6.4/10
Solely off the premise and artstyle, I really wanted to like this manga, but it continued to disappoint me in every possible way due to the lack of pacing that the author has employed. From plot point to plot point, chapter to chapter, and panel to panel, the manga fails to smoothly introduce, flesh-out, and continue each ending, which kills any form of seriousness and engagement.
The pacing of this manga is god-awful; seriously, to make a serious and heart-tugging manga, there needs to be a strong foundation in the establishment of characters and plot, but this fails to do so due to the trigger-happy
...
nature of each development. Before any personal connection or idea of the character’s personality can form, the author forces their relationship and continues to do so despite the vague personality that was set contradicting every single action. Don’t get me wrong, some of the psychological problems are heartfelt and serious, but it’s ultimately ruined by the poorly introduced and maintained resolution of each plot point.
As noted before, the plot points have been rushed, but they are good plot points. Each one of them are serious and entertaining, but because it was done at a breakneck speed, it doesn’t convey the intended emotional impact or excitement. It’s one of those feelings where you think “this is good, but I wish the author spent more time on this to ___.”
Once again, this is a solid manga if not for the ridiculous pacing in each character development and introduction. With the few chapters that I have read, the panel to panel transitions don’t even make sense half the time, leaving a feeling of confusion as if the translator misplaced some panels. I wanted to like this manga, but I can’t brush pass the irresponsible writing, but maybe you can.
