7.3/10
Initially, this manga seemed well-grounded with a strong, strong first chapter, but as the chapters fly by, I can’t tell if I love it or hate it. It seems the manga doesn’t haven’t any identity yet; to elaborate, the manga has one goal in mind then switches to another, focusing on adding more and more characters with two distinct plots. Despite that, each plot is done well enough that it’s not boring nor too confusing.
The first plot, the one in the title, revolves around the childhood friend; she’s basically every unhinged, obsessive fml that we’ve come to love. The plot gets some superb groundwork

in the first chapter alone, but it’s set aside for the secondary plot line of the mc’s college friend. After the college friend, there’s a tertiary plot line of the mc’s college rival (who’s female ofc). Once each plot has been run though, the manga repeats itself; though this might sound like a pain in the butt to read and follow, it’s done in a well-managed manner where the comedy pops with a small bit of slice of life.
At times, the manga is overbearing with the sheer multitude of characters, who are definitely harem candidates, causing the plot to be somewhat forgettable. Still, the characters are fleshed out, some more than others, while having their passions on full display; there’s a little bit of psychological issues and plot.
If the manga focused on one plot line instead of introducing a character each chapter with more issues, then it could’ve easily been much, much better, however, even with the plot-identity-disorder, its still a fleshed out and enjoyable manga.
