Taking place in a fictional world where monsters exists, Shingeki no Kyojin and Owari no Serpah explores the dark side of fantasy. The main male protagonist also suffers from a tragic past that includes the lost of his friends. Both series focuses on their journey to gain revenge while developing connections with others. There is also military affairs in both series revolving around divisions that fights the mysterious beings in their perspective worlds.  

While the lead character of AnE is much more friendly both characters initially come across as delinquents but really love the people around them. They both start off with finding companions in a school setting as they also learn to combat the enemies they wish to get revenge upon. 

While both events are set in apocalyptic worlds, both of these works focus on the concept of survival. The main difference between them is that one is about Vampires, while the other is on Zombies. However, both of them are still a very good read and I recommend it to any fan who loves action. 

Teito and Yuu both have similar situations where they have to leave their friend/family to escape from a certain place, and they arrive at safe haven and train to fight against their enemy .\.  

In both mangas students are used as weapons and are made to fight against ‚evil‘ with their extraordinary abilities. In ‚Thou shall not die‘ as well as in ‚Seraph of the end‘ they develop some kind of friendship. By comparison ‚Thou shall not die‘ shows more brutality and belongs to the seinen genre while ‚Seraph of the end‘ has typical traits of the shounen genre. 

Both series have: * A determined protagonist who loves his family * Vampire monsters as antagonists * The protagonist's sibling turned into said monsters * Cool swords * Demon/Vampire hunters * True Companionship * Most of protagonist's family killed by a vampire/demon 

Both are about vampires and those who fight them. Both have a protagonist with an obssessive hatred of vampires, who still either has one as a friend or at least cooperates with him. 

Amazing art. Highly recommend. 

Vampires that are fruity  

Do you like dark stories? then this two are your shot to a good read, both stories started with a mysterious virus spreading throughout humanities therefore wiping out human but in Mokushiroku Alice, it only affects little girls. created by the same author this two stories will make your reading a good roller coaster ride. 

If not just for the fact that the vampire queens in both the manga look like twins and share the last name 'tepes', both these manga are very well worth reading on their own. Establishing a lot of lore and interesting character storylines.

Both stories are about human as a livestock for nonhuman party. The MCs in both stories are orphans and they are raised in orphanage for a reason 

In both manga friends fight against each other and want to save the other one. Both has the same feeling in the story: people die and the main characters try to survive. Both has beautiful character designs. 

Attention this might contain minor spoiler. You love sci-fi shonen with "very close friends"? Aegis could be considered a sort of Owari no Seraph Korean version. You have orphan children forced to fight for a goal, two best friends who end up in different sides of a war, the blonde one making everything alone within his reach for the dark-haired one to live (and make friends), even if it means to sacrifice himself to achieve that...in whatever means. You will be heart broken with the story of these friends, set in a futuristic/dystopian world. Personally I love ONS more but Aegis is really good and also presents action. read more 

These manga feature similar theme: vampires and humans fighting against each other in a dystopian world. Also there are characters that are very attached to their friends, best friends turning into enemies and vampires working along with humans for the good of both species (enemies becoming friends). TB is more adult-like, more mature and gory while OnS focus more on younger characters, "school" settings, but it also provides awesome action. I personally like TB more because it has a lot of political plot and great fights, also slight romance while OnS focus more on friendship and only in developping the three main characters. In both the main characters are likeable and the villains somehow predictable, but if you like one you'll definitely enjoy the other. read more 

Vampire shounen mangas focused on revenge. The entire family of the main character was annihilated by a vampire/group of vampires... except one of them that reapears as an enemy. Very dramatic but still with some light elements that soften the story. 

In both series, the main male protagonist has a past that has various connections to the story. Their role in the present arc shows their growth and desire to protect people they care about. In addition, the main protagonists has a similar hotblooded personality especially when it comes to fighting. There is also a lot of mystery present that revolves around the origins of their world and strange phenomenons. 

This might contain minor spoilers. These manga are wonderful underrated reads! Also, they display several similarities like: - Two male best friends who grew up together in a orphanage until a tragedy occurred. - The "main" girl is killed in the beggining of the story and later the hero meets an energetic girl that becomes his friend. - The two male best friends are separated to opposite sides which adds lots of angst to their relationship. - The hero is the only thing keeping his "friend" from letting go of his humanity. - One friend is chasing after the other trying to find him and he has suffered so much that he only thing he cares about is his best friend. - An intricate plot about destroying humanity and "Angels" are monsters that destroy. - Immortality is an issue. Both have a lot of action and portray the very same message of "your friends are your family and nothing can destroy that bond, not even if go to the dark side". Personally I like Immortal Rain better but Owari no Seraph is a great read too. Both have complex characters and the more you find out about them, the more you come to understand them. read more 

Both Aka and Owari are very similar as both have the human survivors vs vampires setting if you have read one of the 2 series you will find similarities between the two if you enjoyed one you will have the high probability of enjoying the latter and has very edgy feel to it  

These two series may not seem very similar at first, but some of the same elements start to show up as they go. Post-apocalyptic setting, fighting-capable survivors, vampire(ish) beings and their own government (power-ranked enemies included), some mysteries about the creatures' origin and progenitor and lastly, later on, gods and angels also show up. However, the deeper themes surrounding these elements are set up differently in each one; as a result, the overall feel of the two series is not really alike. I do prefer Lessa in terms of worldbuilding, characters, storytelling, pacing and a somewhat more mature approach (in a nutshell, nearly every aspect; even the comedy is better), but Owari no Seraph was a pleasant surprise, and I unexpectedly had a lot of fun (I still have issues with the story though).
