twists and develops the characters much more.

The story is the same as the anime until the karaoke meeting after the Snow White play, and the anime was surprisingly really faithful to the source. For those who watched the anime, the new story starts with a field trip to Paris. The start of this arc was pretty boring to me with the introduction of a french weeabo girl and some shenanigans with ... her older brother's mafia. I didn't like this character and the premise of this arc, but it got a lot better later and its end was beautiful and dramatic, creating depth to Makabe, Adagaki and Koiwai's characters when their relationship got more complicated and entangled by lies. After that, the story keeps developing the characters and their relationships and showing a lot of plot twists, it never gets bad from that point. I particularly enjoyed Adagaki and Yoshino relationship development, when they finally question their placed as master and servant as their wishes conflict but they still care for each other. And I even like the selfish attempts by Fujinomiya at getting closer to Makabe, or how she responds clueless to Kojuurou flirt attempts.

Everything is great until chapter 48, so I ask: why did the author decided to ruin everything with chapter 49? The problem is not that Adagaki won, I always loved her character and liked her and Masamune together, but the problem is how it happened. The last chapters until the 48 were some of the best in the manga with many emotional scenes and a beautiful conclusion to Yoshino, and it was a chance for the author to surprise the readers and go for an unexpected route. But instead, in chapter 49 we get to know that the Yoshino and Makabe's end was just a joke and then Makabe and Adagaki end up together, end of the story. It was so bad that it made me question if the author was compelled to end the story that way for some reason and couldn't do things how he wanted. For some reason, the sequel "Masamune-kun no Reven After School" is included in this entry. It's an after story, each chapter focusing on a different character. It has some really funny chapters and shows Masamune and Adagaki together as a couple, which is really cute, it even made me glad that they ended up together. It's good that After School exists because I was thinking about giving this manga a 1 after chapter 49, but this made me look at the good sides of the story again.

The art is beautiful, I love Tiv's artstyle and character design, and I'm definitely looking forward to see more from this artist. There were many memorable panels, and each page was nice to look at.

Masamune-kun no Revenge was an enjoyable romcom manga and I recommend it to people who likes this genre, knowing that the story is not really serious and gets absurd sometimes, and that the common tropes are present here. I would give it a 8 if it was not for what happened in chapter 49, but still a really good manga overall.

This manga really touched my heart in a lot of ways.
(No, the literally way is not one of them).
Even though there were some problems with nearly every character at some point, the writer always managed to have a way to get me to love them again.

WARNING: Spoilers Ahead.

Let's start with the main character of the story, Makabe/Hayase Masamune.
I've seen a lot of people complain about how his motives for revenge were really childish and immature, but I disagree with that.
Sure, he might be holding a grudge for something that happened when he was a young kid, but that event destroyed his childhood, both mentally and ... physically.
Also, some people have complained about how the switch from revenge to love was extremely sudden, of which I agree, partially, but also disagree.
It is very sudden that the revenge that he had been holding onto for 8 years had suddenly disappeared, but the manga provides a very good explanation for it. Masamune was, essentially, hating Adagaki Aki for a nonexistent reason, and when he was told the actual truth, his emotions changed.
He stopped viewing Aki as the cruel, tyrannical b*tch that he used to view her as, but instead now viewed her as the kind-hearted person who had helped him get stronger, who had helped him when everyone else was bullying him. It was only natural that his feelings would change.

Next, let's talk about the "heroine" of the story, Adagaki Aki.
Again, she's also quite a complex character.
Her motive for rejecting men cruelly is essentially this: "Men always disappng thear and leave me by myself."
This was caused because, (in her eyes), she was abandoned and left alone not only by one person, but by two.
This is the primary reason behind why she keeps pushing others away.
She is sick and tired of being betrayed by the ones she trusted.
However, she is also shown not to hate Masamune for abandoning her.
In episode 9, near the end, she is shown to be reminiscing about the blissful times that she spent together with Masamune, stating that if anything was love, that was love.
This is further expressed when her joy is shown that Gasou comes, saying that he is Masamune.
She continues her relationship with Gasou, even when he gives the response "Who cares?" to her question of why he had left her alone 8 years ago, even though it had a massive effect on her life.

Her love for Masamune is not unprecedented either.
She fell for him not once, but twice.
First, as a child, and second, in the present.
It must have been a shocking revelation for her when she released the two were actually one.
In fact, her love is so deep that she still loves him after realising that everything he had done for her (in the present) was a fake, and part of his plan to get revenge.

Now, I'll move on to talk about Fujinomiya Neko.
Her character is that of an interesting one. There are so many mysteries surrounding her, as that is the type of character she is portrayed as.
Her motive for "getting close" to Masamune was a very interesting one.
She knew that there was a 30% chance of her dying soon, so before she (perhaps) passed away, she wanted to experience one emotion.
Love.
All Neko knows about love is from what she has read and hear about.
And she wants to experience this blissful emotion before she dies.
Even if that means harming the others around her.
However, after she first gets rejected, she falls in love with Masamune for real.

She is also shown to care(?) about Aki in a sort of roundabout way.
She warns her not to get close to Masamune, as she knows about the truth of his revenge plan, and whether it's because she actually wants to help Aki or because she wants her "out of the way" for her relationship with Masamune, She warns him nevertheless.

She is shown to be very dense about her one personal affairs as well, being completely bewildered by the fact that Kojurou likes her.

Now for the final character I'm going to talk about today, Koiwai Yoshino.
She is Aki's personal servant, always obeying her every order.
She is... a very interesting character.
She was the one who instigated the whole event that eternally(?) scarred Masamune and Aki when they were kids, although she was extremely repent-full and sorry about it in the aftermath.
She does everything in her power to help Masamune and Aki get together, even if it means hurting herself and her emotions, as a way of making up for her... sin.

The story of this manga is also amazing.
It weaves all the characters together so finely, so perfectly, that nothing feels unnatural at all.
The ending was completely beautiful, and it was one of my favourite parts of the manga, although I would totally love more of it.
Overall, this Manga is completely amazing, and I would definitely recommend reading it.

The art is what makes this series outstanding. A lot of artists can draw manga but no artist can draw the subtle expressions so perfectly the way this artist does it (except maybe Grand Blue). Every chapter, lit my computer on fire because the romance was too spicy.

If she/he wanted to she could ship the main character with a rock and have you on board in 2 panels. It's is that good. I read from chapter 29 where the anime leaves off. People who don't rate the art highly probably just didn't notice or haven't read the more recent chapters where the art really shines.

I would recommend this to anyone that wishes to continue on after watching the anime, whether you were disappointed by the ending or not. I personally disliked it, and I can definitely say reading this put me at ease.

As of this review, this is only my 2nd manga of all time, so I do not have much to compare it to. However, judging from overall enjoyment & what I've read thus far, I believe a 7/10 is an honest, fair rating.

Also, I would say pass on this if you're looking for actual "revenge" to take place. I personally am fine with "Masamune-kun's Revenge" not ... having any revenge(as of now), but I'm sure some might not be happy with that.

This manga suffers from unoriginality. That's a fact, we can see a lot of mangas like this. We cannot deny that however, it does not make the manga or the story horrible. I just wanna leave that there.

Going on, Masamune-Kun no Revenge manga has a really touching story with a lot of turn of events. Surprisingly, I felt the burden, touched, surprised, shocked, and happy. To be honest, I got annoyed in some areas but it does not ruin my journey in reading the manga. I find it cute and really makes you want to go back to high school.

Overall, the main ... series was kinda a cliffhanger for me even though it had a very smooth ending. So I read the "Masamune-Kun no Revenge after school."

For those people who do not know what is "Masamune-Kun no Revenge after school" is, it is a continuation of the story where the main series left off. Somehow, it was still a cliffhanger but I was more satisfied with the ending this time.

Overall, it was great. I loved it, you should give it a try.

I started reading this manga because of the anime adaption left me feeling "what the hell is going to happen next?" At the time of this review the anime and manga are still on-going. Needless to say, this manga was quite an entertaining read. We start off with a classic boy gets his heart broken by the girl he loves, but only to come back YEARS later to seek revenge for his humiliation.

Story:
The story started quite strong. The goal was clear, to seek revenge for a traumatized childhood. Masamune with the help of a close ally, devised a plan to make the one who ... broke his childish heart pay, Aki. His goal was to get Aki to fall in love with him only to break her heart once she does. There was just one problem, how to get Aki to fall in love with him. This is where everything changes. Is revenge all the important? As I continue to read, I realize that Masamune's resolve is being tested. The original plot of revenge and gratification has been hampered with rivalry, misunderstandings and revelations. The true plot has been revealed as a cliche Rom-Com drama. Nevertheless, it was definitely worth reading if your interested in misunderstanding being realized.

Masamune-kun no Revenge. It's about a high schooler. A typical high school story. Well, in this case, the MC is a hottie. Seems regular to you? Well, at first glance, it is. That's why, as far as the story goes, it's pretty generic in comparison.That's why the mangaka offers something else to the table, art and character

To make up for the pretty generic (with a bit twist) premise, we're presented with godly art and character that is adorable and relatable. Needless to say, they make up for it quite well. As far as I know, the manga is already over and to those who hates ... rushed ending, this is not one for you. The ending is pretty rushed even though it ended on a good note. I feel like it needs to flesh out the story a bit more before deciding to end it.

It's a harem, yes. Technically. But, the MC is set on one girl while turning down advances from another girl (as for why, it's in the story, go read it). This alone makes it quite an interesting read material. A harem that is not quite a harem. Bit of drama here and there. That's what makes Masamune-kun no Revenge interesting.

So, this could be great all in all but the rushed ending to happy conclusion leaves a bitter taste in my tongue, otherwise, it could be a 10/10 for me.

Masamune-kun no Revenge is a romance tale of a fat kid who later got skinny and trying get revenge on a girl who rejected him for being fat.
I enjoyed reading this at very beginning. loved the set-up, art is also great and characters was decent
but as story progress nothing much really happen at least nothing out of ordinary for this kind of manga trope.

The ending will probably divided opinion of reader depending which character you rooted for or how it went back and forth toward the end.

overall this manga a good read for someone who ... looking for a quick read of romance/high school manga since it's quite short. good start but lack impact or impression to make it memorable for reader by the end.

My little review here just finished the manga today and the afterschool chapters too. Personally 9/10 I can respect the opinions of everyone who thought it was rushed or missed a lot of plot points and I agree the random deviations from the plot were annoying but I felt it was a great ride with enough closure for an ending. Loved the development of the characters and main conflict especially towards the end and the art is basically perfect.

Couple more opinions here regarding the ending. Throughout the whole manga for me it was Yoshino best girl and Aki x Masamune best ... ship. I slightly had my hopes up for Yoshino winning throughout the manga since I absolutely loved her interactions with Masamune and was really hoping for it during the last couple chapters when it began to be hinted but in the end we all knew that couldn't happen since it was obvious from the chapters before 48 that he loved Aki and his relationship with Yoshino was a great friendship but platonic or at most a small crush. Few romance manga like this can make me love nearly all the characters to the point that even when my ship (Yoshino x Masamune) didn't fly I felt happy for how Yoshino's character grew especially towards the end of the manga as we discover what her true intensions were from the start and see her become her own person outside of just Aki's servant.

P.S. a lot of people complain about the hives disappearing so just to clarify in the manga his hives were caused by his stress during contact with Aki from hiding the truth that he had been seeking a relationship with her for revenge from the start. In the last couple pages when he tells her the truth.

The story was honestly something I couldn't put down. I read the whole thing in almost a day. The end of it was the part that almost made me freak out. Still, I would rate it as one of my favorites. A very good read, if you have the time for it. I almost wished there was a spin-off of it.

The art was outstanding. Everything was beautiful and stood out wildly.

The characters were my second favorite part. They all had something to bring to the table and I felt as if a lot of effort was put into them. A mix of feelings, but ... in all, they were characters anyone could love.

The Development was a bit slow, which I know had plenty of people mad, but honestly it felt right, especially considering the length of the manga. I certainly enjoyed it, but as with everyone else, I wish things had ended up differently.

Overall, it was pretty wholesome. If you like feeling good inside, I would definitely recommend this to you. Otherwise, I have no clue. Give it a chance. Good job author.
